2020-08-26drm/exynos: gem: Fix sparse warningMarek Szyprowski1-1/+1
kvaddr element of the exynos_gem object points to a memory buffer, thus it should not have a __iomem annotation. Then, to avoid a warning or casting on assignment to fbi structure, the screen_buffer element of the union should be used instead of the screen_base. 2020-05-18drm/exynos: gem: Get rid of the internal 'pages' arrayMarek Szyprowski1-27/+1
Internal pages array and scatter-list for them is not really needed for anything. FBDev emulation can simply rely on the DMA-mapping framework to create a proper kernel mapping for the buffer, while all other buffer use cases don't really need that array at all. 2019-06-27drm/exynos: trigger build of all modulesSam Ravnborg1-0/+1
Add COMPILE_TEST dependency to force exynos driver to built for more than arm and to built modules that otherwise required other symbols to be de-selected. This will increase build coverage of the exynos driver thus allowing most trivial build errors to be detected/fixed early. This introduces one warning when built using sh: exynos7_drm_decon.c: In function ‘decon_remove’: exynos7_drm_decon.c:769:24: warning: unused variable ‘ctx’ struct decon_context *ctx = dev_get_drvdata(&pdev->dev); This is due to the definition of iounmap() in sh, and nothing that exynos driver can fix. 2019-01-24drm: Split out drm_probe_helper.hDaniel Vetter1-1/+1
Having the probe helper stuff (which pretty much everyone needs) in the drm_crtc_helper.h file (which atomic drivers should never need) is confusing. Split them out. To make sure I actually achieved the goal here I went through all drivers. And indeed, all atomic drivers are now free of drm_crtc_helper.h includes. v2: Make it compile. There was so much compile fail on arm drivers that I figured I'll better not include any of the acks on v1. v3: Massive rebase because i915 has lost a lot of drmP.h includes, but not all: Through drm_crtc_helper.h > drm_modeset_helper.h -> drmP.h there was still one, which this patch largely removes. Which means rolling out lots more includes all over. This will also conflict with ongoing drmP.h cleanup by others I expect. v3: Rebase on top of atomic bochs. v4: Review from Laurent for bridge/rcar/omap/shmob/core bits: - (re)move some of the added includes, use the better include files in other places (all suggested from Laurent adopted unchanged). - sort alphabetically v5: Actually try to sort them, and while at it, sort all the ones I touch. v6: Rebase onto i915 changes. v7: Rebase once more. 2017-02-02drm: Rely on mode_config data for fb_helper initializationGabriel Krisman Bertazi1-4/+1

Instead I did the unsafe way, and tried to look over the entire diff to spot if any dangerous expressions were produced. I didn't see any. 2016-08-04dma-mapping: use unsigned long for dma_attrsKrzysztof Kozlowski1-1/+1
The dma-mapping core and the implementations do not change the DMA attributes passed by pointer. Thus the pointer can point to const data. However the attributes do not have to be a bitfield. Instead unsigned long will do fine: 1. This is just simpler. Both in terms of reading the code and setting attributes. Instead of initializing local attributes on the stack and passing pointer to it to dma_set_attr(), just set the bits. 2. It brings safeness and checking for const correctness because the attributes are passed by value. 2016-03-01drm/exynos: use real device for DMA-mapping operationsMarek Szyprowski1-1/+1
This patch changes device pointer provided to all calls to DMA-mapping subsystem from the virtual exynos-drm 'device' to the real device pointer of one of the CRTC devices (decon, fimd or mixer). This way no more hacks will be needed to configure proper DMA-mapping address space on the common virtual exynos-drm device. This change also removes the need for some hacks in IOMMU related code. It also finally solves the problem of Exynos DRM driver not working on ARM64 architecture, which provides noop-based DMA-mapping operations for virtual platform devices. 2015-10-26drm/exynos: cleanup name of gem object for exynos_drmJoonyoung Shim1-25/+28
Struct of gem object in exynos_drm driver is struct exynos_drm_gem_obj. It's too long and we can know its meaning of name without _obj postfix. We use several names to variable name of gem object for exynos_drm - exynos_gem_obj, gem_obj and obj. Especially "obj" name can cause misunderstanding with variable name "obj" of struct drm_gem_object. This will clean about name of gem object for exynos_drm as follows. s/struct exynos_drm_gem_obj/struct exynos_drm_gem s/exynos_gem_obj or gem_obj or obj/exynos_gem Signed-off-by: Joonyoung Shim <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <[email protected]>

2015-02-07drm/exynos: fix DMA_ATTR_NO_KERNEL_MAPPING usageCarlo Caione1-20/+9
The Exynos DRM driver doesn't follow the correct API when dealing with dma_{alloc, mmap, free}_attrs functions and the DMA_ATTR_NO_KERNEL_MAPPING attribute. When a IOMMU is not available and the DMA_ATTR_NO_KERNEL_MAPPING is used, the driver should use the pointer returned by dma_alloc_attr() as a cookie. The Exynos DRM driver directly uses the non-requested virtual kernel address returned by the DMA mapping subsystem. This just works now because the non-IOMMU codepath doesn't obey DMA_ATTR_NO_KERNEL_MAPPING but we need to fix it before fixing the DMA layer. 2014-07-08drm: Introduce drm_fb_helper_prepare()Thierry Reding1-1/+2
To implement hotplug detection in a race-free manner, drivers must call drm_kms_helper_poll_init() before hotplug events can be triggered. Such events can be triggered right after any of the encoders or connectors are initialized. At the same time, if the drm_fb_helper_hotplug_event() helper is used by a driver, then the poll helper requires some parts of the FB helper to be initialized to prevent a crash. At the same time, drm_fb_helper_init() requires information that is not necessarily available at such an early stage (number of CRTCs and connectors), so it cannot be used yet. Add a new helper, drm_fb_helper_prepare(), that initializes the bare minimum needed to allow drm_kms_helper_poll_init() to execute and any subsequent hotplug events to be processed properly.
