Switch to the generic TIOCMIWAIT implementation.
This also fixes the issue with processes waiting for
modem-status-changes not being woken up at disconnect.

Switch to the generic get_icount implementation.
Note that the interrupt counters will no longer be reset at open which
is in accordance with which how the other drivers work.

Fix port-data memory leak by moving port data allocation and
deallocation to port_probe and port_remove.
Since commit 0998d0631001288 (device-core: Ensure drvdata = NULL when no
driver is bound) the port private data is no longer freed at release as
it is no longer accessible.
Compile-only tested.

This reworks the usb_serial_register_drivers() and
usb_serial_deregister_drivers() to not need a pointer to a struct
usb_driver anymore. The usb_driver structure is now created dynamically
and registered and unregistered as needed.
This saves lines of code in each usb-serial driver. All in-kernel users
of these functions were also fixed up at this time. The pl2303 driver
was tested that everything worked properly.
Thanks for the idea to do this from Alan Stern.

This is now set by the usb-serial core, no need for the driver to
individually set it.
Thanks to Alan Stern for the idea to get rid of it.

This patch (as1525) modifies the following usb-serial drivers to
utilize the new usb_serial_{de}register_drivers() routines:
io_edgeport, io_ti, ipaq, ipw, ir-usb, and iuu_phoenix.

This patch (as1443) fixes a bug found in many of the USB serial
drivers: They don't set the .usb_driver field in their
usb_serial_driver structure. This field is needed for assigning
dynamic IDs for device matching.
In addition, starting with the 2.6.37 kernel, the .usb_driver field is
needed for proper autosuspend operation. Without it, attempts to open
the device file will fail.

Simple pasting job using the new ops function. Also fix a couple of devices
directly returning the internal struct (which happens at this point to match
for the fields that matter but isn't correct or futureproof)

The id_table field of the struct usb_device_id is constant in <linux/usb.h>
so it is worth to make the initialization data also constant.
The semantic match that finds this kind of pattern is as follows:

This patch (as1254) splits up the shutdown method of usb_serial_driver
into a disconnect and a release method.
The problem is that the usb-serial core was calling shutdown during
disconnect handling, but drivers didn't expect it to be called until
after all the open file references had been closed. The result was an
oops when the close method tried to use memory that had been
deallocated by shutdown.

The usb-serial core no longer checks these fields so remove them from
all of the individual drivers. They will be removed from the usb-serial
core in a patch later in the series.

Every usb serial driver should have a pointer to the corresponding usb driver.
So the usb serial core can add a new id not only to the usb serial driver, but
also to the usb driver.
Also the usb drivers of ark3116, mos7720 and mos7840 missed the flag
no_dynamic_id=1. This is added now.

This patch adds EPiC support to the io_edgeport driver which adds
support for a number of NCR printers:
- NCR (Axiohm) 7401-K580 printer
- NCR (TEC) 7401-K590 printer, 7402-K592
- NCR (TEC) 7167, 7168 printers
- NCR (TEC) 7197, 7198, F306, F307, F309 printers
- NCR (Axiohm) 7194 printer
- NCR (Axiohm) 7158 printer
and a few more.
It is based on the 2.6.19 kernel.

of memory.

I'm tired of trying to explain why a "device_type" is really a driver.
This better describes exactly what this structure is.

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.
Let it rip!
