2023-07-14platform/x86: simatic-ipc: drop PCI runtime depends and headerHenning Schild2-2/+0

2023-07-14platform/x86: simatic-ipc: add CMOS battery monitoringHenning Schild9-15/+549
Siemens Simatic Industrial PCs can monitor the voltage of the CMOS battery with two bits that indicate low or empty state. This can be GPIO or PortIO based. Here we model that as a hwmon voltage. The core driver does the PortIO and provides boilerplate for the GPIO versions. Which are split out to model runtime dependencies while allowing fine-grained kernel configuration. 2023-07-12platform/x86: asus-wmi: expose dGPU and CPU tunables for ROGLuke D. Jones3-0/+354
Expose various CPU and dGPU tunables that are available on many ASUS ROG laptops. The tunables shown in sysfs will vary depending on the CPU and dGPU vendor. All of these variables are write only and there is no easy way to find what the defaults are. In general they seem to default to the max value the vendor sets for the CPU and dGPU package - this is not the same as the min/max writable value. Values written to these variables that are beyond the capabilities of the CPU are ignored by the laptop. Signed-off-by: Luke D. 2023-07-11platform/x86/amd: pmc: Apply nvme quirk to HP 15s-eq2xxxMario Limonciello1-0/+9
HP 15s-eq2xxx is an older Lucienne laptop that has a problem resuming from s2idle when IOMMU is enabled. The symptoms very closely resemble that of the Lenovo issues with NVME resume. Lucienne was released in a similar timeframe as the Renoir / Cezanne Lenovo laptops and they may have similar BIOS code. 2023-07-10platform/x86/intel/tpmi: Prevent overflow for cap_offsetSrinivas Pandruvada1-3/+1
cap_offset is a u16 field, so multiplying with TPMI_CAP_OFFSET_UNIT (which is equal to 1024) to covert to bytes will cause overflow. This will be a problem once more TPMI features are added. This field is not used except for calculating pfs->vsec_offset. So, leave cap_offset field unchanged and multiply with TPMI_CAP_OFFSET_UNIT while calculating pfs->vsec_offset. 2023-07-10platform/x86: wmi: Break possible infinite loop when parsing GUIDAndy Shevchenko1-10/+12
The while-loop may break on one of the two conditions, either ID string is empty or GUID matches. The second one, may never be reached if the parsed string is not correct GUID. In such a case the loop will never advance to check the next ID. Break possible infinite loop by factoring out guid_parse_and_compare() helper which may be moved to the generic header for everyone later on and preventing from similar mistake in the future. Interestingly that firstly it appeared when WMI was turned into a bus driver, but later when duplicated GUIDs were checked, the while-loop has been replaced by for-loop and hence no mistake made again. We just sorted the entries and fields last release, so just out of a perverse sense of curiosity, I decided to see if we can keep things ordered for even just one release. The answer is "No. No we cannot". I suggest that all kernel developers will need weekly training sessions, involving a lot of Big Bird and Sesame Street. And at the yearly maintainer summit, we will all sing the alphabet song together. I doubt I will keep doing this. At some point "perverse sense of curiosity" turns into just a cold dark place filled with sadness and despair.
