2013-08-29drivers:net: Convert dma_alloc_coherent(...__GFP_ZERO) to dma_zalloc_coherentJoe Perches1-4/+4
__GFP_ZERO is an uncommon flag and perhaps is better not used. static inline dma_zalloc_coherent exists so convert the uses of dma_alloc_coherent with __GFP_ZERO to the more common kernel style with zalloc. Remove memset from the static inline dma_zalloc_coherent and add just one use of __GFP_ZERO instead. Trivially reduces the size of the existing uses of dma_zalloc_coherent. Realign arguments as appropriate. 2013-04-01Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/netDavid S. Miller1-3/+11
Conflicts: net/mac80211/sta_info.c net/wireless/core.h Two minor conflicts in wireless. Overlapping additions of extern declarations in net/wireless/core.h and a bug fix overlapping with the addition of a boolean parameter to __ieee80211_key_free(). Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-03-27e1000: ethtool: Add missing dma_mapping_error-call in e1000_setup_desc_ringsChristoph Paasch1-3/+11
After dma_map_single, dma_mapping_error must be called. Signed-off-by: Christoph Paasch <[email protected]> Tested-by: Aaron Brown <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <[email protected]>
2013-03-17drivers:net: dma_alloc_coherent: use __GFP_ZERO instead of memset(, 0)Joe Perches1-4/+2
Reduce the number of calls required to alloc a zeroed block of memory. Trivially reduces overall object size. Other changes around these removals o Neaten call argument alignment o Remove an unnecessary OOM message after dma_alloc_coherent failure o Remove unnecessary gfp_t stack variable Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-02-15e1000: fix whitespace issues and multi-line commentsJeff Kirsher1-68/+72
Fixes whitespace issues, such as lines exceeding 80 chars, needless blank lines and the use of spaces where tabs are needed. In addition, fix multi-line comments to align with the networking standard. Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <[email protected]> Tested-by: Aaron Brown <[email protected]>

2012-08-21e1000: configure and read MDI settingsJesse Brandeburg1-0/+39
This is the implementation in e1000 to allow ethtool to force MDI state, allowing users to work around some improperly behaving switches. Forcing in this driver is for now only allowed when auto-neg is enabled. To use must have the matching version of ethtool app that supports this functionality. 2012-07-22e1000: advertise transmit time stampingRichard Cochran1-0/+1
This driver now offers software transmit time stamping, so it should advertise that fact via ethtool. Compile tested only. This round of floor sweeping converts strncpy calls in various .get_drvinfo routines to the preferred strlcpy. It also does a modicum of other cleaning in those routines. Signed-off-by: Rick Jones <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <[email protected]>
