2023-07-13drm/client: Fix memory leak in drm_client_target_clonedJocelyn Falempe1-0/+5
dmt_mode is allocated and never freed in this function. It was found with the ast driver, but most drivers using generic fbdev setup are probably affected. 2023-07-13drm/ssd130x: Change pixel format used to compute the buffer sizeJavier Martinez Canillas1-1/+1
The commit e254b584dbc0 ("drm/ssd130x: Remove hardcoded bits-per-pixel in ssd130x_buf_alloc()") used a pixel format info rather than a hardcoded bpp to calculate the size of the buffer allocated to store the native pixels. But it wrongly used the DRM_FORMAT_C1 fourcc pixel format. That is for color-indexed frame buffer formats, while the ssd103x controllers don't support different single-channel colors nor a Color Lookup Table (CLUT). So the correct pixel format to use in this case is DRM_FORMAT_R1 instead. Since both formats use a eight pixels/byte, there is no functional change in practice by this patch. Still, the correct pixel format should be used. 2023-07-12drm/amd/display: only accept async flips for fast updatesSimon Ser2-0/+20
Up until now, amdgpu was silently degrading to vsync when user-space requested an async flip but the hardware didn't support it. The hardware doesn't support immediate flips when the update changes the FB pitch, the DCC state, the rotation, enables or disables CRTCs or planes, etc. This is reflected in the dm_crtc_state.update_type field: UPDATE_TYPE_FAST means that immediate flip is supported. Silently degrading async flips to vsync is not the expected behavior from a uAPI point-of-view. Xorg expects async flips to fail if unsupported, to be able to fall back to a blit. i915 already behaves this way. This patch aligns amdgpu with uAPI expectations and returns a failure when an async flip is not possible. 2023-07-12drm/amdgpu/gfx10: move update_spm_vmid() out of rlc_init()Alex Deucher1-8/+16
rlc_init() is part of sw_init() so it should not touch hardware. Additionally, calling the rlc update_spm_vmid() callback directly invokes a gfx on/off cycle which could result in powergating being enabled before hw init is complete. Split update_spm_vmid() into an internal implementation for local use without gfxoff interaction and then the rlc callback which includes gfxoff handling. 2023-07-12drm: execution context for GEM buffers v7Christian König3-0/+341
This adds the infrastructure for an execution context for GEM buffers which is similar to the existing TTMs execbuf util and intended to replace it in the long term. The basic functionality is that we abstracts the necessary loop to lock many different GEM buffers with automated deadlock and duplicate handling. v2: drop xarray and use dynamic resized array instead, the locking overhead is unnecessary and measurable. v3: drop duplicate tracking, radeon is really the only one needing that. v4: fixes issues pointed out by Danilo, some typos in comments and a helper for lock arrays of GEM objects. v5: some suggestions by Boris Brezillon, especially just use one retry macro, drop loop in prepare_array, use flags instead of bool v6: minor changes suggested by Thomas, Boris and Danilo v7: minor typos pointed out by checkpatch.pl fixed Signed-off-by: Christian König <[email protected]> Reviewed-by: Boris Brezillon <[email protected]> Reviewed-by: Danilo Krummrich <[email protected]> Tested-by: Danilo Krummrich <[email protected]> Acked-by: Alex Deucher <[email protected]> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/[email protected]
