2023-10-06m68k: sun3: Change led_pattern[] to unsigned charGeert Uytterhoeven1-5/+5
The values stored in led_pattern[] are only used for passing to sun3_leds(), which takes an "unsigned char". Change the type of led_pattern[] accordingly, to reduce kernel size. 2021-09-24m68k: Remove set_fs()Christoph Hellwig1-1/+0
Add a m68k-only set_fc helper to set the SFC and DFC registers for the few places that need to override it for special MM operations, but disconnect that from the deprecated kernel-wide set_fs() API. Note that the SFC/DFC registers are context switched, so there is no need to disable preemption. Partially based on an earlier patch from Linus Torvalds <[email protected]>. 2020-10-30m68k: sun3/sun3c: use legacy_timer_tickArnd Bergmann1-2/+1
These two are different from all other machines: * sun3 does not call timer_routine() but open-codes it except for the profile_tick() call that appears to be unintentionally missing. * sun3x has a commented-out timer irq handler but no functional timer tick I could find. Change both to calling the new legacy_timer_tick here, which includes the call to profile_tick() but does not fix sun3x as that is still commented out. 2019-03-25m68k: Call timer_interrupt() with interrupts disabledFinn Thain1-0/+3
Some platforms execute their timer handler with the interrupt priority level set below 6. That means the handler could be interrupted by another driver and this could lead to re-entry of the timer core. Avoid this by use of local_irq_save/restore for timer interrupt dispatch. This provides mutual exclusion around the timer interrupt flag access which is needed later in this series for the clocksource conversion. 2012-11-14m68k/sun3: Get interrupts working againThomas Bogendoerfer1-25/+4
SUN3 Intregister is not for enabling individual interrupts, but to enable special interrupts. So using it for interrupt enable/disable was wrong. 2006-10-07[PATCH] m68k pt_regs fixesAl Viro1-5/+6
m68k_handle_int() split in two functions: __m68k_handle_int() takes pt_regs * and does set_irq_regs(); m68k_handle_int() doesn't get pt_regs *. Places where we used to call m68k_handle_int() recursively with the same pt_regs have simply lost the second argument, the rest is switched to __m68k_handle_int(). 2006-09-29[PATCH] simplify update_times (avoid jiffies/jiffies_64 aliasing problem)Atsushi Nemoto1-1/+1
Pass ticks to do_timer() and update_times(), and adjust x86_64 and s390 timer interrupt handler with this change. Currently update_times() calculates ticks by "jiffies - wall_jiffies", but callers of do_timer() should know how many ticks to update. Passing ticks get rid of this redundant calculation. Also there are another redundancy pointed out by Martin Schwidefsky. This cleanup make a barrier added by 5aee405c662ca644980c184774277fc6d0769a84 needless. So this patch removes it. As a bonus, this cleanup make wall_jiffies can be removed easily, since now wall_jiffies is always synced with jiffies. (This patch does not really remove wall_jiffies. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
