2020-09-25drivers/net/ethernet: add some basic kdoc tagsJesse Brandeburg1-1/+1
A couple of drivers had a "generic documentation" section that would trigger a "can't understand" message from W=1 compiles. Fix by using correct DOC: tags in the generic sections. 2019-11-04net: of_get_phy_mode: Change API to solve int/unit warningsAndrew Lunn1-5/+10
Before this change of_get_phy_mode() returned an enum, phy_interface_t. On error, -ENODEV etc, is returned. If the result of the function is stored in a variable of type phy_interface_t, and the compiler has decided to represent this as an unsigned int, comparision with -ENODEV etc, is a signed vs unsigned comparision. Fix this problem by changing the API. Make the function return an error, or 0 on success, and pass a pointer, of type phy_interface_t, where the phy mode should be stored. v2: Return with *interface set to PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_NA on error. Add error checks to all users of of_get_phy_mode() Fixup a few reverse christmas tree errors Fixup a few slightly malformed reverse christmas trees v3: Fix 0-day reported errors. 2015-09-21net: arc: Fix module autoload for OF platform driverLuis de Bethencourt1-0/+1
This platform driver has a OF device ID table but the OF module alias information is not created so module autoloading won't work. Signed-off-by: Luis de Bethencourt <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <[email protected]>
2014-08-27ethernet: arc: Add support for specific SoC layer device tree bindingsRomain Perier1-0/+95
Some platforms have special bank registers which might be used to select the correct clock or the right mode for Media Indepent Interface controllers. Sometimes, it is also required to activate vcc regulators in the right order to supply the ethernet controller at the right time. This patch is an architecture refactoring of the arc-emac device driver. It adds a new software design which allows to add specific platform glue layer. Each platform has now its own module which performs custom initialization and remove for the target and then calls to the core driver.
