2013-11-12 | perf target: Shorten perf_target__ to target__ | Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo | 1 | -28/+26
Getting unwieldly long, for this app domain should be descriptive enough and the use of __ to separate the class from the method names should help with avoiding clashes with other code bases. 2012-09-05 | perf tools: Replace mempcpy with memcpy | Irina Tirdea | 1 | -2/+2
mempcpy is not supported by bionic in Android and will lead to compilation errors. Replacing mempcpy with memcpy so it will work in Android. 2012-08-01 | perf target: Fix check on buffer size | Namhyung Kim | 1 | -1/+1
It was a mistake just replace assert to BUG_ON since its condition should be negated. Fix it. Signed-off-by: Namhyung Kim <[email protected]> Cc: "Kirill A. 2012-07-25 | perf tools: use XSI-complaint version of strerror_r() instead of GNU-specific | Kirill A. Shutemov | 1 | -1/+10
Perf uses GNU-specific version of strerror_r(). The GNU-specific strerror_r() returns a pointer to a string containing the error message. This may be either a pointer to a string that the function stores in buf, or a pointer to some (immutable) static string (in which case buf is unused). In glibc-2.16 GNU version was marked with attribute warn_unused_result. It triggers few warnings in perf: util/target.c: In function ‘perf_target__strerror’: util/target.c:114:13: error: ignoring return value of ‘strerror_r’, declared with attribute warn_unused_result [-Werror=unused-result] ui/browsers/hists.c: In function ‘hist_browser__dump’: ui/browsers/hists.c:981:13: error: ignoring return value of ‘strerror_r’, declared with attribute warn_unused_result [-Werror=unused-result] They are bugs. Let's fix strerror_r() usage. Signed-off-by: Kirill A. 2012-05-07 | perf tools: Introduce perf_target__strerror() | Namhyung Kim | 1 | -0/+51
The perf_target__strerror() sets @buf to a string that describes the (perf_target-specific) error condition that is passed via @errnum. This is similar to strerror_r() and does same thing if @errnum has a standard errno value. 2012-05-07 | perf target: Introduce perf_target_errno | Namhyung Kim | 1 | -11/+22
The perf_target_errno enumerations are used to indicate specific error cases on perf target operations. It'd help libperf being a more generic library.
