The code that is parsing the amsdu_size module parameter and mapping it to the corresponding Rx buffer size is common to all opmodes. Move it into a function in iwlwifi, as preparation to a new op mode we are working on. 2024-05-29wifi: iwlwifi: remove redundant printsMiri Korenblit2-3/+2
Upon start, the different opmodes are currently printing: 1. HW rev, which is already print by iwlwifi 2. The HW name (e.g. "Intel(R) Wi-Fi 7 BE201 320MHz") cleanup things such as the hw rev won't be printed again, the HW name will be printed by iwlwifi instead of each opmode. 2024-05-29drm/lima: Fix dma_resv deadlock at drm object pin timeAdrián Larumbe1-1/+1
Commit a78027847226 ("drm/gem: Acquire reservation lock in drm_gem_{pin/unpin}()") moved locking the DRM object's dma reservation to drm_gem_pin(), but Lima's pin callback kept calling drm_gem_shmem_pin, which also tries to lock the same dma_resv, leading to a double lock situation. As was already done for Panfrost in the previous commit, fix it by replacing drm_gem_shmem_pin() with its locked variant. 2024-05-29drm/panfrost: Fix dma_resv deadlock at drm object pin timeAdrián Larumbe1-1/+1
When Panfrost must pin an object that is being prepared a dma-buf attachment for on behalf of another driver, the core drm gem object pinning code already takes a lock on the object's dma reservation. However, Panfrost GEM object's pinning callback would eventually try taking the lock on the same dma reservation when delegating pinning of the object onto the shmem subsystem, which led to a deadlock. This can be shown by enabling CONFIG_DEBUG_WW_MUTEX_SLOWPATH, which throws the following recursive locking situation: weston/3440 is trying to acquire lock: ffff000000e235a0 (reservation_ww_class_mutex){+.+.}-{3:3}, at: drm_gem_shmem_pin+0x34/0xb8 [drm_shmem_helper] but task is already holding lock: ffff000000e235a0 (reservation_ww_class_mutex){+.+.}-{3:3}, at: drm_gem_pin+0x2c/0x80 [drm] Fix it by replacing drm_gem_shmem_pin with its locked version, as the lock had already been taken by drm_gem_pin(). Vendor driver calls this bit RxDescUnavail. All we do in the interrupt handler in this case is scheduling NAPI. If we should be out of RX descriptors, then NAPI is scheduled anyway. 2024-05-28Input: elantech - fix touchpad state on resume for Lenovo N24Jonathan Denose1-0/+31
The Lenovo N24 on resume becomes stuck in a state where it sends incorrect packets, causing elantech_packet_check_v4 to fail. The only way for the device to resume sending the correct packets is for it to be disabled and then re-enabled. This change adds a dmi check to trigger this behavior on resume. The debug prints about how long the GuC load takes have a loop counter. However that was neither initialised nor incremented! 2024-05-28clk: qcom: gcc-ipq9574: Add BRANCH_HALT_VOTED flagMd Sadre Alam1-4/+6
The crypto_ahb and crypto_axi clks are hardware voteable. This means that the halt bit isn't reliable because some other voter in the system, e.g. TrustZone, could be keeping the clk enabled when the kernel turns it off from clk_disable(). Make these clks use voting mode by changing the halt check to BRANCH_HALT_VOTED and toggle the voting bit in the voting register instead of directly controlling the branch by writing to the branch register. This fixes stuck clk warnings seen on ipq9574 and saves power by actually turning the clk off. Also changes the CRYPTO_AHB_CLK_ENA & CRYPTO_AXI_CLK_ENA offset to 0xb004 from 0x16014. 2024-05-28clk: qcom: clk-alpha-pll: set ALPHA_EN bit for Stromer Plus PLLsGabor Juhos1-0/+3
The clk_alpha_pll_stromer_plus_set_rate() function does not sets the ALPHA_EN bit in the USER_CTL register, so setting rates which requires using alpha mode works only if the bit gets set already prior calling the function. Extend the function to set the ALPHA_EN bit in order to allow using fractional rates regardless whether the bit gets set previously or not. Both gpll6 and gpll7 are parented to CXO at 19.2 MHz and not to GPLL0 which runs at 600 MHz. Also gpll6_out_even should have the parent gpll6 and not gpll0. Adjust the parents of these clocks to make Linux report the correct rate and not absurd numbers like gpll7 at ~25 GHz or gpll6 at 24 GHz. 2024-05-28drm/panel-edp: Add more panels with conservative timingsPin-yen Lin1-0/+3
Same as commit 7c8690d8fc80 ("drm/panel-edp: Add some panels with conservative timings"), the 3 panels added in this patch are used by Mediatek MT8173 Chromebooks and they used to work with the downstream v4.19 kernel without any specified delay. These panel IDs were found from in-field reports, but their datahseets are not available. For BOE 0x0623 and SHP 0x153a, their product names are retrieved from the EDIDs. The EDID of AUO 0x1999 does not contain such information, so list as "Unknown" in this patch. Update these entries with less-conservative timings from other panels of the same vendor. It's the responsibility of a correctly written DRM modeset driver to call drm_atomic_helper_shutdown() at shutdown time and that should be disabling / unpreparing the panel if needed. Panel drivers shouldn't be calling these functions themselves. A recent effort was made to fix as many DRM modeset drivers as possible [1] [2] [3] and most drivers are fixed now. A grep through mainline for compatible strings used by this driver indicates that it is used by TI OMAP boards. The TI OMAP driver appears to be correctly calling drm_atomic_helper_shutdown() so we can remove the calls. As talked about in commit d2aacaf07395 ("drm/panel: Check for already prepared/enabled in drm_panel"), we want to remove needless code from panel drivers that was storing and double-checking the prepared/enabled state. Even if someone was relying on the double-check before, that double-check is now in the core and not needed in individual drivers. The acx565akm seems to do some unique stuff with the "enabled" state. Specifically: 1. It seems to detect the enabled state based on how the bootloader left the panel. 2. It uses the enabled state to prevent certain sysfs files from accessing a disabled panel. We'll leave the "enabled" state tracking for this. However, we can at least get rid of the double-check when trying to disable. Panel drivers shouldn't be calling these functions themselves. A recent effort was made to fix as many DRM modeset drivers as possible [1] [2] [3] and most drivers are fixed now. The compatible strings used by this driver seem to show up across boards using a variety of DRM drivers. It appears that the relevant drivers have been converted, but at least one compatible string doesn't seem to be found in any mainline dts files so we can't be 100% sure. If it is found that the DRM modeset driver hasn't been fixed then this patch could be temporarily reverted until it is.
