2024-10-28selftests: mptcp: list sysctl dataMatthieu Baerts (NGI0)1-0/+9
Listing all the values linked to the MPTCP sysctl knobs was not exercised in MPTCP test suite. Let's do that to avoid any regressions, but also to have a kernel with a debug kconfig verifying more assumptions. For the moment, we are not interested by the output, only to avoid crashes and warnings. 2024-09-09selftests: mptcp: connect: remove duplicated spaces in TAP outputMatthieu Baerts (NGI0)1-6/+8
It is nice to have a visual alignment in the test output to present the different results, but it makes less sense in the TAP output that is there for computers. It sounds then better to remove the duplicated whitespaces in the TAP output, also because it can cause some issues with TAP parsers expecting only one space around the directive delimiter (#). While at it, change the variable name (result_msg) to something more explicit. 2024-09-09selftests: mptcp: reset the last TS before the first testMatthieu Baerts (NGI0)1-0/+2
Just to slightly improve the precision of the duration of the first test. In mptcp_join.sh, the last append_prev_results is now done as soon as the last test is over: this will add the last result in the list, and get a more precise time for this last test. 2024-04-08selftests: mptcp: add tc check for check_toolsGeliang Tang1-1/+1
tc are used in some test scripts: mptcp_connect.sh, mptcp_join.sh and simult_flows.sh. It makes sense to check if tc is installed before running these scripts, just like other tools. So this patch add 'tc' check for mptcp_lib_check_tools(), and check it in these test scripts. 2024-04-01mptcp: don't account accept() of non-MPC client as fallback to TCPDavide Caratti1-0/+9
Current MPTCP servers increment MPTcpExtMPCapableFallbackACK when they accept non-MPC connections. As reported by Christoph, this is "surprising" because the counter might become greater than MPTcpExtMPCapableSYNRX. MPTcpExtMPCapableFallbackACK counter's name suggests it should only be incremented when a connection was seen using MPTCP options, then a fallback to TCP has been done. Let's do that by incrementing it when the subflow context of an inbound MPC connection attempt is dropped. Also, update mptcp_connect.sh kselftest, to ensure that the above MIB does not increment in case a pure TCP client connects to a MPTCP server. 2024-03-11selftests: mptcp: print test results with colorsGeliang Tang1-31/+31
To unify the output formats of all test scripts, this patch adds four more helpers: mptcp_lib_pr_ok() mptcp_lib_pr_skip() mptcp_lib_pr_fail() mptcp_lib_pr_info() to print out [ OK ], [SKIP], [FAIL] and 'INFO: ' with colors. Use them in all scripts to print the "ok/skip/fail/info' using the same 'format'. Having colors helps to quickly identify issues when looking at a long list of output logs and results. 2024-03-07selftests: mptcp: connect: fix shellcheck warningsMatthieu Baerts (NGI0)1-29/+47
shellcheck recently helped to prevent issues. It is then good to fix the other harmless issues in order to spot "real" ones later. Here, two categories of warnings are now ignored: - SC2317: Command appears to be unreachable. The cleanup() function is invoked indirectly via the EXIT trap. - SC2086: Double quote to prevent globbing and word splitting. This is recommended, but the current usage is correct and there is no need to do all these modifications to be compliant with this rule. For the modifications: - SC2034: ksft_skip appears unused. - SC2181: Check exit code directly with e.g. 'if mycmd;', not indirectly with $?. - SC2004: $/${} is unnecessary on arithmetic variables. - SC2155: Declare and assign separately to avoid masking return values. - SC2166: Prefer [ p ] && [ q ] as [ p -a q ] is not well defined. - SC2059: Don't use variables in the printf format string. Use printf '..%s..' "$foo". Now this script is shellcheck (0.9.0) compliant. We can easily spot new issues. 2023-07-19selftests: mptcp: connect: format subtests results in TAPMatthieu Baerts1-3/+36
The current selftests infrastructure formats the results in TAP 13. This version doesn't support subtests and only the end result of each selftest is taken into account. It means that a single issue in a subtest of a selftest containing multiple subtests forces the whole selftest to be marked as failed. It also means that subtests results are not tracked by CIs executing selftests. MPTCP selftests run hundreds of various subtests. It is then important to track each of them and not one result per selftest. It is particularly interesting to do that when validating stable kernels with the last version of the test suite: tests might fail because a feature is not supported but the test didn't skip that part. In this case, if subtests are not tracked, the whole selftest will be marked as failed making the other subtests useless because their results are ignored. This patch formats subtests results in TAP in mptcp_connect.sh selftest. Selftests are supposed to run on any kernels, including the old ones not supporting all MPTCP features. One of them is the support of TCP_FASTOPEN socket option with MPTCP connections introduced by commit 4ffb0a02346c ("mptcp: add TCP_FASTOPEN sock option"). One of them is the full support of disconnections from the userspace introduced by commit b29fcfb54cd7 ("mptcp: full disconnect implementation"). 2023-06-10selftests: mptcp: connect: skip transp tests if not supportedMatthieu Baerts1-0/+10
Selftests are supposed to run on any kernels, including the old ones not supporting all MPTCP features. One of them is the support of IP(V6)_TRANSPARENT socket option with MPTCP connections introduced by commit c9406a23c116 ("mptcp: sockopt: add SOL_IP freebind & transparent options"). It is possible to look for "__ip_sock_set_tos" in kallsyms because IP(V6)_TRANSPARENT socket option support has been added after TOS support which came with the required infrastructure in MPTCP sockopt code. To support TOS, the following function has been exported (T). Not great but better than checking for a specific kernel version. 2023-05-30selftests: mptcp: connect: skip if MPTCP is not supportedMatthieu Baerts1-0/+4
Selftests are supposed to run on any kernels, including the old ones not supporting MPTCP. A new check is then added to make sure MPTCP is supported. If not, the test stops and is marked as "skipped". Note that this check can also mark the test as failed if 'SELFTESTS_MPTCP_LIB_EXPECT_ALL_FEATURES' env var is set to 1: by doing that, we can make sure a test is not being skipped by mistake. A new shared file is added here to be able to re-used the same check in the different selftests we have. 2022-11-29selftests: mptcp: mptfo Initiator/ListenerDmytro Shytyi1-0/+21
This patch first adds TFO support in mptcp_connect.c. This can be enabled via a new option: -o MPTFO. Once enabled, the TCP_FASTOPEN socket option is enabled for the server side and a sendto() with MSG_FASTOPEN is used instead of a connect() for the client side. Note that the first SYN has a limit of bytes it can carry. In other words, it is allowed to send less data than the provided one. We then need to track more status info to properly allow the next sendmsg() starting from the next part of the data to send the rest. Also in TFO scenarios, we need to completely spool the partially xmitted buffer -- and account for that -- before starting sendfile/mmap xmit, otherwise the relevant tests will fail. 2021-05-02kbuild: replace LANG=C with LC_ALL=CMasahiro Yamada1-1/+1
LANG gives a weak default to each LC_* in case it is not explicitly defined. LC_ALL, if set, overrides all other LC_* variables. LANG < LC_CTYPE, LC_COLLATE, LC_MONETARY, LC_NUMERIC, ... < LC_ALL This is why documentation such as [1] suggests to set LC_ALL in build scripts to get the deterministic result. LANG=C is not strong enough to override LC_* that may be set by end users.
