2022-02-09spi: make remove callback a void functionUwe Kleine-König1-3/+1
The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. Common pattern of handling deferred probe can be simplified with dev_err_probe(). Less code and also it prints the error value. Signed-off-by: Krzysztof Kozlowski <[email protected]> Reviewed-by: Andy Shevchenko <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Bartosz Golaszewski <[email protected]>

2019-11-07gpio: Use new GPIO_LINE_DIRECTIONMatti Vaittinen1-1/+1
It's hard for occasional GPIO code reader/writer to know if values 0/1 equal to IN or OUT. Use defined GPIO_LINE_DIRECTION_IN and GPIO_LINE_DIRECTION_OUT to help them out. NOTE - for gpio-amd-fch and gpio-bd9571mwv: This commit also changes the return value for direction get to equal 1 for direction INPUT. Prior this commit these drivers might have returned some other positive value but 1 for INPUT.
