gp_aux_bus_probe() When auxiliary_device_add() returns error and then calls auxiliary_device_uninit(), callback function gp_auxiliary_device_release() calls ida_free() and kfree(aux_device_wrapper) to free memory. We should't call them again in the error handling path. Fix this by skipping the redundant cleanup functions. 2024-06-04mcb: mcb-pci: detect IO mapped devices before requesting resourcesSanjuán García, Jorge1-8/+8
If the memory region is requested with devm_request_mem_region() for an IO mapped device it will return an error and mcb-pci will incorrectly report it with EBUSY code. Make sure we identify if the reosure is IO mapped and fail early with a correct ENOTSUPP code. 2024-06-04eeprom: Drop explicit initialization of struct i2c_device_id::driver_data to 0Uwe Kleine-König3-54/+54
These drivers don't use the driver_data member of struct i2c_device_id, so don't explicitly initialize this member. This prepares putting driver_data in an anonymous union which requires either no initialization or named designators. But it's also a nice cleanup on its own. First of all, there is no user for the platform data in the kernel. Second, it needs a lot of updates to follow the modern standards of the kernel, including proper Device Tree bindings and device property handling. 2024-06-04mei: vsc: Fix wrong invocation of ACPI SID methodHans de Goede1-1/+1
When using an initializer for a union only one of the union members must be initialized. The initializer for the acpi_object union variable passed as argument to the SID ACPI method was initializing both the type and the integer members of the union. Unfortunately rather then complaining about this gcc simply ignores the first initializer and only used the second integer.value = 1 initializer. Leaving type set to 0 which leads to the argument being skipped by acpi acpi_ns_evaluate() resulting in: ACPI Warning: \_SB.PC00.SPI1.SPFD.CVFD.SID: Insufficient arguments - Caller passed 0, method requires 1 (20240322/nsarguments-232) Fix this by initializing only the integer struct part of the union and initializing both members of the integer struct. 2024-06-04mei: vsc: Don't stop/restart mei device during system suspend/resumeWentong Wu1-24/+15
The dynamically created mei client device (mei csi) is used as one V4L2 sub device of the whole video pipeline, and the V4L2 connection graph is built by software node. The mei_stop() and mei_restart() will delete the old mei csi client device and create a new mei client device, which will cause the software node information saved in old mei csi device lost and the whole video pipeline will be broken. Removing mei_stop()/mei_restart() during system suspend/resume can fix the issue above and won't impact hardware actual power saving logic. 2024-06-04mei: demote client disconnect warning on suspend to debugAlexander Usyskin1-1/+1
Change level for the "not connected" client message in the write callback from error to debug. The MEI driver currently disconnects all clients upon system suspend. This behavior is by design and user-space applications with open connections before the suspend are expected to handle errors upon resume, by reopening their handles, reconnecting, and retrying their operations. However, the current driver implementation logs an error message every time a write operation is attempted on a disconnected client. Since this is a normal and expected flow after system resume logging this as an error can be misleading. 2024-06-04media: av7110: remove budget-patch driverStefan Herdler3-689/+0
This patch removes the budget-patch stand alone driver only. This patch does *not* remove the budget-patch support from the av7110 (= dvb-ttpci) driver. This patch does also *not* remove the support for the full-ts mod. The budget-patch is an obsolete, experimental hardware modification, which aimed to receive the whole transport stream of a transponder by bypassing the av7110. This modification never worked reliably enough to be used in a productive environment. "almost no packet loss" [budget-patch.c #522] is still a packet loss. The successor of the budget-patch is the full-ts mod, which is reliable. The full-ts mod circuit is found on the never rev. 2.2 and 2.3 DVB-S cards ex factory. The full-ts mod support is (only) in the av7110 (= dvb-ttpci) driver. The budget-patch driver is a stand alone driver, which turns the card into a budget card. It doesn't appear to be ever intended for the average user. "Card is required to have loaded firmware to tune properly. Firmware can be loaded by insertion and removal of standard av7110 driver prior to loading this driver." [Kconfig] There is support for the budget-patch in the av7110 (= dvb-ttpci) driver too, which isn't affected by this patch. The budget-patch is obsolete and replaced by the full-ts mod quiet a while now. Remove the budget-patch driver left over from development.
