2023-06-21ARM: dts: Move .dts files to vendor sub-directoriesRob Herring1-488/+0
The arm dts directory has grown to 1559 boards which makes it a bit unwieldy to maintain and use. Past attempts stalled out due to plans to move .dts files out of the kernel tree. Doing that is no longer planned (any time soon at least), so let's go ahead and group .dts files by vendors. This move aligns arm with arm64 .dts file structure. There's no change to dtbs_install as the flat structure is maintained on install. The naming of vendor directories is roughly in this order of preference: - Matching original and current SoC vendor prefix/name (e.g. ti, qcom) - Current vendor prefix/name if still actively sold (SoCs which have been aquired) (e.g. nxp/imx) - Existing platform name for older platforms not sold/maintained by any company (e.g. gemini, nspire) The whole move was scripted with the exception of MAINTAINERS and a few makefile fixups. 2022-11-15ARM: dts: rockchip: disable arm_global_timer on rk3066 and rk3188Johan Jonker1-0/+7
The clock source and the sched_clock provided by the arm_global_timer on Rockchip rk3066a/rk3188 are quite unstable because their rates depend on the CPU frequency. Recent changes to the arm_global_timer driver makes it impossible to use. On the other side, the arm_global_timer has a higher rating than the ROCKCHIP_TIMER, it will be selected by default by the time framework while we want to use the stable Rockchip clock source. Keep the arm_global_timer disabled in order to have the DW_APB_TIMER (rk3066a) or ROCKCHIP_TIMER (rk3188) selected by default. With grf.txt converted to YAML a lot of compatibles did not have 'simple-mfd' added in the old binding. That implies that if you have child nodes they need to be documented. Make the new layout fit for rk3066/rk3188, move and restyle the grf nodes. Remove rockchip,grf from usbphy node. Add "#phy-cells", because it is a required property by phy-provider.yaml With the conversion of syscon.yaml minItems for compatibles was set to 2. Current Rockchip rk3xxx.dtsi file only uses "syscon" for the grf registers. 2021-01-26ARM: dts: rockchip: Remove bogus "amba" bus nodesRobin Murphy1-44/+37
The "amba" bus nodes wrapping all the DMA-330 nodes serve no useful purpose, and certainly bear no relation at all to the actual underlying interconnect topology. They appear to be cargo-cult copying from a design misstep in the very early days of FDT adoption on ARM, which was righted with the "arm,primecell" compatible, and the last trace of the idea finally purged by commit 2ef7d5f342c1 ("ARM, ARM64: dts: drop "arm,amba-bus" in favor of "simple-bus""). As such, they can simply be removed and the DMA-330 nodes fitted into the normal sort order. In the new setup rockchip-dw-mshc.yaml will inherit properties from mmc-controller.yaml and synopsys-dw-mshc-common.yaml. 2018-11-05ARM: dts: rockchip: add qos nodes found on rk3066 and rk3188Heiko Stuebner1-0/+40
QoS nodes keep information about priorites etc on the interconnect and loose state when the power-domain gets disabled. Therefore the power-domain driver stores the settings of available qos nodes and restores them when the power-domain gets enabled again. 2017-03-22ARM: dts: rockchip: fix PPI misconfiguration on Cortex-A9 socsHeiko Stuebner1-2/+2
According to [0] pointed out by Marc Zyngier in a report about a similar error message, PPIs 11 and 13 are edge triggered on Cortex-A9 socs including the rk3066 and rk3188 which currently mark them as level triggered. Until some time ago the gic did not care but commit 992345a58e0c ("irqchip/gic: WARN if setting the interrupt type for a PPI fails") introduced a warning for that case. Fix the warning on these socs by describing the interrupts correctly and also using the binding constants for easier reading in the future. The skeleton.dtsi file was removed in ARM64 for different reasons as explained in commit ("3ebee5a2e141 arm64: dts: kill skeleton.dtsi"). These also applies to ARM and it will also allow to get rid of the following DTC warnings in the future: "Node /memory has a reg or ranges property, but no unit name" The disassembled DTB are almost the same, besides empty chosen nodes being removed. The compatible string "simple-bus" is well defined in ePAPR, while I see no documentation for the "arm,amba-bus" arnywhere in ePAPR or Documentation/devicetree/. DT is also used by other projects than Linux kernel. It is not a good idea to rely on such an unofficial binding. This is the result of discussions back in Chicago, and the hard work of several individuals. Now, when the ->ndo_start_xmit() method of a driver sees skb->xmit_more as true, it can choose to defer the doorbell telling the driver to start processing the new TX queue entires. skb->xmit_more means that the generic networking is guaranteed to call the driver immediately with another SKB to send. There is logic added to the qdisc layer to dequeue multiple packets at a time, and the handling mis-predicted offloads in software is now done with no locks held. Finally, pktgen is extended to have a "burst" parameter that can be used to test a multi-send implementation.
