2014-12-09net: systemport: allow changing MAC addressFlorian Fainelli1-0/+22
Hook a ndo_set_mac_address callback, update the internal Ethernet MAC in the netdevice structure, and finally write that address down to the UniMAC registers. If the interface is down, and most likely clock gated, we do not update the registers but just the local copy, such that next ndo_open() call will effectively write down the address. 2014-12-09bnx2x: Use correct fastpath version for VFs.Yuval Mintz7-5/+88
Our FW can support several fastpath HSI [for backward compatibility] but up until now VFs were always configured to use latest fastpath HSI [although VF driver might be older and use an older fastpath HSI]. For linux drivers, the differences are insignificant since driver never utilized features that were overridden by the HSI change. But for VMs running other operating systems this might be a problem. In addition, eventually FW might change fastpath HSI in such a manner that backward compatibility WILL break unless configured with proper version. This patch fixes the issue for other operating system VMs, as well as lays the ground work for forward compatibility in regard to the fastpath HSI. 2014-12-08net: bcmgenet: add support for new GENET PHY revision schemeFlorian Fainelli1-1/+23
Starting with GPHY revision G0, the GENET register layout has changed to use the same numbering scheme as the Starfighter 2 switch. This means that GPHY major revision is in bits 15:12, minor in bits 11:8 and patch level is in bits 7:4. Introduce a small heuristic which checks for the old scheme first, tests for the new scheme and finally attempts to catch reserved values and aborts. 2014-12-08ethtool: Support for configurable RSS hash functionEyal Perry2-4/+36
This patch extends the set/get_rxfh ethtool-options for getting or setting the RSS hash function. It modifies drivers implementation of set/get_rxfh accordingly. This change also delegates the responsibility of checking whether a modification to a certain RX flow hash parameter is supported to the driver implementation of set_rxfh. User-kernel API is done through the new hfunc bitmask field in the ethtool_rxfh struct. A bit set in the hfunc field is corresponding to an index in the new string-set ETH_SS_RSS_HASH_FUNCS. Got approval from most of the relevant driver maintainers that their driver is using Toeplitz, and for the few that didn't answered, also assumed it is Toeplitz. 2014-12-04SSB / B44: fix WOL for BCM4401Andrey Skvortsov1-0/+2
Wake On Lan was not working on laptop DELL Vostro 1500. If WOL was turned on, BCM4401 was powered up in suspend mode. LEDs blinked. But the laptop could not be woken up with the Magic Packet. The reason for that was that PCIE was not enabled as a system wakeup source and therefore the host PCI bridge was not powered up in suspend mode. PCIE was not enabled in suspend by PM because no child devices were registered as wakeup source during suspend process. On laptop BCM4401 is connected through the SSB bus, that is connected to the PCI-Express bus. SSB and B44 did not use standard PM wakeup functions and did not forward wakeup settings to their parents. To fix that B44 driver enables PM wakeup and registers new wakeup source using device_set_wakeup_enable(). Wakeup is automatically reported to the parent SSB bus via power.wakeup_path. SSB bus enables wakeup for the parent PCI bridge, if there is any child devices with enabled wakeup functionality. All other steps are done by PM core code. With commit d75b1ade567 ("net: less interrupt masking in NAPI") napi repoll is done only when work_done == budget. bcm_sysport_tx_poll() always returns 0 whether or not we completed the poll quantum. In case an interface has been brought down before entering S3, and then brought up out of S3, all the initialization done during bcmgenet_probe() by bcmgenet_mii_init() calling bcmgenet_mii_config() is just lost since register contents are restored to their reset values. Re-apply this configuration anytime we call bcmgenet_open() to make sure our port multiplexer is properly configured to match the PHY interface. Since we are now calling bcmgenet_mii_config() everytime bcmgenet_open() is called, make sure we only print the message during initialization time not to pollute the console. 2014-11-11net: bcmgenet: connect and disconnect from the PHY state machineFlorian Fainelli3-1/+8
phy_disconnect() is the only way to guarantee that we are not going to schedule more work on the PHY state machine workqueue for that particular PHY device. This fixes an issue where a network interface was suspended prior to a system suspend/resume cycle and would then be resumed as part of mdio_bus_resume(), since the GENET interface clocks would have been disabled, this basically resulted in bus errors to appear since we are invoking the GENET driver adjust_link() callback. Callers of bcm_sysport_init_tx_ring() can currently fail, and will always call bcm_sysport_fini_tx_ring() in a loop ending at the number of TX queues (32) without checking if the TX ring was successfully initialized or not. Update bcm_sysport_fini_tx_ring() to return early and avoid a crash de-referencing ring->cbs if the TX ring was not initialized, since ring->cbs is the last part of the initialization done by bcm_sysport_init_tx_ring() that could fail. 2014-10-28net: systemport: reset UniMAC coming out of a suspend cycleFlorian Fainelli1-0/+2
bcm_sysport_resume() was missing an UniMAC reset which can lead to various receive FIFO corruptions coming out of a suspend cycle. If the RX FIFO is stuck, it will deliver corrupted/duplicate packets towards the host CPU interface. This could be reproduced on crowded network and when Wake-on-LAN is enabled for this particular interface because the switch still forwards packets towards the host CPU interface (SYSTEMPORT), and we had to leave the UniMAC RX enable bit on to allow matching MagicPackets. Once we re-enter the resume function, there is a small window during which the UniMAC receive is still enabled, and we start queueing packets, but the RDMA and RBUF engines are not ready, which leads to having packets stuck in the UniMAC RX FIFO, ultimately delivered towards the host CPU as corrupted. 2014-10-28net: systemport: enable RX interrupts after NAPIFlorian Fainelli1-6/+3
There is currently a small window during which the SYSTEMPORT adapter enables its RX interrupts without having enabled its NAPI handler, which can result in packets to be discarded during interface bringup. A similar but more serious window exists in bcm_sysport_resume() during which we can have the RDMA engine not fully prepared to receive packets and yet having RX interrupts enabled. Fix this my moving the RX interrupt enable down to bcm_sysport_netif_start() after napi_enable() for the RX path is called, which fixes both call sites: bcm_sysport_open() and bcm_sysport_resume(). Commit b629be5c8399d7c423b92135eb43a86c924d1cbc ("net: bcmgenet: check harder for out of memory conditions") moved the increment of the local read pointer *before* reading from the hardware descriptor using dmadesc_get_length_status(), which creates an off-by-one situation. Fix this by moving again the read_ptr increment after we have read the hardware descriptor to get both the control block and the read pointer back in sync.
