Pull gpio updates from Bartosz Golaszewski:
"We have a single new driver, new features in others and some cleanups
all over the place.
Nothing really stands out and it is all relatively small.
- new driver: gpio-modepin (plus relevant change in zynqmp firmware)

Pull cxl updates from Dan Williams:
"More preparation and plumbing work in the CXL subsystem.
From an end user perspective the highlight here is lighting up the CXL
Persistent Memory related commands (label read / write) with the
generic ioctl() front-end in LIBNVDIMM.
Otherwise, the ability to instantiate new persistent and volatile
memory regions is still on track for v5.17.
Summary:
- Fix support for platforms that do not enumerate every ACPI0016 (CXL
Host Bridge) in the CHBS (ACPI Host Bridge Structure).
- Introduce a common pci_find_dvsec_capability() helper, clean up
open coded implementations in various drivers.
- Add 'cxl_test' for regression testing CXL subsystem ABIs.
'cxl_test' is a module built from tools/testing/cxl/ that mocks up
a CXL topology to augment the nascent support for emulation of CXL
devices in QEMU.
- Convert libnvdimm to use the uuid API.
- Complete the definition of CXL namespace labels in libnvdimm.
- Tunnel libnvdimm label operations from nd_ioctl() back to the CXL
mailbox driver. Enable 'ndctl {read,write}-labels' for CXL.
- Continue to sort and refactor functionality into distinct driver
and core-infrastructure buckets. For example, mailbox handling is
now a generic core capability consumed by the PCI and cxl_test
drivers"

In configurations with CONFIG_XEN_BALLOON_MEMORY_HOTPLUG=n
and CONFIG_XEN_BALLOON_MEMORY_HOTPLUG=y, gcc warns about an
unused variable:
drivers/xen/balloon.c:83:12: error: 'xen_hotplug_unpopulated' defined but not used [-Werror=unused-variable]
Since this is always zero when CONFIG_XEN_BALLOON_MEMORY_HOTPLUG
is disabled, turn it into a preprocessor constant in that case.

This reverts commit 2fd3e5efe791946be0957c8e1eed9560b541fe46.
The above commit replaces page_address(bv->bv_page) by bvec_virt(bv) to
avoid directly access to bv->bv_page, but in situation bv->bv_offset is
not zero and page_address(bv->bv_page) is not equal to bvec_virt(bv). In
such case a memory corruption may happen because memory in next page is
tainted by following line in do_btree_node_write(),
memcpy(bvec_virt(bv), addr, PAGE_SIZE);
This patch reverts the mentioned commit to avoid the memory corruption.

commit 9c6c273aa424 ("timer: Remove init_timer_on_stack() in favor
of timer_setup_on_stack()") changed the timer setup from
init_timer_on_stack(() to timer_setup(), but missed to change the
mod_timer() call. And while at it, use msecs_to_jiffies() instead
of the open coded timeout calculation.

Commit e3a9b1212b9d ("PCI: Export pci_dev_trylock() and pci_dev_unlock()")
already exported pci_dev_trylock()/pci_dev_unlock() however in some
circumstances such as during error recovery it makes sense to block
waiting to get full access to the device so also export pci_dev_lock().

This is done by adding a zpci_hot_reset_device() call which does a low
level reset of the PCI function without changing its higher level
function state. This way it can be used while the zPCI function is bound
to a driver and with DMA tables being controlled either through the
IOMMU or DMA APIs which is prohibited when using zpci_disable_device()
as that drop existing DMA translations.
As this reset, unlike a normal FLR, also calls zpci_clear_irq() we need
to implement arch_restore_msi_irqs() and make sure we re-enable IRQs for
the PCI function if they were previously disabled.

skb is already freed by dev_kfree_skb in pn533_fill_fragment_skbs,
but follow error handler branch when pn533_fill_fragment_skbs()
fails, skb is freed again, results in double free issue. Fix this
by not free skb in error path of pn533_fill_fragment_skbs.

It is not an error to receive an URB with -ENOENT because it can come
from regular user operations, e.g. pressing CTRL+C when running nfctool
from neard. Make it a debugging message, not an error.

The ACPI_HANDLE() macro is a wrapper arond the ACPI_COMPANION()
macro and the ACPI handle produced by the former comes from the
ACPI device object produced by the latter, so it is way more
straightforward to evaluate the latter directly instead of passing
the handle produced by the former to acpi_bus_get_device().
Modify i2c_amd_probe() accordingly (no intentional functional impact).

nr_free_buffer_pages could be exposed through mm.h instead of swap.h.
The advantage of this change is that it can reduce the obsolete
includes. For example, net/ipv4/tcp.c wouldn't need swap.h any more
since it has already included mm.h. Similarly, after checking all the
other files, it comes that tcp.c, udp.c meter.c ,... follow the same
rule, so these files can have swap.h removed too.
Moreover, after preprocessing all the files that use
nr_free_buffer_pages, it turns out that those files have already
included mm.h.Thus, we can move nr_free_buffer_pages from swap.h to mm.h
safely. This change will not affect the compilation of other files.

This change introduces an aged idle interface to the existing idle sysfs
file for zram.
When CONFIG_ZRAM_MEMORY_TRACKING is enabled the idle file now also
accepts an integer argument. This integer is the age (in seconds) of
pages to mark as idle. The idle file still supports 'all' as it always
has. This new approach allows for much more control over which pages
get marked as idle.

snprintf() returns the number of bytes it would have printed if there
were space. But it does not count the NUL terminator. So that means
that if "count == copied" then this has already overflowed by one
character.
This bug likely isn't super harmful in real life.

The read_from_bdev_async is not called on atomic context. So GFP_NOIO
is available rather than GFP_ATOMIC. If there were reclaimable pages
with GFP_NOIO, we can avoid allocation failure and page fault failure.

Patch series "memblock: cleanup memblock_free interface", v2.
This is the fix for memblock freeing APIs mismatch [1].
The first patch is a cleanup of numa_distance allocation in arch_numa
I've spotted during the conversion. The second patch is a fix for Xen
memory freeing on some of the error paths.

Memory allocation of numa_distance uses memblock_phys_alloc_range()
without actual range limits, converts the returned physical address to
virtual and then only uses the virtual address for further
initialization.
Simplify this by replacing memblock_phys_alloc_range() with
memblock_alloc().

Percpu embedded first chunk allocator is the firstly option, but it
could fails on ARM64, eg,

Let's implement page mapping percpu first chunk allocator as a fallback

Patch series "Add __alloc_size()", v3.
GCC and Clang both use the "alloc_size" attribute to assist with bounds
checking around the use of allocation functions. Add the attribute,
adjust the Makefile to silence needless warnings, and add the hints to
the allocators where possible. These changes have been in use for a
while now in GrapheneOS.
This patch (of 8):
After adding __alloc_size attributes to the allocators, GCC 9.3 (but not
later) may incorrectly evaluate the arguments to check_copy_size(),
getting seemingly confused by the size being returned from array_size().
Instead, perform the calculation once, which both makes the code more
readable and avoids the bug in GCC.

can_rx_offload_threaded_irq_finish() in case of bus off
The function can_rx_offload_threaded_irq_finish() is needed to trigger
the NAPI thread to deliver read CAN frames to the networking stack.
This patch adds the missing call to can_rx_offload_threaded_irq_finish()
in case of a bus off, before leaving the interrupt handler to avoid
packet starvation.

In es58x_rx_err_msg(), if can->do_set_mode() fails, the function
directly returns without calling netif_rx(skb). This means that the
skb previously allocated by alloc_can_err_skb() is not freed. In other
terms, this is a memory leak.
This patch simply removes the return statement in the error branch and
let the function continue.
Issue was found with GCC -fanalyzer, please follow the link below for

Some USB 3.1 enumeration issues were reported after the hub driver removed
the minimum 100ms limit for the power-on-good delay.
Since commit 90d28fb53d4a ("usb: core: reduce power-on-good delay time of
root hub") the hub driver sets the power-on-delay based on the
bPwrOn2PwrGood value in the hub descriptor.
xhci driver has a 20ms bPwrOn2PwrGood value for both roothubs based
on xhci spec section 5.4.8, but it's clearly not enough for the
USB 3.1 devices, causing enumeration issues.
Tests indicate full 100ms delay is needed.

The created rmi device is orphan, which breaks the real device
hierarchy, and can cause some trouble, especially during suspend
and resume sequences. E.g. in case of I2C, rmi dev should be child
of the I2C client device.
Fix this, assigning the transport device as parent of the rmi device.

The gcc_aggre1_pnoc_ahb_clk is crucial for the proper MSM8996/APQ8096
functioning. If it gets disabled, several subsytems will stop working
(including eMMC/SDCC and USB). There are no in-kernel users of this
clock, so it is much simpler to remove from the kernel.
The clock was first removed in the commit 9e60de1cf270 ("clk: qcom:
Remove gcc_aggre1_pnoc_ahb_clk from msm8996") by Stephen Boyd, but got
added back in the commit b567752144e3 ("clk: qcom: Add some missing gcc
clks for msm8996") by Rajendra Nayak.
Let's remove it again in hope that nobody adds it back.
