2021-12-03treewide: Add missing includes masked by cgroup -> bpf dependencyJakub Kicinski1-0/+1
cgroup.h (therefore swap.h, therefore half of the universe) includes bpf.h which in turn includes module.h and slab.h. Since we're about to get rid of that dependency we need to clean things up. v2: drop the cpu.h include from cacheinfo.h, it's not necessary and it makes riscv sensitive to ordering of include files. 2021-10-20driver core: Provide device_match_acpi_handle() helperAndy Shevchenko1-0/+1
We have a couple of users of this helper, make it available for them. The prototype for the helper is specifically crafted in order to be easily used with bus_find_device() call. That's why its location is in the driver core rather than ACPI. Reviewed-by: Rafael J. 2021-07-21bus: Make remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
The driver core ignores the return value of this callback because there is only little it can do when a device disappears. This is the final bit of a long lasting cleanup quest where several buses were converted to also return void from their remove callback. Additionally some resource leaks were fixed that were caused by drivers returning an error code in the expectation that the driver won't go away. With struct bus_type::remove returning void it's prevented that newly implemented buses return an ignored error code and so don't anticipate wrong expectations for driver authors. 2020-11-09drivers: base: fix some kernel-doc markupsMauro Carvalho Chehab1-0/+14
class_create is actually defined at the header. Fix the markup there and add a new one at the right place. 2020-03-04driver core: Rename deferred_probe_timeout and make it globalJohn Stultz1-0/+1
Since other subsystems (like regulator) have similar arbitrary timeouts for how long they try to resolve driver dependencies, rename deferred_probe_timeout to driver_deferred_probe_timeout and set it as global, so it can be shared. Now that driver_deferred_probe_check_state() works better, and we've converted the only user of driver_deferred_probe_check_state_continue() we can simply remove it and simplify some of the logic.
