2015-06-21MIPS: Loongson: Naming style cleanup and reworkHuacai Chen1-92/+0
Currently, code of Loongson-2/3 is under loongson directory and code of Loongson-1 is under loongson1 directory. Besides, there are Kconfig options such as MACH_LOONGSON and MACH_LOONGSON1. This naming style is very ugly and confusing. Since Loongson-2/3 are both 64-bit general- purpose CPU while Loongson-1 is 32-bit SoC, we rename both file names and Kconfig symbols from loongson/loongson1 to loongson64/loongson32. 2014-03-31MIPS: Loongson: Add UEFI-like firmware interface (LEFI) supportHuacai Chen1-0/+21
The new UEFI-like firmware interface (LEFI, i.e. Loongson Unified Firmware Interface) has 3 advantages: 1, Firmware export a physical memory map which is similar to X86's E820 map, so prom_init_memory() will be more elegant that #ifdef clauses can be removed. 2, Firmware export a pci irq routing table, we no longer need pci irq routing fixup in kernel's code. 3, Firmware has a built-in vga bios, and its address is exported, the linux kernel no longer need an embedded blob. With the LEFI interface, Loongson-3A/2G and all their successors can use a unified kernel. All Loongson-based machines support this new interface except 2E/2F series. Having received another series of whitespace patches I decided to do this once and for all rather than dealing with this kind of patches trickling in forever. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <[email protected]>
2010-04-30MIPS: Loongson 2F: Fix of problems introduced by -mfix-loongson2f-jumpWu Zhangjin1-1/+19
The -mfix-loongson2f-jump option provided by latest CVS binutils have fixed the out-of-order issue of Loongson-2F described in chapter 15 of the Loongson2F User Manual [1, 2], but introduced some problems. The option changes all of the jump target to "addr & 0xcfffffff" through the at($1) register, but for the reboot address of Loongson 2F 0xbfc00000 this is wrong. Avoids the problem via telling the assembler to not use the $at register. 2010-02-27MIPS: Loongson: Cleanup the halt and poweroff actionWu Zhangjin1-2/+11
In the old source code, I have let halt and poweroff do the same action, but in reality, they have different meanings. As the manpage of shutdown shows: -r Reboot after shutdown. -H Halt action is to halt or drop into boot monitor on systems that support it. -P Halt action is to turn off the power. and in the real world, some machines(e.g. NAS) did not provide a power button and the shutdown works as reset, so, we need to provide a mechanism to let the users turn off the power safely without breaking the system, such a mechanism is "halt", which only put the system into a dead loop or a power-save mode and print some information to the screen to tell the users to turn off the power safely. $ shutdown -hH now /* loongson_halt, not turn off the power */ $ shutdown -hP now /* loongson_poweroff, work as poweroff */ Signed-off-by: Wu Zhangjin <[email protected]> Tested-by: Liu Shiwei <[email protected]> Cc: Liu Shiwei <[email protected]> Cc: linux-mips <[email protected]> Patchwork: http://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/883/ Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <[email protected]>

2009-12-17MIPS: Bonito64: Make Loongson independent from Bonito64 code.Wu Zhangjin1-1/+1
The built-in Loongson 2E/2F northbridge in is bonito64-compatible but not identical with it. To avoid influencing the original bonito64 support and make the loongson support more maintainable, it's better to separate the Bonito64 code from the Loongson code. This also prepares the kernel for the coming Loongson 2f machines family support. 2009-09-17MIPS: Loongson: Split common loongson source code outWu Zhangjin1-0/+44
To share common loongson source code between all of the loongson-based machines. there is a need to split it out of the fuloong-2e/ directory. at the same time, other according tuning is needed. the machine-specific parts are defined as macros in relative header file, pci.h, mem.h, machine.h.
