2024-06-05drm/vmwgfx: Don't destroy Screen Target when CRTC is enabled but inactiveIan Forbes1-0/+10
drm_crtc_helper_funcs::atomic_disable can be called even when the CRTC is still enabled. This can occur when the mode changes or the CRTC is set as inactive. In the case where the CRTC is being set as inactive we only want to blank the screen. The Screen Target should remain intact as long as the mode has not changed and CRTC is enabled. This fixes a bug with GDM where locking the screen results in a permanent black screen because the Screen Target is no longer defined. 2024-06-05drm/vmwgfx: Filter modes which exceed graphics memoryIan Forbes1-2/+43
SVGA requires individual surfaces to fit within graphics memory (max_mob_pages) which means that modes with a final buffer size that would exceed graphics memory must be pruned otherwise creation will fail. Additionally llvmpipe requires its buffer height and width to be a multiple of its tile size which is 64. As a result we have to anticipate that llvmpipe will round up the mode size passed to it by the compositor when it creates buffers and filter modes where this rounding exceeds graphics memory. This fixes an issue where VMs with low graphics memory (< 64MiB) configured with high resolution mode boot to a black screen because surface creation fails. 2024-06-06drm/i915/gt: Delete the live_hearbeat_fast selftestNiemiec, Krzysztof1-110/+0
The test is trying to push the heartbeat frequency to the limit, which might sometimes fail. Such a failure does not provide valuable information, because it does not indicate that there is something necessarily wrong with either the driver or the hardware. Remove the test to prevent random, unnecessary failures from appearing in CI. There is a potential out-of-bounds access when using test_bit() on a single word. The test_bit() and set_bit() functions operate on long values, and when testing or setting a single word, they can exceed the word boundary. 2024-06-05scsi: sd: Use READ(16) when reading block zero on large capacity disksMartin K. Petersen1-5/+12
Commit 321da3dc1f3c ("scsi: sd: usb_storage: uas: Access media prior to querying device properties") triggered a read to LBA 0 before attempting to inquire about device characteristics. This was done because some protocol bridge devices will return generic values until an attached storage device's media has been accessed. Pierre Tomon reported that this change caused problems on a large capacity external drive connected via a bridge device. The bridge in question does not appear to implement the READ(10) command. Issue a READ(16) instead of READ(10) when a device has been identified as preferring 16-byte commands (use_16_for_rw heuristic). 2024-06-05vmxnet3: add latency measurement support in vmxnet3Ronak Doshi3-5/+220
This patch enhances vmxnet3 to support latency measurement. This support will help to track the latency in packet processing between guest virtual nic driver and host. For this purpose, we introduce a new timestamp ring in vmxnet3 which will be per Tx/Rx queue. This ring will be used to carry timestamp of the packets which will be used to calculate the latency. User can enable latency measurement using realtime knob in vnic setting in VCenter. The function dp_wait_hpd_asserted() uses pm_runtime_get_sync() and doesn't care about the return value. In the DPU driver blank IRQ handling is called from a vblank worker and can happen outside of the irq_enable / irq_disable pair. 2024-06-05ionic: advertise 52-bit addressing limitation for MSI-XDavid Christensen1-0/+5
Current ionic devices only support 52 internal physical address lines. This is sufficient for x86_64 systems which have similar limitations but does not apply to all other architectures, notably IBM POWER (ppc64). To ensure that MSI/MSI-X vectors are not set outside the physical address limits of the NIC, set the no_64bit_msi value of the pci_dev structure during device probe. Commit 3a93da231c12 ("power: supply: rt5033: Use devm_power_supply_register() helper") reworked the driver to use devm. While at it, the i2c_set_clientdata was dropped along with the remove callback. Updating the FPGA image might bring with it changes visible to Linux, so it is helpful to also co-locate dt-overlays that describe the new image contents. If these are packaged in a specific format [1] (detected by first 4 bytes being MCHP, since FPGA images have no magic), load the file to the reserved 1 MiB region immediately after the directory in flash. This reverts commit 38007fa96419a9db9719f170b9e8a7877821cdd1. Signaling user-fence after seqno write does not seem to be good solution. Block size should be between 512 and PAGE_SIZE and be a power of 2. The current check does not validate this, so update the check. Without this patch, null_blk would Oops due to a null pointer deref when loaded with bs=1536 [1]. Flexible arrays used [1] instead of []. Replace the former with the latter to resolve multiple UBSAN warnings observed on boot with a BONAIRE card. In addition, use the __counted_by attribute where possible to hint the length of the arrays to the compiler and any sanitizers. 2024-06-05irqchip/renesas-rzg2l: Add support for RZ/Five SoCLad Prabhakar1-3/+145
The IX45 block has additional mask registers (NMSK/IMSK/TMSK) compared to the RZ/G2L (family) SoC. A new rzfive_irqc_chip irq_chip is introduced for RZ/Five, where function pointers for irq_[un]mask() and irq_[dis|en]able() handle the ([un]masking of the interrupts. The irq_chip pointer is now passed as an init callback and stored in the priv pointer to differentiate between RZ/G2L and RZ/Five. This commit adds null checks for the 'stream' and 'plane' variables in the dcn30_apply_idle_power_optimizations function. These variables were previously assumed to be null at line 922, but they were used later in the code without checking if they were null. 2024-06-05drm/amdgpu: fix failure mapping legacy queue when FLRLin.Cao1-0/+2
Flag "mes.ring.shced.ready" will be set as true after mes hw init and set as false when mes hw fini to avoid duplicate initialization. But hw fini will not be called when function level reset, which will cause mes hw init be skipped during FLR, which will leads to mapping legacy queue fail. [Why] When performing P-State switching with Subvp on 8k (downscaled to 4k). corruption can be seen on the screen. MALL data was not being fetched from DC, and the system things there is more MALL space then what is actually available. [How] Read MALL size from dc caps.
