qlcnic_83xx_unlock_flash() is called on all paths after we call qlcnic_83xx_lock_flash(), except for one error path on failure of QLCRD32(), which may cause a deadlock. This bug is suggested by a static analysis tool, please advise. A crash has been observed if rmmod is done while automatic debug collection in progress. It is due to a race condition between both of them. To fix stop the sp_task during unload to avoid running qede_sp_task even if they are schedule during removal process. 2021-07-26net/qla3xxx: fix schedule while atomic in ql_wait_for_drvr_lock and ↵Letu Ren1-3/+3
ql_adapter_reset When calling the 'ql_wait_for_drvr_lock' and 'ql_adapter_reset', the driver has already acquired the spin lock, so the driver should not call 'ssleep' in atomic context. 2021-06-24qede: Remove rcu_read_lock() around XDP program invocationToke Høiland-Jørgensen1-6/+0
The qede driver has rcu_read_lock()/rcu_read_unlock() pairs around XDP program invocations. However, the actual lifetime of the objects referred by the XDP program invocation is longer, all the way through to the call to xdp_do_flush(), making the scope of the rcu_read_lock() too small. This turns out to be harmless because it all happens in a single NAPI poll cycle (and thus under local_bh_disable()), but it makes the rcu_read_lock() misleading. Rather than extend the scope of the rcu_read_lock(), just get rid of it entirely. With the addition of RCU annotations to the XDP_REDIRECT map types that take bh execution into account, lockdep even understands this to be safe, so there's really no reason to keep it around. 2021-06-17net: qed: Fix memcpy() overflow of qed_dcbx_params()Kees Cook1-1/+3
The source (&dcbx_info->operational.params) and dest (&p_hwfn->p_dcbx_info->set.config.params) are both struct qed_dcbx_params (560 bytes), not struct qed_dcbx_admin_params (564 bytes), which is used as the memcpy() size. However it seems that struct qed_dcbx_operational_params (dcbx_info->operational)'s layout matches struct qed_dcbx_admin_params (p_hwfn->p_dcbx_info->set.config)'s 4 byte difference (3 padding, 1 byte for "valid"). On the assumption that the size is wrong (rather than the source structure type), adjust the memcpy() size argument to be 4 bytes smaller and add a BUILD_BUG_ON() to validate any changes to the structure sizes. The function qlcnic_dl_lb_test() currently calls netdev_alloc_skb() without checking afterwards that the allocation succeeded. Fix this by checking if the skb is NULL and returning an error in such a case. We want to change the current ndo_xdp_xmit drop semantics because it will allow us to implement better queue overflow handling. This is working towards the larger goal of a XDP TX queue-hook. Move XDP_REDIRECT error path handling from each XDP ethernet driver to devmap code. According to the new APIs, the driver running the ndo_xdp_xmit pointer, will break tx loop whenever the hw reports a tx error and it will just return to devmap caller the number of successfully transmitted frames. It will be devmap responsibility to free dropped frames. When memory is allocated in 'ql_alloc_net_req_rsp_queues()' GFP_KERNEL can be used because it is only called from 'ql_alloc_mem_resources()' which already calls 'ql_alloc_buffer_queues()' which uses GFP_KERNEL. The call chain is: netxen_nic_attach() --> netxen_alloc_sw_resources() : already uses GFP_KERNEL --> netxen_alloc_hw_resources() --> nx_fw_cmd_create_rx_ctx() --> nx_fw_cmd_create_tx_ctx() When memory is allocated in 'netxen_init_dummy_dma()' GFP_KERNEL can be used because its only call chain already uses it and no lock is acquired in the between.
