2024-10-07drm/radeon: add late_register for connectorWu Hoi Pok1-7/+2
The patch is to solve null dereference in 'aux.dev', which is introduced in recent radeon rework. By having 'late_register', the connector should be registered after 'drm_dev_register' automatically, where in before it is the opposite. Fixes: 90985660ba48 ("drm/radeon: remove load callback from kms_driver") Closes: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/3665 Tested-by: Hans de Goede <hdegoede@redhat.com> Suggested-by: Christophe Leroy <christophe.leroy@csgroup.eu> Signed-off-by: Wu Hoi Pok <wuhoipok@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexander.deucher@amd.com> (cherry picked from commit b4c1ad70e279bacbc772a468033bdecce2f5e0dc)

2021-04-27drm/dp: Add backpointer to drm_device in drm_dp_auxLyude Paul1-0/+1
This is something that we've wanted for a while now: the ability to actually look up the respective drm_device for a given drm_dp_aux struct. This will also allow us to transition over to using the drm_dbg_*() helpers for debug message printing, as we'll finally have a drm_device to reference for doing so. Note that there is one limitation with this - because some DP AUX adapters exist as platform devices which are initialized independently of their respective DRM devices, one cannot rely on drm_dp_aux->drm_dev to always be non-NULL until drm_dp_aux_register() has been called. We make sure to point this out in the documentation for struct drm_dp_aux. v3: * Add WARN_ON_ONCE() to drm_dp_aux_register() if drm_dev isn't filled out Signed-off-by: Lyude Paul <lyude@redhat.com> Acked-by: Thierry Reding <treding@nvidia.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20210423184309.207645-4-lyude@redhat.com Reviewed-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>

2017-10-31drm/radeon: fix atombios on big endianRoman Kapl1-20/+18
The function for byteswapping the data send to/from atombios was buggy for num_bytes not divisible by four. The function must be aware of the fact that after byte-swapping the u32 units, valid bytes might end up after the num_bytes boundary. This patch was tested on kernel 3.12 and allowed us to sucesfully use DisplayPort on and Radeon SI card. Namely it fixed the link training and EDID readout. The function is patched both in radeon and amd drivers, since the functions and the fixes are identical. 2016-08-08drm/radeon: Don't retry 7 times in radeon_dp_dpcd()Lyude1-11/+10
When this code was written, we didn't retry DP aux transactions on any error, which required retrying important transactions like this in individual drivers. Since that's no longer the case, retrying here is not necessary. As well, we retry any aux transaction on any error 32 times. 7 * 32 = 224, which means this loop causes us to retry grabbing the dpcd 224 times. This is definitely far more then we actually need to do.
