Merge an ACPI power management change, ACPI backlight driver changes, APEI
updates and ACPI extlog driver changes for 6.8-rc1:
- Modify the ACPI LPIT table handling code to avoid u32 multiplication
overflows in state residency computations (Nikita Kiryushin).
- Drop an unused helper function from the ACPI backlight (video) driver
and add a clarifying comment to it (Hans de Goede).
- Update the ACPI backlight driver to avoid using uninitialized memory
in some cases (Nikita Kiryushin).
- Add ACPI backlight quirk for the Colorful X15 AT 23 laptop (Yuluo

Commit 41a5db8d8161 ("Add support for non-fix-size percpu mem allocation")
added support for non-fix-size percpu memory allocation.
Such allocation will allocate percpu memory for all buckets on all
cpus and the memory consumption is in the order to quadratic.
For example, let us say, 4 cpus, unit size 16 bytes, so each
cpu has 16 * 4 = 64 bytes, with 4 cpus, total will be 64 * 4 = 256 bytes.
Then let us say, 8 cpus with the same unit size, each cpu
has 16 * 8 = 128 bytes, with 8 cpus, total will be 128 * 8 = 1024 bytes.
So if the number of cpus doubles, the number of memory consumption
will be 4 times. So for a system with large number of cpus, the
memory consumption goes up quickly with quadratic order.
For example, for 4KB percpu allocation, 128 cpus. The total memory
consumption will 4KB * 128 * 128 = 64MB. Things will become
worse if the number of cpus is bigger (e.g., 512, 1024, etc.)
In Commit 41a5db8d8161, the non-fix-size percpu memory allocation is
done in boot time, so for system with large number of cpus, the initial
percpu memory consumption is very visible. For example, for 128 cpu
system, the total percpu memory allocation will be at least
(16 + 32 + 64 + 96 + 128 + 196 + 256 + 512 + 1024 + 2048 + 4096)
* 128 * 128 = ~138MB.
which is pretty big. It will be even bigger for larger number of cpus.
Note that the current prefill also allocates 4 entries if the unit size
is less than 256. So on top of 138MB memory consumption, this will
add more consumption with
3 * (16 + 32 + 64 + 96 + 128 + 196 + 256) * 128 * 128 = ~38MB.
Next patch will try to reduce this memory consumption.
Later on, Commit 1fda5bb66ad8 ("bpf: Do not allocate percpu memory
at init stage") moved the non-fix-size percpu memory allocation
to bpf verificaiton stage. Once a particular bpf_percpu_obj_new()
is called by bpf program, the memory allocator will try to fill in
the cache with all sizes, causing the same amount of percpu memory
consumption as in the boot stage.
To reduce the initial percpu memory consumption for non-fix-size
percpu memory allocation, instead of filling the cache with all
supported allocation sizes, this patch intends to fill the cache
only for the requested size. As typically users will not use large
percpu data structure, this can save memory significantly.
For example, the allocation size is 64 bytes with 128 cpus.
Then total percpu memory amount will be 64 * 128 * 128 = 1MB,
much less than previous 138MB.

The objcg is a bpf_mem_alloc level property since all bpf_mem_cache's
are with the same objcg. This patch made such a property explicit.
The next patch will use this property to save and restore objcg
for percpu unit allocator.

Bound actions always return '0' and as of today we rely on '0'
being returned in order to properly skip bound actions in
tcf_idr_insert_many. In order to further improve maintainability,
introduce the ACT_P_BOUND return code.
Actions are updated to return 'ACT_P_BOUND' instead of plain '0'.
tcf_idr_insert_many is then updated to check for 'ACT_P_BOUND'.

When fib_default_rule_add is invoked, the value of the input parameter
'flags' is always 0. Rules uses kzalloc to allocate memory, so 'flags' has
been initialized to 0. Therefore, remove the input parameter 'flags' in
fib_default_rule_add.

Add NULL checks to KUNIT_BINARY_STR_ASSERTION() so that it will fail
cleanly if either pointer is NULL, instead of causing a NULL pointer
dereference in the strcmp().
A test failure could be that a string is unexpectedly NULL. This could
be trapped by KUNIT_ASSERT_NOT_NULL() but that would terminate the test
at that point. It's preferable that the KUNIT_EXPECT_STR*() macros can
handle NULL pointers as a failure.

Swap the arguments to typecheck_fn() in kunit_activate_static_stub()
so that real_fn_addr can be either the function itself or a pointer
to that function.
This is useful to simplify redirecting static functions in a module.
Having to pass the actual function meant that it must be exported
from the module. Either making the 'static' and EXPORT_SYMBOL*()
conditional (which makes the code messy), or change it to always
exported (which increases the export namespace and prevents the
compiler inlining a trivial stub function in non-test builds).
With the original definition of kunit_activate_static_stub() the
address of real_fn_addr was passed to typecheck_fn() as the type to
be passed. This meant that if real_fn_addr was a pointer-to-function
it would resolve to a ** instead of a *, giving an error like this:

Swapping the arguments to typecheck_fn makes it take the type of a
pointer to the replacement function. Either a function or a pointer
to function can be assigned to that. For example:

an implicit '&' to take the address of the supplied function, and
in the second case the RHS is already a pointer to the same type.

Add a simple convenience helper to allocate and zero fill an SKB for the
use by a kunit test. Also provide a way to free it again in case that
may be desirable.
This simply mirrors the kunit_kmalloc API.

The existing KUNIT_ARRAY_PARAM macro requires a separate function to
get the description. However, in a lot of cases the description can
just be copied directly from the array. Add a second macro that
avoids having to write a static function just for a single strscpy.

Now that the driver core can properly handle constant struct bus_type,
move the nubus_bus_type variable to be a constant structure as well,
placing it into read-only memory which can not be modified at runtime.
It's also never used outside of drivers/nubus/bus.c so make it static
and don't export it as no one is using it.

In preparation for subsequent changes, introduce a specialized variant
of async_schedule_dev() that will not invoke the argument function
synchronously when it cannot be scheduled for asynchronous execution.
The new function, async_schedule_dev_nocall(), will be used for fixing
possible deadlocks in the system-wide power management core code.

Add a NO_CHANGE uAPI value for the new RXFH/RSS input_xfrm uAPI field.

The eMMC card can be set into write-protected mode to prevent data from
being accidentally modified or deleted. Wp_grp_size (Write Protect Group
Size) refers to an attribute of the eMMC card, used to manage write
protection and is the CSD register [36:32] of the eMMC device. Wp_grp_size
(Write Protect Group Size) indicates how many eMMC blocks are contained in
each write protection group on the eMMC card.
To allow userspace easy access of the CSD register bits, let's add sysfs
node "wp_grp_size".

commit 265b4da82dbf ("net/sched: Retire rsvp classifier") retired the TC RSVP
classifier.
Remove UAPI for it. Iproute2 will sync by equally removing it from user space.

The tc ipt action was intended to run all netfilter/iptables target.
Unfortunately it has not benefitted over the years from proper updates when
netfilter changes, and for that reason it has remained rudimentary.
Pinging a bunch of people that i was aware were using this indicates that
removing it wont affect them.
Retire it to reduce maintenance efforts. Buh-bye.

The struct bus_type pointer in hid_bpf_ops just passes the pointer to
the driver core, and the driver core can handle, and expects, a constant
pointer, so also make the pointer constant in hid_bpf_ops.
Part of the process of moving all usages of struct bus_type to be
constant to move them all to read-only memory.

Now that the driver core can properly handle constant struct bus_type,
move the hid_bus_type variable to be a constant structure as well,
placing it into read-only memory which can not be modified at runtime.

Introduce thermal_zone_device_critical_reboot() to trigger an
emergency reboot.
It is a counterpart of thermal_zone_device_critical() with the
difference that it will force a reboot instead of shutdown.
The motivation for doing this is to allow the thermal subystem
to trigger a reboot when the temperature reaches the critical
temperature.

As we have the ability to track the PHYs connected to a net_device
through the link_topology, we can expose this list to userspace. This
allows userspace to use these identifiers for phy-specific commands and
take the decision of which PHY to target by knowing the link topology.
Add PHY_GET and PHY_DUMP, which can be a filtered DUMP operation to list
devices on only one interface.

Some netlink commands are target towards ethernet PHYs, to control some
of their features. As there's several such commands, add the ability to
pass a PHY index in the ethnl request, which will populate the generic
ethnl_req_info with the relevant phydev when the command targets a PHY.
