2024-03-21perf beauty: Move uapi/linux/vhost.h copy out of the directory used to build ↵Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo1-230/+0
perf It is only used to generate string tables, not to build perf, so move it to the tools/perf/trace/beauty/include/ hierarchy, that is used just for scraping. This is a something that should've have happened, as happened with the linux/socket.h scrapper, do it now as Ian suggested while doing an audit/refactor session in the headers used by perf. No other tools/ living code uses it, just <linux/vhost.h> coming from either 'make install_headers' or from the system /usr/include/ directory. tldr; Just FYI, I'm carrying this on the perf tools tree. Full explanation: There used to be no copies, with tools/ code using kernel headers directly. From time to time tools/perf/ broke due to legitimate kernel hacking. At some point Linus complained about such direct usage. Then we adopted the current model. The way these headers are used in perf are not restricted to just including them to compile something. 2020-11-03tools kvm headers: Update KVM headers from the kernel sourcesArnaldo Carvalho de Melo1-0/+4
Some should cause changes in tooling, like the one adding LAST_EXCP, but the way it is structured end up not making that happen. The new SVM_EXIT_INVPCID should get used by arch/x86/util/kvm-stat.c, in the svm_exit_reasons table. The tools/perf/trace/beauty part has scripts to catch changes and automagically create tables, like tools/perf/trace/beauty/kvm_ioctl.sh, but changes are needed to make tools/perf/arch/x86/util/kvm-stat.c catch those automatically.
