2022-09-07drm: rcar-du: dsi: Fix VCLKSET writeTomi Valkeinen1-2/+2
rcar_mipi_dsi_startup() writes correct values to VCLKSET, but as it uses or-operation to add the new values to the current value in the register, it should first make sure the fields are cleared. Do this by using rcar_mipi_dsi_write() to write the VCLKSET register with a variable that has all the unused bits zeroed. 2022-09-07drm: rcar-du: Fix DSI enable & disable sequenceTomi Valkeinen5-6/+83
The rcar crtc depends on the clock provided from the rcar DSI bridge. When the DSI bridge is disabled, the clock is stopped, which causes the crtc disable to timeout. Also, while I have no issue with the enable, the documentation suggests to enable the DSI before the crtc so that the crtc has its clock enabled at enable time. This is also not done by the current driver. To fix this, we need to keep the DSI bridge enabled until the crtc has disabled itself, and enable the DSI bridge before crtc enables itself. Add functions rcar_mipi_dsi_pclk_enable and rcar_mipi_dsi_pclk_disable to the rcar DSI bridge driver which the rcar driver can use to enable/disable the DSI clock when needed. This is similar to what is already done with the rcar LVDS bridge. Improve the DSI shutdown procedure by clearing various bits that were set while enabling the DSI output. There has been no clear issues caused by these, but it's safer to ensure that the features are disabled at the start of the next DSI enable. 2022-09-07drm: rcar-du: dsi: Properly stop video mode TXTomi Valkeinen1-0/+29
The driver does not explicitly stop the video mode transmission when disabling the output. While this doesn't seem to be causing any issues, lets follow the steps described in the documentation and add a rcar_mipi_dsi_stop_video() which stop the video mode transmission. This function will also be used in later patches to stop the video transmission even if the DSI IP is not shut down. The DU driver uses the rcar_lvds_clk_enable() and rcar_lvds_clk_disable() functions enable or disable the pixel clock generated by the LVDS encoder, as it requires that clock for proper DU operation. Rename the functions by replacing "clk" with "pclk" to make it clearer that they related to the pixel clock. 2022-09-07drm: rcar-du: Fix r8a779a0 color issueTomi Valkeinen3-4/+12
The rcar DU driver on r8a779a0 has a bug causing some specific colors getting converted to transparent colors, which then (usually) show as black pixels on the screen. The reason seems to be that the driver sets PnMR_SPIM_ALP bit in PnMR.SPIM field, which is an illegal setting on r8a779a0. The PnMR_SPIM_EOR bit also illegal. Add a new feature flag for this (lack of a) feature and make sure the bits are zero on r8a779a0. 2022-09-07drm: rcar-du: Add DRM_MODE_BLEND_PIXEL_NONE supportTakanari Hayama1-1/+19
DRM_MODE_BLEND_PIXEL_NONE ignores an alpha channel. Rcar-du driver supports only 3 formats with an alpha channel (DRM_FORMAT_ARGB1555, DRM_FORMAT_ARGB8888 and DRM_FORMAT_ARGB4444). We simply override the format passed to VSP1 for blending with the pixel format without alpha channel. 2022-09-07drm: rcar-du: Add DRM_MODE_BLEND_PREMULTI supportTakanari Hayama1-0/+6
R-Car DU driver implicitly supports DRM_MODE_BLEND_COVERAGE only. This adds a support for DRM_MODE_BLEND_PREMULTI. As a consequence, DRM_MODE_BLEND_PREMULTI becomes the default. If DRM_MODE_BLEND_COVERAGE is desired, it should be set explicitly. This behavior comes from how DRM blend mode is supported. drm_plane_create_blend_mode_property() creates the blend mode property with the default value of DRM_MODE_BLEND_PREMULTI. This default value cannot be modified from the atomic driver. The field paddr of struct drm_gem_dma_object holds a DMA address, which might actually be a physical address. However, depending on the platform, it can also be a bus address or a virtual address managed by an IOMMU. Hence, rename the field to dma_addr, which is more applicable. 2022-07-07drm: rcar-du: Lift z-pos restriction on primary plane for Gen3Laurent Pinchart1-8/+3
There's no reason to require the primary plane to always be at the bottom of the stack, as the VSP supports arbitrary ordering of planes, and the KMS API doesn't have such a requirement either. Lift the restriction. As the primary plane can now be positioned arbitrarily, enable control of its alpha channel as well. As per R-Car-Gen3_Common_OPC_Customer_Notifications_V30.1.pdf, unexpected image output(such as incorrect colors or planes being invisible) can happen on the below conditions, as PnALPHAR register is not initialized by reset. When alpha blending (PpMRm.PpSPIM=0b101) is performed and: •two Planes are enabled on any DUn (n=0,1,2,3) oDSPRn= 0x0000 0031 or 0x0000 0013 •or DU0 and DU1 is used for display at the same time oDSPR0= 0x0000 0001 and DSPR1= 0x0000 0003 oDSPR0= 0x0000 0003 and DSPR1= 0x0000 0001 •or DU2 and DU3(H3 Only) is used for display at the same time oDSPR2= 0x0000 0001 and DSPR3= 0x0000 0003 oDSPR2= 0x0000 0003 and DSPR3= 0x0000 0001 This patch set PnALPHAR register to 0 to avoid this issue. The rcar-du driver goes to great lengths to preserve device tree backward compatibility for the LVDS encoders by patching old device trees at runtime. The last R-Car Gen2 platform was converted to the new bindings commit edb0c3affe5214a2 ("ARM: dts: r8a7793: Convert to new LVDS DT bindings"), in v4.17, and the last RZ/G1 platform converted in commit 6a6a797625b5fe85 ("ARM: dts: r8a7743: Convert to new LVDS DT bindings"), in v5.0. Both are older than commit 58256143cff7c2e0 ("clk: renesas: Remove R-Car Gen2 legacy DT clock support"), in v5.5, which removes support for legacy bindings for clocks. The LVDS compatibility code is thus not needed anymore. Drop it. 2022-02-25drm/rcar: plane: Remove redundant zpos initialisationMaxime Ripard2-2/+0
The rcar-du KMS driver will call drm_plane_create_zpos_property() with an init value depending on the plane type. Since the initial value wasn't carried over in the state, the driver had to set it again in rcar_du_plane_reset() and rcar_du_vsp_plane_reset(). However, the helpers have been adjusted to set it properly at reset, so this is not needed anymore. DRM drivers will not perform display-mode changes or accelerated rendering and only the system framebuffer will be available if it was set-up. On platforms with an external clock, both the group and crtc must be handled accordingly to correctly pass through the external clock and configure the DU to use the external rate. The CRTC support was missed while adding the DSI support on the r8a779a0 which led to the output clocks being incorrectly determined. Ensure that when a CRTC is routed through the DSI encoder, the external clock is used without any further divider being applied. When the CMM is enabled, an offset of 25 pixels must be subtracted from the HDS (horizontal display start) and HDE (horizontal display end) registers. Fix the timings calculation, and take this into account in the mode validation. This fixes a visible horizontal offset in the image with VGA monitors. The meaning of the 'imply' keyword has changed recently, and neither the old meaning (select the symbol if its dependencies are met) nor the new meaning (enable it by default, but let the user set any other setting) is what we want here.
