2023-10-11netdev: replace napi_reschedule with napi_scheduleChristian Marangi1-1/+1
Now that napi_schedule return a bool, we can drop napi_reschedule that does the same exact function. The function comes from a very old commit bfe13f54f502 ("ibm_emac: Convert to use napi_struct independent of struct net_device") and the purpose is actually deprecated in favour of different logic. Convert every user of napi_reschedule to napi_schedule. 2023-09-20net: ethernet: ni: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König1-4/+2
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers are converted, .remove_new() is renamed to .remove(). 2023-07-27net: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring1-3/+2
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. 2022-02-17net: nixge: Use GFP_KERNEL instead of GFP_ATOMIC when possibleChristophe JAILLET1-2/+3
NIXGE_MAX_JUMBO_FRAME_SIZE is over 9000 bytes and RX_BD_NUM 128. So this loop allocates more than 1 Mo of memory. Previous memory allocations in this function already use GFP_KERNEL, so use __netdev_alloc_skb_ip_align() and an explicit GFP_KERNEL instead of a implicit GFP_ATOMIC. This gives more opportunities of successful allocation. Make the function always return an error pointer again but fix the check to match that. Before this change of_get_phy_mode() returned an enum, phy_interface_t. On error, -ENODEV etc, is returned. If the result of the function is stored in a variable of type phy_interface_t, and the compiler has decided to represent this as an unsigned int, comparision with -ENODEV etc, is a signed vs unsigned comparision. Fix this problem by changing the API. Make the function return an error, or 0 on success, and pass a pointer, of type phy_interface_t, where the phy mode should be stored. v2: Return with *interface set to PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_NA on error. Make MDIO child optional and only instantiate the MDIO bus if the child is actually present. There are currently no (in-tree) users of this binding; all (out-of-tree) users use overlays that get shipped together with the FPGA images that contain the IP. The devm_kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, devm_kcalloc(). This patch replaces cases of: devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b, gfp) with: devm_kcalloc(handle, a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b * c, gfp) with: devm_kzalloc(handle, array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: devm_kcalloc(handle, array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: devm_kzalloc(handle, 4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. Some manual whitespace fixes were needed in this patch, as Coccinelle really liked to write "=devm_kcalloc..." instead of "= devm_kcalloc...". 2018-05-07net: nixge: Fix error path for obtaining mac addressMoritz Fischer1-3/+5
Fix issue where nixge_get_nvmem_address() returns a non-NULL return value on a failed nvmem_cell_get() that causes an invalid access when error value encoded in pointer is dereferenced. Furthermore ensure that buffer allocated by nvmem_cell_read() actually gets kfreed() if the function succeeds.
