2021-03-26RDMA: Support more than 255 rdma portsMark Bloch1-3/+3
Current code uses many different types when dealing with a port of a RDMA device: u8, unsigned int and u32. Switch to u32 to clean up the logic. This allows us to make (at least) the core view consistent and use the same type. Unfortunately not all places can be converted. Many uverbs functions expect port to be u8 so keep those places in order not to break UAPIs. HW/Spec defined values must also not be changed. With the switch to u32 we now can support devices with more than 255 ports. U32_MAX is reserved to make control logic a bit easier to deal with. As a device with U32_MAX ports probably isn't going to happen any time soon this seems like a non issue. When a device with more than 255 ports is created uverbs will report the RDMA device as having 255 ports as this is the max currently supported. The verbs interface is not changed yet because the IBTA spec limits the port size in too many places to be u8 and all applications that relies in verbs won't be able to cope with this change. At this stage, we are extending the interfaces that are using vendor channel solely Once the limitation is lifted mlx5 in switchdev mode will be able to have thousands of SFs created by the device. As the only instance of an RDMA device that reports more than 255 ports will be a representor device and it exposes itself as a RAW Ethernet only device CM/MAD/IPoIB and other ULPs aren't effected by this change and their sysfs/interfaces that are exposes to userspace can remain unchanged. While here cleanup some alignment issues and remove unneeded sanity checks (mainly in rdmavt), Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210301070420.439400-1-leon@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Mark Bloch <mbloch@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Leon Romanovsky <leonro@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Jason Gunthorpe <jgg@nvidia.com>

2018-06-18RDMA: Convert drivers to use the AH's sgid_attr in post_wr pathsParav Pandit1-4/+1
For UD the drivers were doing a sgid_index lookup into the cache to get the attrs, however we can now directly access the same attrs stores in the ib_ah instead and remove the lookup. 2017-05-01IB/core: Define 'ib' and 'roce' rdma_ah_attr typesDasaratharaman Chandramouli1-0/+1
rdma_ah_attr can now be either ib or roce allowing core components to use one type or the other and also to define attributes unique to a specific type. struct ib_ah is also initialized with the type when its first created. This ensures that calls such as modify_ah dont modify the type of the address handle attribute. 2017-05-01IB/core: Rename struct ib_ah_attr to rdma_ah_attrDasaratharaman Chandramouli1-2/+2
This patch simply renames struct ib_ah_attr to rdma_ah_attr as these fields specify attributes that are not necessarily specific to IB. 2007-05-19IB/mthca: Set GRH:HopLimit when building MLX headersRolf Manderscheid1-0/+1
Global CM packets used by rmda_cm were being sent with a GRH:hopLimit of zero, causing them to be dropped by the router. The problem is a missing initialization of the hop_limit field in mthca_read_ah(), which was called by build_mlx_header() when sending a MAD on QP1. 2006-11-29IB/mthca: Fix section mismatchesRoland Dreier1-2/+1
Commit b3b30f5e ("IB/mthca: Recover from catastrophic errors") introduced some section mismatch breakage, because the error recovery code tears down and reinitializes the device, which calls into lots of code originally marked __devinit and __devexit from regular .text. Fix this by getting rid of these now-incorrect section markers. Reported by Randy Dunlap <randy.dunlap@oracle.com>. Signed-off-by: Roland Dreier <rolandd@cisco.com>

2006-07-14[PATCH] IB/mthca: fix static rate returned by mthca_ah_queryJack Morgenstein1-2/+3
mthca_ah_query returs the static rate of the address handle in internal mthc format. fix it to use rate encoding from enum ib_rate, which is what users expect. 2006-04-10IB: simplify static rate encodingJack Morgenstein1-1/+99
Push translation of static rate to HCA format into low-level drivers, where it belongs. For static rate encoding, use encoding of rate field from IB standard PathRecord, with addition of value 0, for backwards compatibility with current usage. The changes are: - Add enum ib_rate to midlayer includes. - Get rid of static rate translation in IPoIB; just use static rate directly from Path and MulticastGroup records. - Update mthca driver to translate absolute static rate into the format used by hardware. This also fixes mthca's static rate handling for HCAs that are capable of 4X DDR. Signed-off-by: Jack Morgenstein <jackm@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: Roland Dreier <rolandd@cisco.com>
2006-03-29IB/mthca: Fix section mismatch problemsRoland Dreier1-1/+1

2005-10-30[PATCH] fix missing includesTim Schmielau1-0/+2
I recently picked up my older work to remove unnecessary #includes of sched.h, starting from a patch by Dave Jones to not include sched.h from module.h. This reduces the number of indirect includes of sched.h by ~300. Another ~400 pointless direct includes can be removed after this disentangling (patch to follow later). However, quite a few indirect includes need to be fixed up for this. In order to feed the patches through -mm with as little disturbance as possible, I've split out the fixes I accumulated up to now (complete for i386 and x86_64, more archs to follow later) and post them before the real patch. This way this large part of the patch is kept simple with only adding #includes, and all hunks are independent of each other. So if any hunk rejects or gets in the way of other patches, just drop it. My scripts will pick it up again in the next round. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
