2023-01-16dt-bindings: net: dsa: utilize base definitions for standard dsa switchesColin Foster11-13/+32
DSA switches can fall into one of two categories: switches where all ports follow standard '(ethernet-)?port' properties, and switches that have additional properties for the ports. The scenario where DSA ports are all standardized can be handled by switches with a reference to the new 'dsa.yaml#/$defs/ethernet-ports'. The scenario where DSA ports require additional properties can reference '$dsa.yaml#' directly. This will allow switches to reference these standard definitions of the DSA switch, but add additional properties under the port nodes. 2023-01-10dt-bindings: net: phy: add MaxLinear GPY2xx bindingsMichael Walle1-0/+47
Add the device tree bindings for the MaxLinear GPY2xx PHYs, which essentially adds just one flag: maxlinear,use-broken-interrupts. One might argue, that if interrupts are broken, just don't use the interrupt property in the first place. But it needs to be more nuanced. First, this interrupt line is also used to wake up systems by WoL, which has nothing to do with the (broken) PHY interrupt handling. Second and more importantly, there are devicetrees which have this property set. Thus, within the driver we have to switch off interrupt handling by default as a workaround. But OTOH, a systems designer who knows the hardware and knows there are no shared interrupts for example, can use this new property as a hint to the driver that it can enable the interrupt nonetheless. 2023-01-06rxrpc: Move call state changes from sendmsg to I/O threadDavid Howells1-2/+2
Move all the call state changes that are made in rxrpc_sendmsg() to the I/O thread. This is a step towards removing the call state lock. This requires the switch to the RXRPC_CALL_CLIENT_AWAIT_REPLY and RXRPC_CALL_SERVER_SEND_REPLY states to be done when the last packet is decanted from ->tx_sendmsg to ->tx_buffer in the I/O thread, not when it is added to ->tx_sendmsg by sendmsg(). In fact, the original driver submission includes the phy-supply code but no mention of it in the binding, so the omission appears to be accidental. In addition, the property is documented in the binding for the previous hardware generation, allwinner,sun7i-a20-gmac. Document phy-supply in the binding to fix devicetree validation for the 25+ boards that already use this property. The imx_rproc driver is extended with support for communicating with and attaching to a running M4 on i.MX8QXP, as well as support for attaching to the M4 after self-recovering from a crash. Support is added for i.MX8QM and mailbox channels are reconnected during the recovery process, in order to avoid data corruption. The Xilinx Zynqmp firmware interface is extended and support for the Xilinx R5 RPU is introduced. Various resources leaks, primarily in error paths, throughout the Qualcomm drivers are corrected.
