2014-02-28ARM: OMAP2+: AM43xx: implement support for machine restartLokesh Vutla1-0/+1
Add restart hook so that AM4372 builds can restart the platform. Signed-off-by: Lokesh Vutla <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Paul Walmsley <[email protected]>
2014-01-08ARM: OMAP2+: board-generic: update SoC compatibility stringsNishanth Menon1-0/+7
Now that we have standardized SoC definitions, update the compatibility strings in board machine descriptors. Eventually, we should just have SoC compatiblity here and all board specific stuff should disappear. Signed-off-by: Nishanth Menon <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <[email protected]>
2013-12-06ARM: OMAP2+: Fix the machine entry for am3517Nishanth Menon1-0/+18
The am3517 is wrongly booting as omap3 which means that the am3517 specific devices like Ethernet won't work when booted with device tree. Now with the new devices defined in am3517.dtsi, let's use that instead of the omap3.dtsi, and add a separate machine entry for am3517 so am3517-evm can use it. 2013-10-22ARM: OMAP2+: add missing lateinit hook for calling pm late initNishanth Menon1-0/+4
AM335x, AM43xx, OMAP5 and DRA7 have missing late init hook. Introduce SoC specific hook with a call to OMAP2+ generic lateinit hook. This allows the generic late initializations such as cpufreq hooks to be active. Based on out-of-tree patches that need to be introduced in mainline, this introduction allows us to provide the foundation for further SoC specific features as they are developed. 2013-10-14Merge branches 'omap-for-v3.13/dt' and 'omap-for-v3.13/quirk' into ↵Tony Lindgren1-35/+1
omap-for-v3.13/board-removal We need the fixes in v3.12-rc5, dts changes in omap-for-v3.13/dt, and the platform data quirk changes in omap-for-v3.13/quirk to start removing omap3 board files without breaking things.
2013-10-10ARM: OMAP2+: Add support for auxdataTony Lindgren1-4/+1
For few things we're still going to be needing platform data for device tree based drivers. Let's set up auxdata handling and do it in pdata-quirks.c so we have all the legacy calls in one place. 2013-10-08ARM: OMAP3: Fix hardware detection for omap3630 when booted with device treeNishanth Menon1-0/+18
SoC family definitions at the moment are reactive to board needs as a result, beagle-xm would matchup with ti,omap3 which invokes omap3430_init_early instead of omap3630_init_early. Obviously, this is the wrong behavior. With clock node dts conversion, we get the following warnings before system hangs as a result and 3630 based platforms fails to boot (uart4 clocks are only present in OMAP3630 and not present in OMAP3430): ... omap_hwmod: uart4: cannot clk_get main_clk uart4_fck omap_hwmod: uart4: cannot _init_clocks WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 1 at arch/arm/mach-omap2/omap_hwmod.c:2434 _init+0x6c/0x80() omap_hwmod: uart4: couldn't init clocks ... 2013-09-25ARM: OMAP2+: Add quirk support for legacy platform data initTony Lindgren1-0/+1
We want to drop the board-*.c files but keep things working. Let's make it a bit easier to support legacy platform data init with quirks. This also keeps board-generic.c clean from board specific hacks. For now, the quirks table is empty, that is populated in the later patches. Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <[email protected]>
2013-08-23ARM: OMAP: DRA7: Reuse the omap44xx_restart and fix the device instanceRajendra Nayak1-0/+1
The omap44xx_restart used on omap4 and omap5 devices can be reused on dra7 devices as well. The device instance however is different across omap5 and dra7 as compared to omap4. There is a lot of redundancy in the definitions for the various system timers for OMAP2+ devices. For example, the omap3_am33xx_gptimer_timer_init() function is the same as the omap3_gp_gptimer_timer_init() function and the function omap4_sync32k_timer_init() can be re-used for OMAP5 devices. 2012-11-02ARM: OMAP3: Add generic machine descriptor for boards with OMAP3 GP devicesJon Hunter1-0/+17
OMAP3 devices may or may not have security features enabled. Security enabled devices are known as high-secure (HS) and devices without security are known as general purpose (GP). Some OMAP3 boards, such as the OMAP3 beagle board, only use GP devices and for GP devices there is a 12th timer available on-chip that can operate at 32kHz. The clock for 12th timer is generated by an internal oscillator and is unique this timer. Boards such as the beagle board use this timer as a 32kHz based clock-events timer because early versions of the board had a hardware problem preventing them from using other on-chip timers clocked by a external 32kHz clock. When booting with device-tree all OMAP3 devices use timer 1 by default for the clock-events timer. Therefore, add a generic machine descriptor for boards with OMAP3 GP devices so that they can use the 12th timer as the clock-events timer instead of the default. 2012-09-12ARM: OMAP: Split plat/hardware.h, use local soc.h for omap2+Tony Lindgren1-1/+0
As the plat and mach includes need to disappear for single zImage work, we need to remove plat/hardware.h. Do this by splitting plat/hardware.h into omap1 and omap2+ specific files. The old plat/hardware.h already has omap1 only defines, so it gets moved to mach/hardware.h for omap1. For omap2+, we use the local soc.h that for now just includes the related SoC headers to keep this patch more readable. Note that the local soc.h still includes plat/cpu.h that can be dealt with in later patches. Let's also include plat/serial.h from common.h for all the board-*.c files. This allows making the include files local later on without patching these files again. Note that only minimal changes are done in this patch for the drivers/watchdog/omap_wdt.c driver to keep things compiling. Further patches are needed to eventually remove cpu_is_omap usage in the drivers. Also only minimal changes are done to sound/soc/omap/* to remove the unneeded includes and to define OMAP44XX_MCPDM_L3_BASE locally so there's no need to include omap44xx.h. While at it, also sort some of the includes in the standard way. 2012-07-09ARM: omap2+: board-generic: clean up the irq data from board fileR Sricharan1-17/+6
Move the irq_match arrays and the irq init functions of OMAP 2,3 and 4 based boards out of board-generic.c file and also rename the irq init function to match the interrupt controller present in the SOCs. 2012-06-05ARM: OMAP2+: am33xx: Add AM335XEVM machine supportAfzal Mohammed1-0/+18
This patch adds minimal support for AM335X machine init. During last merge window, two separate patches supporting am33xx machine init had been submitted, 1. Link to earlier Baseport patch submission (Legacy): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg59325.html 2. Link to earlier DT based machine init support patch submission: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg61398.html And both had got accepted at that time, but got missed during merge window. But now, since we have taken decision to make am33xx as a separate class and not to follow omap3 family, these patches needs to changes accordingly (only changes), - Combine both the patches, since early init and timer init used in board-generic.c file requires them. - Remove dependency on AM3517EVM, and only use DT approach for machine init. - Change the config option (as changed recently) CONFIG_SOC_OMAPAM33XX --> CONFIG_SOC_AM33XX Signed-off-by: Vaibhav Hiremath <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Vaibhav Hiremath <[email protected]> Cc: Benoit Cousson <[email protected]> Cc: Paul Walmsley <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <[email protected]>

2012-02-16irq_domain: Remove irq_domain_add_simple()Grant Likely1-1/+1
irq_domain_add_simple() was a stop-gap measure until complete irq_domain support was complete. This patch removes the irq_domain_add_simple() interface. This patch also drops the explicit irq_domain initialization performed by the mach-versatile code because the versatile interrupt controller already has irq_domain support built into it. This was a bug that was hanging around quietly for a while, but with the full irq_domain which actually verifies that irq_domain ranges are available it would cause the registration to fail and the system wouldn't boot. v4: Fixed number of irqs in mx5 gpio code v2: Updated to pass in host_data pointer on irq_domain allocation.
