In the cleanup, I didn't notice that we needed to dereference the
connector for the bus_format. Fix the regression by looking up the
first (and only) connector attached to us, and assume that its
bus_format is what we want. Some day it would be good to have that
part of display_info attached to the bridge, instead.

I had originally asked Stefan Schake to drop the pad field from the
syncobj changes that just landed, because I couldn't come up with a
reason to align to 64 bits.
Talking with Dave Airlie about the new v3d driver's submit ioctl, we
came up with a reason: sizeof() on 64-bit platforms may align to 64
bits, in which case the userspace will be submitting the aligned size
and the final 32 bits won't be zero-padded by the kernel. If
userspace doesn't zero-fill, then a future ABI change adding a 32-bit
field at the end could potentially cause the kernel to read undefined
data from old userspace (our userspace happens to use structure
initialization that zero-fills, but as a general rule we try not to
rely on that in the kernel).

Commit b9f19259b84d ("drm/vc4: Add the DRM_IOCTL_VC4_GEM_MADVISE ioctl")
introduced a mechanism to mark some BOs as purgeable to allow the driver
to drop them under memory pressure. In order to implement this feature
we had to add a mechanism to mark BOs as currently used by a piece of
hardware which materialized through the ->usecnt counter.
Plane code is supposed to increment usecnt when it attaches a BO to a
plane and decrement it when it's done with this BO, which was done in
the ->prepare_fb() and ->cleanup_fb() hooks. The problem is, async page
flip logic does not go through the regular atomic update path, and
->prepare_fb() and ->cleanup_fb() are not called in this case.
Fix that by manually calling vc4_bo_{inc,dec}_usecnt() in the
async-page-flip path.
Note that all this should go away as soon as we get generic async page
flip support in the core, in the meantime, this fix should do the
trick.

In preparation to enabling -Wvla, remove VLA. In this particular
case use macro ARRAY_SIZE so the length of array _bo_ can be
computed at preprocessing time.
The use of stack Variable Length Arrays needs to be avoided, as they
can be a vector for stack exhaustion, which can be both a runtime bug
or a security flaw. Also, in general, as code evolves it is easy to
lose track of how big a VLA can get. Thus, we can end up having runtime
failures that are hard to debug.
Also, fixed as part of the directive to remove all VLAs from

When saving BOs in the hang state we skip one entry of the
kernel_state->bo[] array, thus leaving it to NULL. This leads to a NULL
pointer dereference when, later in this function, we iterate over all
BOs to check their ->madv state.

If the frame samples from a render target that was just written, its
cache flush during the binning step may have occurred before the
previous frame's RCL was completed. Flush the texture caches again
before starting each RCL job to make sure that the sampling of the

We were calling enable_irq on bind, where it was already enabled previously
by the IRQ helper. Additionally, dev->irq is not set correctly until after
postinstall and so was always zero here, triggering a warning in 4.15.
Fix both by moving the enable to the power management resume path, where we
know there was a previous disable invocation during suspend.

Use drm_fb_cma_fbdev_init() and drm_fb_cma_fbdev_fini() which relies on
the fact that drm_device holds a pointer to the drm_fb_helper structure.
This means that the driver doesn't have to keep track of that.

With CONFIG_REFCOUNT_FULL enabled, refcount_inc() complains when it's
passed a refcount object that has its counter set to 0. In this driver,
this is a valid use case since we want to increment ->usecnt only when
the BO object starts to be used by real HW components and this is
definitely not the case when the BO is created.
Fix the problem by using refcount_inc_not_zero() instead of
refcount_inc() and fallback to refcount_set(1) when
refcount_inc_not_zero() returns false. Note that this 2-steps operation
is not racy here because the whole section is protected by a mutex
which guarantees that the counter does not change between the
refcount_inc_not_zero() and refcount_set() calls.

The hardware has enums for altering the Cr and Cb order,
so use this instead of having a flag which swaps the
order the pointers are presented to the hardware
(that only worked for 3 plane formats anyway).
Explicitly sets .pixel_order in each case, rather than
relying on then default XYCBCR order being a value 0.

Apparently some sinks look at the YQ bits even when receiving RGB,
and they get somehow confused when they see a non-zero YQ value.
So we can't just blindly follow CEA-861-F and set YQ to match the
RGB range.
Unfortunately there is no good way to tell whether the sink
designer claims to have read CEA-861-F. The CEA extension block
revision number has generally been stuck at 3 since forever,
and even a very recently manufactured sink might be based on
an old design so the manufacturing date doesn't seem like
something we can use. In lieu of better information let's
follow CEA-861-F only for HDMI 2.0 sinks, since HDMI 2.0 is
based on CEA-861-F. For HDMI 1.x sinks we'll always set YQ=0.
The alternative would of course be to always set YQ=0. And if
we ever encounter a HDMI 2.0+ sink with this bug that's what
we'll probably have to do.
