2024-02-13dt-bindings: display: rockchip: rockchip,dw-hdmi: remove port propertyJohan Jonker1-4/+20
The hdmi-connector nodes are now functional and the new way to model hdmi ports nodes with both in and output port subnodes. Unfortunately with the conversion to YAML the old method with only an input port node was used. Later the new method was also added to the binding. A binding must be unambiguously, so remove the old port property entirely and make port@0 and port@1 a requirement as all upstream dts files are updated as well and because checking deprecated stuff is a bit pointless. Update the example to avoid use of the removed property. 2022-05-04dt-bindings: display: rockchip: dw-hdmi: fix ports descriptionSascha Hauer1-15/+9
Current port description doesn't cover all possible cases. It currently expects one single port with two endpoints. When the HDMI connector is described in the device tree there can be two ports, first one going to the VOP and the second one going to the connector. Also on SoCs which only have a single VOP there will be only one endpoint instead of two. This patch addresses both issues. With this there can either be a single port ("port") , or two of them ("port@0", "port@1") when the connector is also in the device tree. Also the first or only port can either have one endpoint ("endpoint") for single VOP SoCs or two ("endpoint@0", "endpoint@1") for dual VOP SoCs. 2022-02-04dt-bindings: Improve phandle-array schemasRob Herring1-0/+2
The 'phandle-array' type is a bit ambiguous. It can be either just an array of phandles or an array of phandles plus args. Many schemas for phandle-array properties aren't clear in the schema which case applies though the description usually describes it. The array of phandles case boils down to needing: items: maxItems: 1 The phandle plus args cases should typically take this form: items: - items: - description: A phandle - description: 1st arg cell - description: 2nd arg cell With this change, some examples need updating so that the bracketing of property values matches the schema. 2021-06-21dt-bindings: Drop redundant minItems/maxItemsRob Herring1-2/+0
If a property has an 'items' list, then a 'minItems' or 'maxItems' with the same size as the list is redundant and can be dropped. Note that is DT schema specific behavior and not standard json-schema behavior. The tooling will fixup the final schema adding any unspecified minItems/maxItems. This condition is partially checked with the meta-schema already, but only if both 'minItems' and 'maxItems' are equal to the 'items' length. An improved meta-schema is pending. This was tested and verified on ARM and ARM64 with: make dt_binding_check DT_SCHEMA_FILES=Documentation/devicetree/bindings/display/rockchip/rockchip-drm.yaml make dtbs_check DT_SCHEMA_FILES=Documentation/devicetree/bindings/display/rockchip/rockchip-drm.yaml Changes since v2: - add a missing ">" sign in maintainers list - change the licens to GPL-2.0-only - add "additionalProperties: false" - change the commit message to conform that it was tested on both ARM and ARM64 Changes since v1: - fixed worng sign-off - fixed the path of the $id property to be the path of the yaml file Signed-off-by: Dafna Hirschfeld <[email protected]> Reviewed-by: Rob Herring <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Heiko Stuebner <[email protected]> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/[email protected]
2020-01-05dt-bindings: display: rockchip-lvds: Document PX30 PHYMiquel Raynal1-0/+3
PX30 SoCs use a single PHY shared by two display pipelines: MIPI DSI and LVDS. In the case of the LVDS IP, document the possibility to fill a PHY handle. 2019-12-16dt-bindings: display: rockchip-dsi: add px30 compatibleHeiko Stuebner1-2/+4
The px30 SoC also uses a dw-mipi-dsi controller, so add the compatible value for it. changes in v5: - rebased on top of 5.5-rc1 - merged with dsi timing change to prevent ordering conflicts Signed-off-by: Heiko Stuebner <[email protected]> Acked-by: Rob Herring <[email protected]> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/[email protected]
2019-12-16dt-bindings: display: rockchip-dsi: document external physHeiko Stuebner1-2/+5
Some dw-mipi-dsi instances in Rockchip SoCs use external dphys. In these cases the needs clock will also be generated externally so these don't need the ref-clock as well. changes in v5: - rebased on top of 5.5-rc1 - merged with dsi timing change to prevent ordering conflicts Signed-off-by: Heiko Stuebner <[email protected]> Reviewed-by: Rob Herring <[email protected]> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/[email protected]

The panel bindings are outside the scope of the Rockchip LVDS interface binding. The references are about to change too, so rather than update them just drop the section on the panel bindings. 2019-06-14drm/rockchip: dw_hdmi: add basic rk3228 supportJustin Swartz1-0/+1
Like the RK3328, RK322x SoCs offer a Synopsis DesignWare HDMI transmitter and an Innosilicon HDMI PHY. Add a new dw_hdmi_plat_data struct, rk3228_hdmi_drv_data. Assign a set of mostly generic rk3228_hdmi_phy_ops functions. Add dw_hdmi_rk3228_setup_hpd() to enable the HDMI HPD and DDC lines. 2019-06-05dt-bindings: drm/bridge/synopsys: dw-hdmi: Add "unwedge" for ddc busDouglas Anderson1-0/+7
In certain situations it was seen that we could wedge up the DDC bus on the HDMI adapter on rk3288. The only way to unwedge was to mux one of the pins over to GPIO output-driven-low temporarily and then quickly mux back. Full details can be found in the patch ("drm/bridge/synopsys: dw-hdmi: Add "unwedge" for ddc bus"). Since unwedge requires remuxing the pins, we first need to add to the bindings so that we can specify what state the pins should be in for unwedging.
