2021-12-09net: wwan: iosm: fixes unnecessary doorbell sendM Chetan Kumar1-7/+11
In TX packet accumulation flow transport layer is giving a doorbell to device even though there is no pending control TX transfer that needs immediate attention. Introduced a new hpda_ctrl_pending variable to keep track of pending control TX transfer. If there is a pending control TX transfer which needs an immediate attention only then give a doorbell to device. 2021-12-08net: wwan: make debugfs optionalSergey Ryazanov6-5/+36
Debugfs interface is optional for the regular modem use. Some distros and users will want to disable this feature for security or kernel size reasons. So add a configuration option that allows to completely disable the debugfs interface of the WWAN devices. A primary considered use case for this option was embedded firmwares. For example, in OpenWrt, you can not completely disable debugfs, as a lot of wireless stuff can only be configured and monitored with the debugfs knobs. At the same time, reducing the size of a kernel and modules is an essential task in the world of embedded software. Disabling the WWAN and IOSM debugfs interfaces allows us to save 50K (x86-64 build) of space for module storage. Not much, but already considerable when you only have 16MB of storage. So it is hard to just disable whole debugfs. Users need some fine grained set of options to control which debugfs interface is important and should be available and which is not. The new configuration symbol is enabled by default and is hidden under the EXPERT option. So a regular user would not be bothered by another one configuration question. While an embedded distro maintainer will be able to a little more reduce the final image size. 2021-12-08net: wwan: iosm: move debugfs knobs into a subdirSergey Ryazanov6-8/+49

2021-12-08net: wwan: iosm: allow trace port be uninitializedSergey Ryazanov3-5/+11
Collecting modem firmware traces is optional for the regular modem use. There are not many reasons for aborting device initialization due to an inability to initialize the trace port and (or) its debugfs interface. So, demote the initialization failure erro message into a warning and do not break the initialization sequence in this case. Rework packet processing and deinitialization so that they do not crash in case of uninitialized trace port. This change is mainly a preparation for an upcoming configuration option introduction that will help disable driver debugfs functionality. 2021-12-08net: wwan: iosm: consolidate trace port init codeSergey Ryazanov4-21/+9
Move the channel related structures initialization from ipc_imem_channel_init() to ipc_trace_init() and call it directly. On the one hand, this makes the trace port initialization symmetric to the deitialization, that is, it removes the additional wrapper. On the other hand, this change consolidates the trace port related code into a single source file, what facilitates an upcoming disabling of this functionality by a user choise. 2021-11-22net: wwan: iosm: device trace collection using relayfsM Chetan Kumar8-13/+271
This patch brings in support for device trace collection. It implements relayfs interface for pushing device trace from kernel space to user space. Driver gets the debugfs base directory associated to WWAN Device and creates trace_control and trace debugfs for device tracing. Both trace_control & trace debugfs are created under /sys/kernel/debug/wwan/wwan0/. In order to collect device trace on trace0 interface, user need to write 1 to trace_ctl interface. On early detection of device in boot rom stage. Driver registers with Devlink framework and establish transport channel for PSI (Primary Signed Image) injection. Once PSI is injected to device, the device execution stage details are read to determine whether device is in flash or exception mode. 2021-06-22wwan: core: add WWAN common private data for netdevSergey Ryazanov1-6/+6
The WWAN core not only multiplex the netdev configuration data, but process it too, and needs some space to store its private data associated with the netdev. Add a structure to keep common WWAN core data. The structure will be stored inside the netdev private data before WWAN driver private data and have a field to make it easier to access the driver data. Also add a helper function that simplifies drivers access to their data. At the moment we use the common WWAN private data to store the WWAN data link (channel) id at the time the link is created, and report it back to user using the .fill_info() RTNL callback. This should help the user to be aware which network interface is bound to which WWAN device data channel. Most, if not each WWAN device driver will create a netdev for the default data channel. Therefore, add an option for the WWAN netdev ops registration function to create a default netdev for the WWAN device. A WWAN device driver should pass a default data channel link id to the ops registering function to request the creation of a default netdev, or a special value WWAN_NO_DEFAULT_LINK to inform the WWAN core that the default netdev should not be created. For now, only wwan_hwsim utilize the default link creation option. Other drivers will be reworked next. 2021-06-22net: iosm: drop custom netdev(s) removingSergey Ryazanov1-14/+1
Since the last commit, the WWAN core will remove all our network interfaces for us at the time of the WWAN netdev ops unregistering. Therefore, we can safely drop the custom code that cleans the list of created netdevs. Anyway it no longer removes any netdev, since all netdevs were removed earlier in the wwan_unregister_ops() call.
