2024-06-26perf test: Make tests its own libraryIan Rogers1-4/+4
Make the tests code its own library. This is done to avoid compiling code twice, once for the perf tool and once for the perf python module. 2023-08-17perf test: Add a test for the new Arm CPU ID comparison behaviorJames Clark1-0/+1
Now that variant and revision fields are taken into account the behavior is slightly more complicated so add a test to ensure that this behaves as expected. 2019-06-17perf tests arm64: Compile tests unconditionallyRaphael Gault1-1/+1
In order to subsequently add more tests for the arm64 architecture we compile the tests target for arm64 systematically. Further explanation provided by Mark Rutland: Given prior questions regarding this commit, it's probably worth spelling things out more explicitly, e.g. Currently we only build the arm64/tests directory if CONFIG_DWARF_UNWIND is selected, which is fine as the only test we have is arm64/tests/dwarf-unwind.o. So that we can add more tests to the test directory, let's unconditionally build the directory, but conditionally build dwarf-unwind.o depending on CONFIG_DWARF_UNWIND. There should be no functional change as a result of this patch. 2019-02-14perf tools: Rename build libperf to perfJiri Olsa1-3/+3

2018-03-16perf tools arm64: Add libdw DWARF post unwind support for ARM64Kim Phillips1-0/+2
Based on prior work: https://lkml.org/lkml/2014/5/6/395 and on how other arches add libdw unwind support. Includes support for running the unwind test, e.g., on a system with only elfutils' libdw 0.170, the test now runs, and successfully: $ ./perf test unwind 56: Test dwarf unwind : Ok Originally-by: Jean Pihet <[email protected]> Reported-by: Christian Hansen <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Kim Phillips <[email protected]> Cc: Alexander Shishkin <[email protected]> Cc: Jiri Olsa <[email protected]> Cc: Namhyung Kim <[email protected]> Cc: Peter Zijlstra <[email protected]> Link: http://lkml.kernel.org/r/[email protected] Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <[email protected]>
2015-05-29perf tools: Add ARM64 perf_regs_load to support libunwind and enable testingWang Nan1-0/+2
Newest libunwind does support ARM64, and perf is able to utilize it also. This patch enables the perf test dwarf unwind for arm64.
