2020-01-05enetc: Set MDIO_CFG_HOLD to the recommended value of 2Vladimir Oltean1-4/+8
This increases the MDIO hold time to 5 enet_clk cycles from the previous value of 0. This is actually the out-of-reset value, that the driver was previously overwriting with 0. Zero worked for the external MDIO, but breaks communication with the internal MDIO buses on which the PCS of ENETC SI's and Felix switch are found. 2020-01-05enetc: Make MDIO accessors more generic and export to include/linux/fslClaudiu Manoil8-99/+121
Within the LS1028A SoC, the register map for the ENETC MDIO controller is instantiated a few times: for the central (external) MDIO controller, for the internal bus of each standalone ENETC port, and for the internal bus of the Felix switch. Refactoring is needed to support multiple MDIO buses from multiple drivers. The enetc_hw structure is made an opaque type and a smaller enetc_mdio_priv is created. 'mdio_base' - MDIO registers base address - is being parameterized, to be able to work with different MDIO register bases. The ENETC MDIO bus operations are exported from the fsl-enetc-mdio kernel object, the same that registers the central MDIO controller (the dedicated PF). The ENETC main driver has been changed to select it, and use its exported helpers to further register its private MDIO bus. The DSA Felix driver will do the same. 2020-01-02enetc: add support time specific departure base on the qos etfPo Liu4-1/+59
ENETC implement time specific departure capability, which enables the user to specify when a frame can be transmitted. When this capability is enabled, the device will delay the transmission of the frame so that it can be transmitted at the precisely specified time. The delay departure time up to 0.5 seconds in the future. If the departure time in the transmit BD has not yet been reached, based on the current time, the packet will not be transmitted. This driver was loaded by Qos driver ETF. User could load it by tc commands. Here are the example commands: tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1: mqprio \ num_tc 8 map 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 hw 1 tc qdisc replace dev eth0 parent 1:8 etf \ clockid CLOCK_TAI delta 30000 offload These example try to set queue mapping first and then set queue 7 with 30us ahead dequeue time. Then user send test frame should set SO_TXTIME feature for socket. There are also some limitations for this feature in hardware: - Transmit checksum offloads and time specific departure operation are mutually exclusive. - Time Aware Shaper feature (Qbv) offload and time specific departure operation are mutually exclusive. 2019-12-28gianfar: Fix TX timestamping with a stacked DSA driverVladimir Oltean1-3/+7
The driver wrongly assumes that it is the only entity that can set the SKBTX_IN_PROGRESS bit of the current skb. Therefore, in the gfar_clean_tx_ring function, where the TX timestamp is collected if necessary, the aforementioned bit is used to discriminate whether or not the TX timestamp should be delivered to the socket's error queue. But a stacked driver such as a DSA switch can also set the SKBTX_IN_PROGRESS bit, which is actually exactly what it should do in order to denote that the hardware timestamping process is undergoing. Therefore, gianfar would misinterpret the "in progress" bit as being its own, and deliver a second skb clone in the socket's error queue, completely throwing off a PTP process which is not expecting to receive it, _even though_ TX timestamping is not enabled for gianfar. There have been discussions [0] as to whether non-MAC drivers need or not to set SKBTX_IN_PROGRESS at all (whose purpose is to avoid sending 2 timestamps, a sw and a hw one, to applications which only expect one). But as of this patch, there are at least 2 PTP drivers that would break in conjunction with gianfar: the sja1105 DSA switch and the felix switch, by way of its ocelot core driver. So regardless of that conclusion, fix the gianfar driver to not do stuff based on flags set by others and not intended for it. 2019-12-06enetc: disable EEE autoneg by defaultYangbo Lu1-0/+5
The EEE support has not been enabled on ENETC, but it may connect to a PHY which supports EEE and advertises EEE by default, while its link partner also advertises EEE. If this happens, the PHY enters low power mode when the traffic rate is low and causes packet loss. This patch disables EEE advertisement by default for any PHY that ENETC connects to, to prevent the above unwanted outcome. The setup_dpio() function tries to allocate a number of channels equal to the number of CPUs online. When there are not enough DPCON objects already probed, the function will return EPROBE_DEFER. When this happens, the already allocated channels are not freed. This results in the incapacity of properly probing the next time around. Fix this by freeing the channels on the error path. 2019-11-06gianfar: Maximize Rx buffer sizeClaudiu Manoil1-4/+4
Until now the size of a Rx buffer was artificially limited to 1536B (which happens to be the default, after reset, hardware value for a Rx buffer). This approach however leaves unused memory space for Rx packets, since the driver uses a paged allocation scheme that reserves half a page for each Rx skb. There's also the inconvenience that frames around 1536 bytes can get scattered if the limit is slightly exceeded. This limit can be exceeded even for standard MTU of 1500B traffic, for common cases like stacked VLANs, or DSA tags. To address these issues, let's just compute the buffer size starting from the upper limit of 2KB (half a page) and subtract the skb overhead and alignment restrictions. 2019-10-31dpaa2-eth: add MAC/PHY support through phylinkIoana Ciornei9-21/+816
The dpaa2-eth driver now has support for connecting to its associated PHY device found through standard OF bindings. This happens when the DPNI object (that the driver probes on) gets connected to a DPMAC. When that happens, the device tree is looked up by the DPMAC ID, and the associated PHY bindings are found. The old logic of handling the net device's link state by hand still needs to be kept, as the DPNI can be connected to other devices on the bus than a DPMAC: other DPNI, DPSW ports, etc. This logic is only engaged when there is no DPMAC (and therefore no phylink instance) attached. The MC firmware support multiple type of DPMAC links: TYPE_FIXED, TYPE_PHY. The TYPE_FIXED mode does not require any DPMAC management from Linux side, and as such, the driver will not handle such a DPMAC. Although PHYLINK typically handles SFP cages and in-band AN modes, for the moment the driver only supports the RGMII interfaces found on the LX2160A. Support for other modes will come later.
