This patch adds tests for the verifier's tracking for spilled, <8B
registers. The first two test cases ensure the verifier doesn't
incorrectly prune states in case of <8B spill/fills. The last one simply
checks that a filled u64 register is marked unknown if the register
spilled in the same slack slot was less than 8B.
The map value access at the end of the first program is only incorrect
for the path R6=32. If the precision bit for register R8 isn't
backtracked through the u32 spill/fill, the R6=32 path is pruned at
instruction 9 and the program is incorrectly accepted. The second
program is a variation of the same with u32 spills and a u64 fill.
The additional instructions to introduce the first pruning point may be
a bit fragile as they depend on the heuristics for pruning points in the
verifier (currently at least 8 instructions and 2 jumps). If the
heuristics are changed, the pruning point may move (e.g., to the
subsequent jump) or disappear, which would cause the test to always pass.

Add an x86 selftest to verify that KVM doesn't WARN or otherwise explode
if userspace modifies RCX during a userspace exit to handle string I/O.
This is a regression test for a user-triggerable WARN introduced by
commit 3b27de271839 ("KVM: x86: split the two parts of emulator_pio_in").

AMD proceessors define an address range that is reserved by HyperTransport
and causes a failure if used for guest physical addresses. Avoid
selftests failures by reserving those guest physical addresses; the
rules are:
- On parts with <40 bits, its fully hidden from software.
- Before Fam17h, it was always 12G just below 1T, even if there was more
RAM above this location. In this case we just not use any RAM above 1T.
- On Fam17h and later, it is variable based on SME, and is either just
below 2^48 (no encryption) or 2^43 (encryption).

Teach objtool to turn instrumentation required for memory barrier
modeling into nops in noinstr text.
The __tsan_func_entry/exit calls are still emitted by compilers even
with the __no_sanitize_thread attribute. The memory barrier
instrumentation will be inserted explicitly (without compiler help), and
thus needs to also explicitly be removed.

INTERCEPT_x are bit positions, but the code was using the raw value of
INTERCEPT_VINTR (4) instead of BIT(INTERCEPT_VINTR).
This resulted in masking of bit 2 - that is, SMI instead of VINTR.

Clean up remaining headers that are specific to liblockdep but lived in
the shared header directory. These are all unused after the liblockdep
code was removed in commit 7246f4dcaccc ("tools/lib/lockdep: drop
liblockdep").
Note that there are still headers that were originally created for
liblockdep, that still have liblockdep references, but they are used by
other tools/ code at this point.

A mis-match between reported and actual mitigation is not restricted to the
Vulnerable case. The guest might also report the mitigation as "Software
count cache flush" and the host will still mitigate with branch cache
disabled.
So, instead of skipping depending on the detected mitigation, simply skip
whenever the detected miss_percent is the expected one for a fully
mitigated system, that is, above 95%.

bpf_create_map is deprecated. Replace it with bpf_map_create. Also add a
__weak bpf_map_create() so that when older version of libbpf is linked as
a shared library, it falls back to bpf_create_map().

Teach objtool to validate the straight-line-speculation constraints:
- speculation trap after indirect calls
- speculation trap after RET
Notable: when an instruction is annotated RETPOLINE_SAFE, indicating
speculation isn't a problem, also don't care about sls for that
instruction.

This commit adds BPF verifier selftests that cover all corner cases by
packet boundary checks. Specifically, 8-byte packet reads are tested at
the beginning of data and at the beginning of data_meta, using all kinds
of boundary checks (all comparison operators: <, >, <=, >=; both
permutations of operands: data + length compared to end, end compared to
data + length). For each case there are three tests:
1. Length is just enough for an 8-byte read. Length is either 7 or 8,
depending on the comparison.
2. Length is increased by 1 - should still pass the verifier. These
cases are useful, because they failed before commit 2fa7d94afc1a
("bpf: Fix the off-by-two error in range markings").
3. Length is decreased by 1 - should be rejected by the verifier.
Some existing tests are just renamed to avoid duplication.

In previous patch, we have supported the syntax which enables
the event on a specified pmu, such as:
cpu_core/<event>/
cpu_atom/<event>/
While this syntax is not very easy for applying on a set of
events or applying on a group. In following example, we have to
explicitly assign the pmu prefix.
# ./perf stat -e '{cpu_core/cycles/,cpu_core/instructions/}' -- sleep 1

It's possible to link against libopencsd_c_api without having
libstdc++.so available, only libstdc++.so.6.0.28 (or whatever version is
in use) needs to be available. The same holds true for libopencsd.so.
When -lstdc++ (or -lopencsd) is explicitly passed to the linker however
the .so file must be available.
So wrap adding the dependencies into a check for static linking that
actually requires adding them all. The same construct is already used
for some other tests in the same file to reduce dependencies in the
dynamic linking case.

Currently topdown events must appear after a slots event:
$ perf stat -e '{slots,topdown-fe-bound}' /bin/true

Reversing the events yields:
$ perf stat -e '{topdown-fe-bound,slots}' /bin/true

The sys_perf_event_open() syscall returned with 22 (Invalid argument) for event (topdown-fe-bound).
For metrics the order of events is determined by iterating over a
hashmap, and so slots isn't guaranteed to be first which can yield this
error.
Change the set_leader in parse-events, called when a group is closed, so
that rather than always making the first event the leader, if the slots
event exists then it is made the leader. It is then moved to the head of
the evlist otherwise it won't be opened in the correct order.
The result is:
$ perf stat -e '{topdown-fe-bound,slots}' /bin/true
Performance counter stats for '/bin/true':
3,274,795 slots
1,001,702 topdown-fe-bound
A problem with this approach is the slots event is identified by name,
names can be overwritten like 'cpu/slots,name=foo/' and this causes the
leader change to fail.
The change also modifies and fixes mixed groups like, with the change:
$ perf stat -e '{instructions,slots,topdown-fe-bound}' -a -- sleep 2
Performance counter stats for 'system wide':
5574985410 slots
971981616 instructions

The leader of a group is the first, but allow it to be an arbitrary list
member so that for Intel topdown events slots may always be the group
leader.

It is common to use the same counters with and without duration_time.
The ID sharing code treats duration_time as if it were a hardware event
placed in the same group. This causes unnecessary multiplexing such as
in the following example where l3_cache_access isn't shared:

AMD processors have events with event select codes and unit masks larger
than a byte. The core PMU, for example, uses 12-bit event select codes
split between bits 0-7 and 32-35 of the PERF_CTL MSRs as can be seen
from /sys/bus/event_sources/devices/cpu/format/*.
The Processor Programming Reference (PPR) lists the event codes as
unified 12-bit hexadecimal values instead and the split between the bits
is not apparent to someone who is not aware of the layout of the
PERF_CTL MSRs.
8-bit event select codes continue to work as the layout matches that of
the PERF_CTL MSRs i.e. bits 0-7 for event select and 8-15 for unit mask.
This adds more details in the perf man pages about using
/sys/bus/event_sources/devices/*/format/* for determining the correct
raw event encoding scheme.
E.g. the "op_cache_hit_miss.op_cache_hit" event with code 0x28f and
umask 0x03 can be programmed using its symbolic name as:

The tools build system uses KBUILD_HOSTCFLAGS symbol for obvious purposes.
However this is not set for anything under tools/
As such, host tools apps built have no compiler warnings enabled.
Declare HOSTCFLAGS for perf tools build, and also use that symbol in
declaration of host_c_flags. HOSTCFLAGS comes from EXTRA_WARNINGS, which
is independent of target platform/arch warning flags.

Add basic stress test for sigtrap handling as a perf tool built-in test.
This allows sanity checking the basic sigtrap functionality from within

With the addition of multiple callback-flood kthreads, the maximum number
of callbacks from any one of those kthreads is reported in the rcutorture
run summary. This commit changes this to report the sum of each kthread's
maximum number of callbacks in a given callback-flooding episode.

The existing net,mac test didn't cover the issue recently reported
by Nikita Yushchenko, where MAC addresses wouldn't match if given
as first field of a concatenated set with AVX2 and 8-bit groups,
because there's a different code path covering the lookup of six
8-bit groups (MAC addresses) if that's the first field.
Add a similar mac,net test, with MAC address and IPv4 address
swapped in the set specification.

After the below patch, the conntrack attached to skb is set to "notrack" in
the context of vrf device, for locally generated packets.
But this is true only when the default qdisc is set to the vrf device. When
changing the qdisc, notrack is not set anymore.
In fact, there is a shortcut in the vrf driver, when the default qdisc is
set, see commit dcdd43c41e60 ("net: vrf: performance improvements for
IPv4") for more details.
This patch ensures that the behavior is always the same, whatever the qdisc
is.
To demonstrate the difference, a new test is added in conntrack_vrf.sh.

Check that getsockopt(IP_TOS) returns what setsockopt(IP_TOS) did set
right before.

client & server use a unix socket connection to communicate
outside of the mptcp connection.
This allows the consumer to know in advance how many bytes have been
(or will be) sent by the peer.
This allows stricter checks on the bytecounts reported by TCP_INQ cmsg.

Do checks on the returned inq counter.
Fail on:
1. Huge value (> 1 kbyte, test case files are 1 kb)
2. last hint larger than returned bytes when read was short
3. erronenous indication of EOF.
3) happens when a hint of X bytes reads X-1 on next call
but next recvmsg returns more data (instead of EOF).

Arnaldo reported that building all his containers with BUILD_BPF_SKEL=1
to then make this the default he found problems in some distros where
the system linux/bpf.h file was being used and lacked this:
util/bpf_skel/bperf_leader.bpf.c:13:20: error: use of undeclared identifier 'BPF_F_PRESERVE_ELEMS'

So use instead the vmlinux.h file generated by bpftool from BTF info.

These leaks were found with leak sanitizer running "perf pipe recording
and injection test".
In pipe mode feat_fd may hold onto an events struct that needs freeing.
When string features are processed they may overwrite an already created
string, so free this before the overwrite.

Otherwise load counting is an average. Without this change
duration_time in test_memory_bandwidth will alter its value if an
earlier test contains duration_time.
This patch fixes an issue that's introduced in the proposed patch:
