If jump target is outside of function range, perf is not handling it
correctly. Especially when target address is lesser than function start
address, target offset will be negative. But, target address declared to
be unsigned, converts negative number into 2's complement. See below
example. Here target of 'jumpq' instruction at 34cf8 is 34ac0 which is
lesser than function start address(34cf0).

The disasm_line::name field is always equal to ins::name, being used
just to locate the instruction's ins_ops from the per-arch instructions
table.
Eliminate this duplication, nuking that field and instead make
ins__find() return an ins_ops, store it in disasm_line::ins.ops, and
keep just in disasm_line::ins.name what was in disasm_line::name, this
way we end up not keeping a reference to entries in the per-arch
instructions table.
This in turn will help supporting multiple ways to manage the per-arch
instructions table, allowing resorting that array, for instance, when
the entries will move after references to its addresses were made. The
same problem is avoided when one grows the array with realloc.
So architectures simply keeping a constant array will work as well as
architectures building the table using regular expressions or other
logic that involves resorting the table.

Introduce a 'struct arch', where arch specific stuff will live, starting
with objdump's choice of comment delimitation character, that is '#' in
x86 while a ';' in arm.

We were just using pr_error() which makes it difficult for non stdio UIs
to provide errors using its widgets, as they need to somehow catch what
was passed to pr_error().
Fix it by introducing a __strerror() interface like the ones used
elsewhere, for instance target__strerror().
This is just the initial step, more work will be done, but first some
error handling bugs noticed while working on this need to be dealt with.

This function will not annotate anything, it will just disassembly the
given map->dso and symbol.
It currently does this by parsing the output of 'objdump --disassemble',
but this could conceivably be done using a library or an offshot of
the kernel's instruction decoder (arch/x86/lib/inat.c), etc.

Introduce helper to detect 'ret' instructions and use the same in the TUI.

Lately util/config.h has been added but util/cache.h has declarations of
functions and a global variable for config features.
To manage codes about configuration at one spot, move them to
util/config.h and let source files that need config features include
config.h And if the source files that included previous cache.h need
only config.h, remove including cache.h.

USe 'jump_arrows' config name instead of 'code' on 'colors' section.
'colors.code' config is only for jump arrows on assembly code listings
i.e.

But this config name seems unfit.
'jump_arrows' is more descriptive than 'code'.

The perf_config() infrastructure we inherited from git calls die() when
the provided config callback returns -1, meaning some key in a config
section is unexpected, that seems ok for a stdio based tool, but in
--tui we end up messing up the output, so just tell the user about the
error, wait for a keystroke and return 0, being more resilient and
proceeding with what we managed to parse.
That die() needs to die, tho :-)

The annotate__configs should be sorted so that it can use bsearch(3).
However commit 0c4a5bcea460 ("perf annotate: Display total number of
samples with --show-total-period") added a new config item at the end.
This resulted in the 'annotate.use_offset' config variable cannot be
found and perf terminated like below:

Add two new columns to the annotate display and display the average
cycles and the compute IPC if available.
When the LBR was not in any branch mode the IPC computation is
automatically disabled. We still display the cycle information.

Compute the IPC and the basic block cycles for the annotate display.
IPC is computed by counting the instructions, and then dividing the
accounted cycles by that count.
The actual IPC computation can only be done at annotate time, because we
need to parse the objdump output first to know the number of
instructions in the basic block.
The cycles/IPC are also put into the perf function annotation so that
the display code can show them.
Again basic block overlaps are not handled, with the longest winning,
but there are some heuristics to hide the IPC when the longest is not
the most common.

To compare two records on an instruction base, with --show-total-period
option provided, display total number of samples that belong to a line
in assembly language.

It was inconvenient that perf cannot be quit with SIGINT during
processing samples on TUI especially for large data files.
This was because the first argument of SLang_init_tty(), abort_char,
being 0. The manual says it's the ascii value of the control character
that will be used to generate the interrupt signal [1]. Passing -1
means to use the default value (Ctrl-C).
However, after processing samples, Ctrl-C was used to in other cases as
well - like stepping back from annotate. So recover the original
behavior after processing.

With srcline key/sort'ing it's useful to have line numbers in the
annotate window. This patch implements this.
Use objdump -l to request the line numbers and save them in the line
structure. Then the browser displays them for source lines.
The line numbers are not displayed by default, but can be toggled on
with 'k'
There is one unfortunate problem with this setup. For lines not
containing source and which are outside functions objdump -l reports
line numbers off by a few: it always reports the first line number in
the next function even for lines that are outside the function.
I haven't found a nice way to detect/correct this. Probably objdump has
to be fixed.

The line numbers are still useful even with these problems, as most are
correct and the ones which are not are nearby.

When following a call, annotate_browser__callq() uses the current
symbol's map to look up the target ip. That will not work if the target
ip is on a map with a different mapping (i.e. start - pgoff is
different).

The previous description: "Search previous string" is usually associated
with the 'N' following a '/string', the opposite of 'n', which is
'Search next string' in the direction established with '/' or '?'.
So change it to 'Search string backwards', to clarify that.
The 'N' hotkey remains to be implemented with the semantic described
above.

Now that the map browser shares the input routine with the hists
browser, there is no need for using any libnewt routine, so remove all
traces except for honouring NO_NEWT=1 on the makefile command line as an
indication that TUI support is not needed, in fact it just sets
NO_SLANG=1.

Make percent field of struct browser_disasm_line an array and move it to

In tools/perf we use a convention where __ separates the struct name
from the function name for functions that operate on a struct instance.
Fix this usage by removing it from the struct names and fix also the
associated functions.

Factorize jump sanity checks from mark_jump_targets() and
draw_current_jump() in an is_valid_jump() function.
This fixes a segfault when moving the cursor over an invalid jump.

The perf annotate browser on TUI can identify a jump target for a
selected instruction. It assumes that the jump target is within the
function but it's not the case of PLT symbols which have offset out of
the function as a target.
Since it caused a segmentation fault, do not try to follow jump target
on the PLT symbols.

Currently various hist browser functions receive 3 arguments for
refreshing histogram but only used from a few places. Also it's only
for perf top command so that it can be NULL for other (and probably
most) cases. Pack them into a struct in order to reduce number of those
unused arguments.
This is a mechanical change and does not intend a functional change.

Integrate the script browser into annotation, users can press function
key 'r' to list all perf scripts and select one of them to run that
script, the output will be shown in a separate browser.

perf defines both __used and __unused variables to use for marking
unused variables. The variable __used is defined to
__attribute__((__unused__)), which contradicts the kernel definition to
__attribute__((__used__)) for new gcc versions. On Android, __used is
also defined in system headers and this leads to warnings like: warning:
'__used__' attribute ignored
__unused is not defined in the kernel and is not a standard definition.
If __unused is included everywhere instead of __used, this leads to
conflicts with glibc headers, since glibc has a variables with this name
in its headers.
The best approach is to use __maybe_unused, the definition used in the
kernel for __attribute__((unused)). In this way there is only one
definition in perf sources (instead of 2 definitions that point to the
same thing: __used and __unused) and it works on both Linux and Android.
This patch simply replaces all instances of __used and __unused with
__maybe_unused.

When hide_src_view is true we can't use browser_disasm_line->idx, that
takes into account also non asm lines, we must use browser_disasm_line->idx_asm
instead, otherwise we may end up with an index after the number of
entries, oops, fix it.

Just press 'J' and see how many places jump to jump targets.
The hottest jump target appears in red, targets with more than one
source have a different color than single source jump targets.
