2019-05-30treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 152Thomas Gleixner1-6/+1
Based on 1 normalized pattern(s): this program is free software you can redistribute it and or modify it under the terms of the gnu general public license as published by the free software foundation either version 2 of the license or at your option any later version extracted by the scancode license scanner the SPDX license identifier GPL-2.0-or-later has been chosen to replace the boilerplate/reference in 3029 file(s). 2013-10-09openrisc: remove unnecessary prom.c includesRob Herring1-22/+0
It appears openrisc prom.c was just copied from another arch with a bunch of unnecessary includes. Remove all the unecessary ones. Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <[email protected]> Cc: Jonas Bonn <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected]
2013-10-09of: remove early_init_dt_setup_initrd_archRob Herring1-9/+0
All arches do essentially the same thing now for early_init_dt_setup_initrd_arch, so it can now be removed. 2013-10-09of: create default early_init_dt_add_memory_archRob Herring1-6/+0
Create a weak version of early_init_dt_add_memory_arch which uses memblock. This will unify all architectures except ones with custom memory bank structs. 2013-10-09openrisc: use early_init_dt_scanRob Herring1-14/+1
Convert openrisc to use new early_init_dt_scan function. Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <[email protected]> Cc: Jonas Bonn <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected]
2013-10-09openrisc: use unflatten_and_copy_device_treeRob Herring1-13/+0
Use the common unflatten_and_copy_device_tree to copy the built-in FDT out of init section. This moves the copy later in the boot, but there do not appear to be any references to strings in the FDT before the copy. 2013-10-09openrisc: use boot_command_line instead of private cmd_lineRob Herring1-6/+1
Save some pointless copying of the kernel command line and just use boot_command_line instead. The DT code already handles CONFIG_CMDLINE, so a separate copy is not needed. 2013-08-28of: consolidate definition of early_init_dt_alloc_memory_arch()Grant Likely1-5/+0
Most architectures use the same implementation. Collapse the common ones into a single weak function that can be overridden. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <[email protected]>
2013-07-24of: Specify initrd location using 64-bitSantosh Shilimkar1-2/+1
On some PAE architectures, the entire range of physical memory could reside outside the 32-bit limit. These systems need the ability to specify the initrd location using 64-bit numbers. This patch globally modifies the early_init_dt_setup_initrd_arch() function to use 64-bit numbers instead of the current unsigned long. There has been quite a bit of debate about whether to use u64 or phys_addr_t. It was concluded to stick to u64 to be consistent with rest of the device tree code. As summarized by Geert, "The address to load the initrd is decided by the bootloader/user and set at that point later in time. The dtb should not be tied to the kernel you are booting" More details on the discussion can be found here: https://lkml.org/lkml/2013/6/20/690 https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/9/13/544 Signed-off-by: Santosh Shilimkar <[email protected]> Acked-by: Rob Herring <[email protected]> Acked-by: Vineet Gupta <[email protected]> Acked-by: Jean-Christophe PLAGNIOL-VILLARD <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <[email protected]>

2011-12-08memblock: s/memblock_analyze()/memblock_allow_resize()/ and update usersTejun Heo1-1/+1
The only function of memblock_analyze() is now allowing resize of memblock region arrays. Rename it to memblock_allow_resize() and update its users. * The following users remain the same other than renaming. arm/mm/init.c::arm_memblock_init() microblaze/kernel/prom.c::early_init_devtree() powerpc/kernel/prom.c::early_init_devtree() openrisc/kernel/prom.c::early_init_devtree() sh/mm/init.c::paging_init() sparc/mm/init_64.c::paging_init() unicore32/mm/init.c::uc32_memblock_init() * In the following users, analyze was used to update total size which is no longer necessary. powerpc/kernel/machine_kexec.c::reserve_crashkernel() powerpc/kernel/prom.c::early_init_devtree() powerpc/mm/init_32.c::MMU_init() powerpc/mm/tlb_nohash.c::__early_init_mmu() powerpc/platforms/ps3/mm.c::ps3_mm_add_memory() powerpc/platforms/embedded6xx/wii.c::wii_memory_fixups() sh/kernel/machine_kexec.c::reserve_crashkernel() * x86/kernel/e820.c::memblock_x86_fill() was directly setting memblock_can_resize before populating memblock and calling analyze afterwards. Call memblock_allow_resize() before start populating. memblock_can_resize is now static inside memblock.c. 2011-12-08memblock: Kill memblock_init()Tejun Heo1-1/+0
memblock_init() initializes arrays for regions and memblock itself; however, all these can be done with struct initializers and memblock_init() can be removed. This patch kills memblock_init() and initializes memblock with struct initializer. The only difference is that the first dummy entries don't have .nid set to MAX_NUMNODES initially. This doesn't cause any behavior difference. 2011-07-22OpenRISC: Device treeJonas Bonn1-0/+108
The OpenRISC architecture uses the device tree infrastructure for the platform description. This is currently limited to having a device tree built into the kernel, but work is underway within the OpenRISC project to define how this device tree blob should be passed into the kernel from an external resource. Patch contains a single example DTS file to go with the defconfig for or1ksim. Signed-off-by: Jonas Bonn <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected] Reviewed-by: Arnd Bergmann <[email protected]>
