2013-03-12ALSA: add/change some comments describing function return valuesYacine Belkadi1-1/+9
script/kernel-doc reports the following type of warnings (when run in verbose mode): Warning(sound/core/init.c:152): No description found for return value of 'snd_card_create' To fix that: - add missing descriptions of function return values - use "Return:" sections to describe those return values Along the way: - complete some descriptions - fix some typos Signed-off-by: Yacine Belkadi <yacine.belkadi.1@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2011-10-31sound: Add export.h for THIS_MODULE/EXPORT_SYMBOL where neededPaul Gortmaker1-0/+1
These aren't modules, but they do make use of these macros, so they will need export.h to get that definition. Previously, they got it via the implicit module.h inclusion. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>
2008-04-24[ALSA] sound: ac97_pcm.c fix shadowed variable warningHarvey Harrison1-1/+0
err is always assigned before it is used, no need to declare another inside the if statement. sound/pci/ac97/ac97_pcm.c:577:7: warning: symbol 'err' shadows an earlier one sound/pci/ac97/ac97_pcm.c:572:6: originally declared here Signed-off-by: Harvey Harrison <harvey.harrison@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2008-01-31[ALSA] Remove sound/driver.hTakashi Iwai1-1/+0
This header file exists only for some hacks to adapt alsa-driver tree. It's useless for building in the kernel. Let's move a few lines in it to sound/core.h and remove it. With this patch, sound/driver.h isn't removed but has just a single compile warning to include it. This should be really killed in future. 2007-10-16[ALSA] Changed Jaroslav Kysela's e-mail from perex@suse.cz to perex@perex.czJaroslav Kysela1-1/+1

2007-05-11[ALSA] ac97 - Make patch functions staticTakashi Iwai1-1/+0
Include ac97_patch.c from the main ac97_codec.c in order to make bunch of patch_*() functions static. This helps optimization. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Jaroslav Kysela <perex@suse.cz>
2006-09-23[ALSA] Add experimental support of aggressive AC97 power-saving modeTakashi Iwai1-0/+18
Added CONFIG_SND_AC97_POWER_SAVE kernel config to enable the support of aggressive AC97 power-saving mode. In this mode, the AC97 powerdown register bits are dynamically controlled at each open/close of PCM streams. The mode is activated via power_save option for snd-ac97-codec driver. As default it's off. It can be turned on/off on the fly via sysfs, too. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Jaroslav Kysela <perex@suse.cz>
2006-06-22[ALSA] ac97 - Move EXPORT_SYMBOL() to adjacent to each functionTakashi Iwai1-0/+10
Move EXPORT_SYMBOL() to adjacent to each exported function/variable. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2006-03-22[ALSA] semaphore -> mutex (PCI part)Ingo Molnar1-2/+4
Semaphore to mutex conversion. The conversion was generated via scripts, and the result was validated automatically via a script as well. Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
