2008-01-30SUNRPC: Move universal address definitions to global headerChuck Lever1-0/+39
Universal addresses are defined in RFC 1833 and clarified in RFC 3530. We need to use them in several places in the NFS and RPC clients, so move the relevant definition and block comment to an appropriate global include file. 2006-10-17[PATCH] knfsd: Allow lockd to drop replies as appropriateNeilBrown1-1/+3
It is possible for the ->fopen callback from lockd into nfsd to find that an answer cannot be given straight away (an upcall is needed) and so the request has to be 'dropped', to be retried later. That error status is not currently propagated back. So: Change nlm_fopen to return nlm error codes (rather than a private protocol) and define a new nlm_drop_reply code. Cause nlm_drop_reply to cause the rpc request to get rpc_drop_reply when this error comes back. Cause svc_process to drop a request which returns a status of rpc_drop_reply. 2006-10-04[PATCH] knfsd: Prepare knfsd for support of rsize/wsize of up to 1MB, over TCPGreg Banks1-0/+40
The limit over UDP remains at 32K. Also, make some of the apparently arbitrary sizing constants clearer. The biggest change here involves replacing NFSSVC_MAXBLKSIZE by a function of the rqstp. This allows it to be different for different protocols (udp/tcp) and also allows it to depend on the servers declared sv_bufsiz. Note that we don't actually increase sv_bufsz for nfs yet. That comes next. 2005-09-23[PATCH] RPC: skip over transport-specific heads automaticallyChuck Lever1-0/+25
Add a generic mechanism for skipping over transport-specific headers when constructing an RPC request. This removes another "xprt->stream" dependency. Test-plan: Write-intensive workload on a single mount point (try both UDP and TCP). Signed-off-by: Chuck Lever <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <[email protected]>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
