2020-08-17drm/qxl: don't take vga ports on rev5+Gerd Hoffmann1-3/+3
qemu 5.0 introduces a new qxl hardware revision 5. Unlike revision 4 (and below) the device doesn't switch back into vga compatibility mode when someone touches the vga ports. So we don't have to reserve the vga ports any more to avoid that happening. 2019-08-23drm/qxl: get vga ioportsGerd Hoffmann1-1/+19
qxl has two modes: "native" (used by the drm driver) and "vga" (vga compatibility mode, typically used for boot display and firmware framebuffers). Accessing any vga ioport will switch the qxl device into vga mode. The qxl driver never does that, but other drivers accessing vga ports can trigger that too and therefore disturb qxl operation. So aquire the legacy vga ioports from vgaarb to avoid that. Reproducer: Boot kvm guest with both qxl and i915 vgpu, with qxl being first in pci scan order. v2: Skip this for secondary qxl cards which don't have vga mode in the first place (Frediano). 2019-01-29drm/irq: Ditch DRIVER_IRQ_SHAREDDaniel Vetter1-1/+0
This is only used by drm_irq_install(), which is an optional helper. For legacy pci devices this is required (due to interrupt sharing without msi/msi-x), and just making this the default exactly matches the behaviour of all existing drivers using the drm_irq_install() helpers. In case that ever becomes wrong drivers can roll their own irq handling, as many drivers already do (for other reasons like needing a threaded interrupt handler, or having an entire pile of different interrupt sources). v2: Rebase v3: Improve commit message (Emil) Cc: Sam Ravnborg <[email protected]> Reviewed-by: Emil Velikov <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Daniel Vetter <[email protected]> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/[email protected]

2019-01-24drm: Split out drm_probe_helper.hDaniel Vetter1-1/+2
Having the probe helper stuff (which pretty much everyone needs) in the drm_crtc_helper.h file (which atomic drivers should never need) is confusing. Split them out. To make sure I actually achieved the goal here I went through all drivers. And indeed, all atomic drivers are now free of drm_crtc_helper.h includes. v2: Make it compile. There was so much compile fail on arm drivers that I figured I'll better not include any of the acks on v1. v3: Massive rebase because i915 has lost a lot of drmP.h includes, but not all: Through drm_crtc_helper.h > drm_modeset_helper.h -> drmP.h there was still one, which this patch largely removes. Which means rolling out lots more includes all over. This will also conflict with ongoing drmP.h cleanup by others I expect. v3: Rebase on top of atomic bochs. v4: Review from Laurent for bridge/rcar/omap/shmob/core bits: - (re)move some of the added includes, use the better include files in other places (all suggested from Laurent adopted unchanged). - sort alphabetically v5: Actually try to sort them, and while at it, sort all the ones I touch. v6: Rebase onto i915 changes. v7: Rebase once more. 2018-09-05qxl: fix null-pointer crash during suspendPeter Wu1-21/+5
"crtc->helper_private" is not initialized by the QXL driver and thus the "crtc_funcs->disable" call would crash (resulting in suspend failure). Fix this by converting the suspend/resume functions to use the drm_mode_config_helper_* helpers. Tested system sleep with QEMU 3.0 using "echo mem > /sys/power/state". During suspend the following message is visible from QEMU: spice/server/display-channel.c:2425:display_channel_validate_surface: canvas address is 0x7fd05da68308 for 0 (and is NULL) spice/server/display-channel.c:2426:display_channel_validate_surface: failed on 0 This seems to be triggered by QXL_IO_NOTIFY_CMD after QXL_IO_DESTROY_PRIMARY_ASYNC, but aside from the warning things still seem to work (tested with both the GTK and -spice options). This allows us to ditch a ton of ugly #ifdefs from a bunch of drm modeset drivers. v2: Make the dummy function actually return a sane value, spotted by Ville. v3: Because the patch is still in limbo there's no more drivers to convert, noticed by Emil. v4: Rebase once more, because hooray. I'll just go ahead an apply this one later on to drm-misc. 2015-10-06drm/irq: Use unsigned int pipe in public APIThierry Reding1-3/+4
This continues the pattern started in commit cc1ef118fc09 ("drm/irq: Make pipe unsigned and name consistent"). This is applied to the public APIs and driver callbacks, so pretty much all drivers need to be updated to match the new prototypes. 2015-05-04drm/qxl: Fix qxl_noop_get_vblank_counter()Mario Kleiner1-1/+1
This breaks under the vblank timestamp cleanup patch by Daniel Vetter. Also it is pointless to return anything but zero (or any other constant) if the function doesn't actually query a hw vblank counter. The bogus return of the current drm vblank counter via direct readout or via drm_vblank_count() is found in many of the new kms drivers, but it does exactly nothing different from returning any arbitrary constant - it's a no operation. Let's simply return 0 - Easy and fast. Signed-off-by: Mario Kleiner <[email protected]> Cc: Dave Airlie <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Daniel Vetter <[email protected]>

2014-09-10drm: add driver->set_busid() callbackDavid Herrmann1-0/+2
One step closer to dropping all the drm_bus_* code: Add a driver->set_busid() callback and make all drivers use the generic helpers. Nouveau is the only driver that uses two different bus-types with the same drm_driver. This is totally broken if both buses are available on the same machine (unlikely, but lets be safe). Therefore, we create two different drivers for each platform during module_init() and set the set_busid() callback respectively.
