2020-08-30ARM: dts: imx: Fix the SPI chipselect polarityFabio Estevam56-81/+82
The conversion of the spi-imx driver to use GPIO descriptors in commit 8cdcd8aeee28 ("spi: imx/fsl-lpspi: Convert to GPIO descriptors") helped to detect the following SPI chipselect polarity mismatch on an imx6q-sabresd: [ 4.854337] m25p80@0 enforce active low on chipselect handle Prior to the above commit, the chipselect polarity passed via cs-gpios property was ignored and considered active-low. The reason for such mismatch is clearly explained in the comments inside drivers/gpio/gpiolib-of.c: * SPI children have active low chip selects * by default. This can be specified negatively * by just omitting "spi-cs-high" in the * device node, or actively by tagging on * GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW as flag in the device * tree. If the line is simultaneously * tagged as active low in the device tree * and has the "spi-cs-high" set, we get a * conflict and the "spi-cs-high" flag will * take precedence. To properly represent the SPI chipselect polarity, change it to active-low when the "spi-cs-high" property is absent. According to the reference manual of the i.MX25 the function name for the GPT capture input is called CAPIN1. 2020-08-22ARM: dts: imx6dl-yapp4: Add support for OLED based on different controllerMichal Vokáč3-3/+24
OLED display consist of an OLED panel and a display controller. The displays that were used on yapp4 platform were based on a SSD1305 controller. These displays are now discontinued and we need to add support for a replacement. The new display is based on SSD1309 controller and requires slightly different configuration (mirror + segment offset). We want to support both display types so it does no matter which one was used on the assembly line. Hence the displays are placed at different I2C addresses. 2020-08-17ARM: dts: ZII: Disable HW Ethernet switch reset GPIOsChris Healy4-8/+0
Disable Ethernet switch reset GPIO with ZII platforms that have it enabled. HW switch reset results in a reset of the copper PHYs inside of the switch. We want to avoid this reset of the copper PHYs in the switch as this results in unnecessary broader network disruption on a soft reboot of the application processor. With the HW GPIO removed, the switch driver still performs a soft reset of the switch core which has been shown to sufficiently meet our needs with other ZII platforms that do not have the HW switch reset GPIO defined. 2020-08-16parisc: fix PMD pages allocation by restoring pmd_alloc_one()Mike Rapoport1-0/+6
Commit 1355c31eeb7e ("asm-generic: pgalloc: provide generic pmd_alloc_one() and pmd_free_one()") converted parisc to use generic version of pmd_alloc_one() but it missed the fact that parisc uses order-1 pages for PMD. Restore the original version of pmd_alloc_one() for parisc, just use GFP_PGTABLE_KERNEL that implies __GFP_ZERO instead of GFP_KERNEL and memset. Patch series "iomap: Constify ioreadX() iomem argument", v3. The ioread8/16/32() and others have inconsistent interface among the architectures: some taking address as const, some not. It seems there is nothing really stopping all of them to take pointer to const. This patch (of 4): The ioreadX() and ioreadX_rep() helpers have inconsistent interface. On some architectures void *__iomem address argument is a pointer to const, on some not. Implementations of ioreadX() do not modify the memory under the address so they can be converted to a "const" version for const-safety and consistency among architectures. Since commit 61a47c1ad3a4dc ("sysctl: Remove the sysctl system call"), sys_sysctl is actually unavailable: any input can only return an error. We have been warning about people using the sysctl system call for years and believe there are no more users. Even if there are users of this interface if they have not complained or fixed their code by now they probably are not going to, so there is no point in warning them any longer. So completely remove sys_sysctl on all architectures. 2020-08-14sh: landisk: Add missing initialization of sh_io_port_baseGeert Uytterhoeven1-0/+3
The Landisk setup code maps the CF IDE area using ioremap_prot(), and passes the resulting virtual addresses to the pata_platform driver, disguising them as I/O port addresses. Hence the pata_platform driver translates them again using ioport_map(). As CONFIG_GENERIC_IOMAP=n, and CONFIG_HAS_IOPORT_MAP=y, the SuperH-specific mapping code in arch/sh/kernel/ioport.c translates I/O port addresses to virtual addresses by adding sh_io_port_base, which defaults to -1, thus breaking the assumption of an identity mapping. This switches to using common code for the DMA allocations, including potential use of the CMA allocator if configured. Switching to the generic code enables DMA allocations from atomic context, which is required by the DMA API documentation, and also adds various other minor features drivers start relying upon. It also makes sure we have on tested code base for all architectures that require uncached pte bits for coherent DMA allocations.
