2024-10-15octeontx2-af: Fix potential integer overflows on integer shiftsColin Ian King1-2/+2
The left shift int 32 bit integer constants 1 is evaluated using 32 bit arithmetic and then assigned to a 64 bit unsigned integer. In the case where the shift is 32 or more this can lead to an overflow. Avoid this by shifting using the BIT_ULL macro instead. 2024-09-10octeontx2-af: Modify SMQ flush sequence to drop packetsNaveen Mamindlapalli2-14/+48
The current implementation of SMQ flush sequence waits for the packets in the TM pipeline to be transmitted out of the link. This sequence doesn't succeed in HW when there is any issue with link such as lack of link credits, link down or any other traffic that is fully occupying the link bandwidth (QoS). This patch modifies the SMQ flush sequence to drop the packets after TL1 level (SQM) instead of polling for the packets to be sent out of RPM/CGX link. 2024-09-06octeontx2-af: Pass string literal as format argument of alloc_workqueue()Simon Horman1-2/+2
Recently I noticed that both gcc-14 and clang-18 report that passing a non-string literal as the format argument of alloc_workqueue() is potentially insecure. E.g. clang-18 says: .../rvu.c:2493:32: warning: format string is not a string literal (potentially insecure) [-Wformat-security] 2493 | mw->mbox_wq = alloc_workqueue(name, | ^~~~ .../rvu.c:2493:32: note: treat the string as an argument to avoid this 2493 | mw->mbox_wq = alloc_workqueue(name, | ^ | "%s", It is always the case where the contents of name is safe to pass as the format argument. That is, in my understanding, it never contains any format escape sequences. But, it seems better to be safe than sorry. And, as a bonus, compiler output becomes less verbose by addressing this issue as suggested by clang-18. Compile tested only by author. 2024-08-22octeontx2-af: Fix CPT AF register offset calculationBharat Bhushan1-12/+11
Some CPT AF registers are per LF and others are global. Translation of PF/VF local LF slot number to actual LF slot number is required only for accessing perf LF registers. 2024-06-05octeontx2-af: Add debugfs support to dump NIX TM topologyAnshumali Gaur3-0/+373
This patch adds support to dump NIX transmit queue topology. There are multiple levels of scheduling/shaping supported by NIX and a packet traverses through multiple levels before sending the packet out. At each level, there are set of scheduling/shaping rules applied to a packet flow. Each packet traverses through multiple levels SQ->SMQ->TL4->TL3->TL2->TL1 and these levels are mapped in a parent-child relationship. This patch dumps the debug information related to all TM Levels in the following way. Example: $ echo <nixlf> > /sys/kernel/debug/octeontx2/nix/tm_tree $ cat /sys/kernel/debug/octeontx2/nix/tm_tree A more desriptive set of registers at each level can be dumped in the following way. 2024-05-22tracing/treewide: Remove second parameter of __assign_str()Steven Rostedt (Google)1-6/+6
With the rework of how the __string() handles dynamic strings where it saves off the source string in field in the helper structure[1], the assignment of that value to the trace event field is stored in the helper value and does not need to be passed in again. This means that with: __string(field, mystring) Which use to be assigned with __assign_str(field, mystring), no longer needs the second parameter and it is unused. With this, __assign_str() will now only get a single parameter. There's over 700 users of __assign_str() and because coccinelle does not handle the TRACE_EVENT() macro I ended up using the following sed script: git grep -l __assign_str | while read a ; do sed -e 's/\(__assign_str([^,]*[^ ,]\) *,[^;]*/\1)/' $a > /tmp/test-file; mv /tmp/test-file $a; done I then searched for __assign_str() that did not end with ';' as those were multi line assignments that the sed script above would fail to catch. Note, the same updates will need to be done for: __assign_str_len() __assign_rel_str() __assign_rel_str_len() I tested this with both an allmodconfig and an allyesconfig (build only for both). 2024-03-28Octeontx2-af: fix pause frame configuration in GMP modeHariprasad Kelam1-0/+5
The Octeontx2 MAC block (CGX) has separate data paths (SMU and GMP) for different speeds, allowing for efficient data transfer. The previous patch which added pause frame configuration has a bug due to which pause frame feature is not working in GMP mode. This patch fixes the issue by configurating appropriate registers. 2024-03-20octeontx2-af: Use separate handlers for interruptsSubbaraya Sundeep1-3/+14
For PF to AF interrupt vector and VF to AF vector same interrupt handler is registered which is causing race condition. When two interrupts are raised to two CPUs at same time then two cores serve same event corrupting the data. 2024-03-20octeontx2: Detect the mbox up or down message via registerSubbaraya Sundeep6-18/+84
A single line of interrupt is used to receive up notifications and down reply messages from AF to PF (similarly from PF to its VF). PF acts as bridge and forwards VF messages to AF and sends respsones back from AF to VF. When an async event like link event is received by up message when PF is in middle of forwarding VF message then mailbox errors occur because PF state machine is corrupted. Since VF is a separate driver or VF driver can be in a VM it is not possible to serialize from the start of communication at VF. Hence to differentiate between type of messages at PF this patch makes sender to set mbox data register with distinct values for up and down messages. Sender also checks whether previous interrupt is received before triggering current interrupt by waiting for mailbox data register to become zero. 2024-02-21octeontx2-af: Consider the action set by PFSubbaraya Sundeep1-0/+4
AF reserves MCAM entries for each PF, VF present in the system and populates the entry with DMAC and action with default RSS so that basic packet I/O works. Since PF/VF is not aware of the RSS action installed by AF, AF only fixup the actions of the rules installed by PF/VF with corresponding default RSS action. This worked well for rules installed by PF/VF for features like RX VLAN offload and DMAC filters but rules involving action like drop/forward to queue are also getting modified by AF. Hence fix it by setting the default RSS action only if requested by PF/VF.
