2013-06-06clk: ux500: Pass clock base adresses in initcall for u8540 and u9540Philippe Begnic1-2/+4

2013-06-04gpio-rcar: Add RCAR_GP_PIN macroLaurent Pinchart1-0/+2
Pins are numbered in the R-Car family documentation using a bank number and a pin number in the bank. As the Linux pin number space is linear, we need to flatten this by multiplying the bank number by 32 and adding the pin number. The resulting number bear no directly visible relationship to the documentation, making it error-prone. Add a RCAR_GP_PIN macro to convert from the documentation pin number space to the linear Linux space. 2013-06-04gpio-rcar: Add support for IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_BOTHSimon Horman1-0/+1
As hardware support for this feature is not universal for all SoCs a flag, has_both_edge_trigger, has been added to the platform data of the driver to allow this feature to be enabled. The motivation for this is to allow use of the gpio-keys driver on the lager board which is based on the r8a7790 SoC. The V2 of this patch has been fully exercised using that driver on that board. 2013-06-04gpio-rcar: Make the platform data gpio_base field signedLaurent Pinchart1-1/+1
The gpio_base field is used to specify the desired GPIO base for the GPIO controller. The GPIO core can automatically allocate a GPIO number range when the base is set to -1. To make this possible, make the field signed. Signed-off-by: Laurent Pinchart <[email protected]> Acked-by: Linus Walleij <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Simon Horman <[email protected]>
2013-06-04dmaengine: ste_dma40: Allow memcpy channels to be configured from DTLee Jones1-0/+2
At this moment in time the memcpy channels which can be used by the D40 are fixed, as each supported platform in Mainline uses the same ones. However, platforms do exist which don't follow this convention, so these will need to be tailored. Fortunately, these platforms will be DT only, so this change has very little impact on platform data. 2013-06-04dmaengine: ste_dma40: Convert data_width from register bit format to valueLee Jones1-8/+1
When a DMA client requests and configures a DMA channel, it requests data_width in Bytes. The DMA40 driver then swiftly converts it over to the necessary register bit value. Unfortunately, for any subsequent calculations we have to shift '1' by the bit pattern (1 << data_width) times to make any sense of it. This patch flips the semantics on its head and only converts the value to its respective register bit pattern when writing to registers. This way we can use the true data_width (in Bytes) value. 2013-06-04usb: musb: ux500: move channel number knowledge into the driverLee Jones1-4/+1
For all ux500 based platforms the maximum number of end-points are used. Move this knowledge into the driver so we can relinquish the burden from platform data. This also removes quite a bit of complexity from the driver and will aid us when we come to enable the driver for Device Tree. 2013-06-03cw1200: Rework SDIO platform support to prevent build problems.Solomon Peachy1-1/+36
Based on discussions with And Bergmann, this patch changes the SDIO platform code to default to supporting the Sagrad devices, allowing for it to be overridden in board setup code. This renders the cw1200_sagrad module suplerflous, so it is now removed. It also moves the documentation that was in the cw1200_sagrad source to the platform header. 2013-06-03cw1200: Replace use of 'struct resource' with 'int' for GPIO fields.Solomon Peachy1-6/+6
The only advantage of 'struct resource' is that it lets us assign names as part of the platform data. Unfortunately since we are using platform data, we are already limited to a single instance of each driver, rendering this moot. So, replace the struct resources with ints, resulting in cleaner code. 2013-05-23ARM: ux500: Remove DMA address look-up tableLee Jones1-2/+0
DMA addresses are now passed as part of the dmaengine API by invoking dmaengine_slave_config(). So there's no requirement for the DMA40 driver to look them up in a table provided by platform data. 2013-05-23dmaengine: ste_dma40: Calculate number of logical channels from physical onesLee Jones1-2/+0
This change will cost ~25KB of memory, but it's worth the trade-off, as it removes a great deal of overhead. It means that instead of only allocating memory for the logical channels in use, it does so for all available ones, which is 32 per physical channel. However, this now means we can remove some platform data and we don't have to worry about adding vendor specific variables to Device Tree. 2013-05-14ACPI / LPSS: register clock device for Lynxpoint DMA properlyRafael J. Wysocki1-0/+5
The DMA controller in Lynxpoint is enumerated as a regular ACPI device now. To work properly it is using the LPSS root clock as a functional clock. That's why we have to register the clock device accordingly to the ACPI ID of the DMA controller. The acpi_lpss.c module is responsible to do the job. Remarkably, this adds support for three new SoCs: r8a73a4, r8a73a4 and r8a7778. The bulk of the code added for these is for pinctrl (using the new subsystem) and for clocks (not yet using the common clock subsystem). The latter will have to get converted in one of the upcoming releases, but shmobile is not ready for that yet. The series also contains Renesas shmobile board changes, adding one board file for each of the three new SoCs. These boards are using a mix of classic and device-tree based probing, as there is still a lot of infrastructure in shmobile that has not been converted to DT yet. There are both new drivers as well as existing drivers that are getting converted from platform-specific code into standalone drivers using the appropriate subsystem specific interfaces. In particular, we can now have pinctrl, clk, clksource and irqchip drivers in one file per driver, without the need to call into platform specific interface, or to get called from platform specific code, as long as all information about the hardware is provided through a device tree. Most of the drivers we touch this time are for clocksource. Since now most of them are part of drivers/clocksource, I expect that we won't have to touch these again from arm-soc and can let the clocksource maintainers take care of these in the future. Another larger part of this series is specific to the exynos platform, which is seeing some significant effort in upstreaming and modernization of its device drivers this time around, which unfortunately is also the cause for the churn and a lot of the merge conflicts. There is one new subsystem that gets merged as part of this series: the reset controller interface, which is a very simple interface for taking devices on the SoC out of reset or back into reset. Patches to use this interface on i.MX follow later in this merge window, and we are going to have other platforms (at least tegra and sirf) get converted in 3.11. 2013-04-29backlight: lp855x: remove duplicate platform dataKim, Milo1-4/+0
The 'load_new_rom_data' was used for checking whether new ROM data should be updated or not. However, we can decide it with 'size_program' data. If the size is greater than 0, it means updating ROM area is required. Otherwise, the default ROM data will be used. Therefore, this duplicate platform data can be removed. 2013-04-29backlight: lp855x: move backlight mode platform dataKim, Milo1-7/+0
The brightness of LP855x devices is controlled by I2C register or PWM input . This mode was selected through the platform data, but it can be chosen by the driver internally without platform data configuration. How to decide the control mode: If the PWM period has specific value, the mode is PWM input. On the other hand, the mode is register-based. This mode selection is done on the _probe(). Move 'mode' from a header file to the driver private data structure, 'lp855 x'. And correlated code was replaced.
