Since commit aed65af1cc2f ("drivers: make device_type const"), the
driver core can properly handle constant struct device_type. Move the
wwan_type variable to be a constant structure as well, placing it into
read-only memory which can not be modified at runtime.

My thinking was that ulong is the same as size_t everywhere. No, size_t
is uint on 32bit. So the below commit introduced a build warning on
32bit:
.../gdm724x/gdm_tty.c:165:24: warning: comparison of distinct pointer types ('typeof (2048UL) *' (aka 'unsigned long *') and 'typeof (remain) *' (aka 'unsigned int *'))
To fix this, partially revert the commit (remove constants' suffixes)
and switch to min_t() in this case instead.
/me would hope for Z (or alike) suffix for constants.

len and remain can never be negative in gdm_tty_write(). So remove such
a check and move the check of remaining bytes to the loop condition.
This way, the preceding 'if' is now superfluous too. Fix all that and
make the code cleaner.

Unify the type of tty_operations::write() counters with the 'count'
parameter. I.e. use size_t for them.
This includes changing constants to UL to keep min() and avoid min_t().

Similar to skb_eth_hdr() introduced in commit 96cc4b69581d ("macvlan: do
not assume mac_header is set in macvlan_broadcast()"), let's introduce a
skb_vlan_eth_hdr() helper which can be used in TX-only code paths to get
to the VLAN header based on skb->data rather than based on the
skb_mac_header(skb).
We also consolidate the drivers that dereference skb->data to go through
this helper.

"Here is the big set of staging driver updates for 5.18-rc1.
Loads of tiny cleanups for almost all staging drivers in here, nothing
major at all. Highlights include:
- remove the ashmem Android driver. It is long-dead and if there are
any legacy userspace applications still using it, the Android
kernel images will maintain it, the community shouldn't care about
it anymore
- wfx wifi driver major cleanups. Should be ready to merge out of
staging soon, and will coordinate with the wifi maintainers after
-rc1 is out
- major cleanups and unwinding of the layers of the r8188eu driver.
It's amazing just how many unneeded layers of abstraction is in
there, just when we think it's done, another is found...
- lots of tiny coding style cleanups in many other staging drivers.

There is a regular need in the kernel to provide a way to declare having
a dynamically sized set of trailing elements in a structure. Kernel code
should always use “flexible array members”[1] for these cases. The older
style of one-element or zero-length arrays should no longer be used[2].
This helps with the ongoing efforts to globally enable -Warray-bounds
and get us closer to being able to tighten the FORTIFY_SOURCE routines
on memcpy().
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle and audited and fixed,
manually.

Commit 406f42fa0d3c ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount
of VLANs...") introduced a rbtree for faster Ethernet address look
up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all
the writes to it got through appropriate helpers.

put_tty_driver() is an alias for tty_driver_kref_put(). There is no need
for two exported identical functions, therefore switch all users of
old put_tty_driver() to new tty_driver_kref_put() and remove the former
for good.

alloc_tty_driver was deprecated by tty_alloc_driver in commit
7f0bc6a68ed9 (TTY: pass flags to alloc_tty_driver) in 2012.
I never got into eliminating alloc_tty_driver until now. So we still
have two functions for allocating drivers which might be confusing. So
get rid of alloc_tty_driver uses to eliminate it for good in the next
patch.
Note we need to switch return value checking as tty_alloc_driver uses
ERR_PTR. And flags are now a parameter of tty_alloc_driver.

There needs to be a check to verify that we don't read beyond the end
of "buf". This function is called from do_rx(). The "buf" is the USB
transfer_buffer and "len" is "urb->actual_length".

Line disciplines expect a positive value or zero returned from
tty->ops->write_room (invoked by tty_write_room). So make this
assumption explicit by using unsigned int as a return value. Both of

This driver was using "packet_type" for packet types and for
the mapping of TTY indices to packet types.
Fix the confusion by renaming the symbols.

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language
extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:
struct foo {
int stuff;
struct boo array[];
};
By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which
will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being
inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.
Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by
this change:
"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator
may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of
zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.

There are a few remaining drivers/staging/*/Kconfig files that do not
have SPDX identifiers in them. Add the correct GPL-2.0 identifier to
them to make scanning tools happy.

Remove print statements that provide information about error messages
when memory allocation is failed.

Now that the SPDX tag is in all gdm724x files, that identifies the
license in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text
wording can be removed as it is no longer needed at all.
This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in
the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff
like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never
needed.

It's good to have SPDX identifiers in all files to make it easier to
audit the kernel tree for correct licenses.
Fix up the all of the staging gdm724x files to have a proper SPDX
identifier, based on the license text in the file itself. The SPDX
identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of
the full boiler plate text.

The method ndo_start_xmit() is defined as returning an 'netdev_tx_t',
which is a typedef for an enum type, but the implementation in this
driver returns an 'int'.
Fix this by returning 'netdev_tx_t' in this driver too.

Since the testing for host endianness and in-driver conversion were
removed in 77e8a50149a2, the gdm_endian struct contains only one member,
and can therefore be simplified to a single u8 variable.
