2020-03-19drm/amd/display: remove magic numbers in hdcp_ddcWenjing Liu1-6/+6
[why] DP doesn't have message id as the first byte of an hdcp message, current hdcp psp unifies HDMI and DP message so that it is required when reading DP HDCP messages in hdcp_ddc, a message id needs to be added as the first byte of the HDCP message. The id is currently assigned as a magic number which is not a good coding practice. [how] Replace magic numbers with macro defined in hdcp headers. 2020-03-19drm/amd/display: Explicitly disable triplebuffer flipsNicholas Kazlauskas1-0/+3
[Why] This is enabled by default on Renoir but there's userspace/API support to actually make use of this. Since we're not passing this down through surface updates, let's explicitly disable this for now. This fixes "dcn20_program_front_end_for_ctx" warnings associated with incorrect/unexpected programming sequences performed while this is enabled. [How] Disable it at the topmost level in DM in case anyone tries to flip this to enabled for any of the other ASICs like Navi10/14. 2020-03-19drm/amd/display: Pass triplebuffer surface flip flags down to plane stateNicholas Kazlauskas2-0/+3
[Why] A "dcn20_program_front_end_for_ctx" warning is observed on Renoir. Since the resource definition doesn't explicitly disable triplebuffer flips like Navi10 DC actually attempts to go and setup triplebuffering even when we pass in false to the plane state. If we hit a full update after triplebuffering has been setup we see the assertion since we don't expect full updates while performing triplebuffer flips. Normally this would get reset back to false whne we pass in the new plane state, but since we never actually copy the flag when doing surface updates this doesn't happen. [How] Copy the flag onto the plane update based on the requested surface update state. [Why] When hotplug a HDMI monitor during entering S0i3 or DPMSOFF state due to entering infinite loop when calling vbios to program pixel clocks. In this scenario, pll is enabled but phy is not, and there is not a programing guide for this case. [How] Before we having the proper programing guide, before disable pll, doing a phy enable and disable to avoid the issue. [Why] Due to previous code changes displays which are in active state immediately transition to the active and added state. This makes the two states redundant and unnecessary. [How] Instead of updating the device state to active and added after successful addition, change state to inactive if addition failed. 2020-03-18wireguard: noise: error out precomputed DH during handshake rather than configJason A. Donenfeld5-48/+49
We precompute the static-static ECDH during configuration time, in order to save an expensive computation later when receiving network packets. However, not all ECDH computations yield a contributory result. Prior, we were just not letting those peers be added to the interface. However, this creates a strange inconsistency, since it was still possible to add other weird points, like a valid public key plus a low-order point, and, like points that result in zeros, a handshake would not complete. In order to make the behavior more uniform and less surprising, simply allow all peers to be added. Then, we'll error out later when doing the crypto if there's an issue. The situation in which we wind up hitting the default case here indicates a major bug in earlier parsing code. It is not a usual thing that should ever happen, which means a "friendly" message for it doesn't make sense. Rather, replace this with a WARN_ON, just like we do earlier in the file for a similar situation, so that somebody sends us a bug report and we can fix it. We carry out checks to the effect of: if (skb->protocol != wg_examine_packet_protocol(skb)) goto err; By having wg_skb_examine_untrusted_ip_hdr return 0 on failure, this means that the check above still passes in the case where skb->protocol is zero, which is possible to hit with AF_PACKET: struct sockaddr_pkt saddr = { .spkt_device = "wg0" }; unsigned char buffer[5] = { 0 }; sendto(socket(AF_PACKET, SOCK_PACKET, /* skb->protocol = */ 0), buffer, sizeof(buffer), 0, (const struct sockaddr *)&saddr, sizeof(saddr)); Additional checks mean that this isn't actually a problem in the code base, but I could imagine it becoming a problem later if the function is used more liberally. I would prefer to fix this by having wg_examine_packet_protocol return a 32-bit ~0 value on failure, which will never match any value of skb->protocol, which would simply change the generated code from a mov to a movzx. However, sparse complains, and adding __force casts doesn't seem like a good idea, so instead we just add a simple helper function to check for the zero return value. Since wg_examine_packet_protocol itself gets inlined, this winds up not adding an additional branch to the generated code, since the 0 return value already happens in a mergable branch. 2020-03-18riscv: fix the IPI missing issue in nommu modeGreentime Hu2-5/+5
This patch fixes the IPI(inner processor interrupt) missing issue. It failed because it used hartid_mask to iterate for_each_cpu(), however the cpu_mask and hartid_mask may not be always the same. It will never send the IPI to hartid 4 because it will be skipped in for_each_cpu loop in my case. We can reproduce this case in Qemu sifive_u machine by this command. qemu-system-riscv64 -nographic -smp 5 -m 1G -M sifive_u -kernel \ arch/riscv/boot/loader It will hang in csd_lock_wait(csd) because the csd_unlock(csd) is not called. It is not called because hartid 4 doesn't receive the IPI to release this lock. The caller hart doesn't send the IPI to hartid 4 is because of hartid 4 is skipped in for_each_cpu(). It will be skipped is because "(cpu) < nr_cpu_ids" is not true. The hartid is 4 and nr_cpu_ids is 4. There is measurable performance impact in some synthetic tests due to commit 6d390e4b5d48 (locks: fix a potential use-after-free problem when wakeup a waiter). Fix the race condition instead by clearing the fl_blocker pointer after the wake_up, using explicit acquire/release semantics. This does mean that we can no longer use the clearing of fl_blocker as the wait condition, so switch the waiters over to checking whether the fl_blocked_member list_head is empty. 2020-03-19modpost: Get proper section index by get_secindex() instead of st_shndxXiao Yang1-1/+2
(uint16_t) st_shndx is limited to 65535(i.e. SHN_XINDEX) so sym_get_data() gets wrong section index by st_shndx if requested symbol contains extended section index that is more than 65535. In this case, we need to get proper section index by .symtab_shndx section. Module.symvers generated by building kernel with "-ffunction-sections -fdata-sections" shows the issue. This is just a cleanup addition to Jann's fix to properly update the transaction ID for the slub slowpath in commit fd4d9c7d0c71 ("mm: slub: add missing TID bump.."). The transaction ID is what protects us against any concurrent accesses, but we should really also make sure to make the 'freelist' comparison itself always use the same freelist value that we then used as the new next free pointer. Jann points out that if we do all of this carefully, we could skip the transaction ID update for all the paths that only remove entries from the lists, and only update the TID when adding entries (to avoid the ABA issue with cmpxchg and list handling re-adding a previously seen value). 2020-03-18mm: slub: add missing TID bump in kmem_cache_alloc_bulk()Jann Horn1-0/+9
When kmem_cache_alloc_bulk() attempts to allocate N objects from a percpu freelist of length M, and N > M > 0, it will first remove the M elements from the percpu freelist, then call ___slab_alloc() to allocate the next element and repopulate the percpu freelist. ___slab_alloc() can re-enable IRQs via allocate_slab(), so the TID must be bumped before ___slab_alloc() to properly commit the freelist head change. Fix it by unconditionally bumping c->tid when entering the slowpath. Commit 77654350306a ("take compat TIOC[SG]SERIAL treatment into tty_compat_ioctl()") changed the compat version of TIOCGSERIAL to start checking for the presence of the ->set_serial function pointer rather than ->get_serial. This appears to be a copy-and-paste error, since ->get_serial is the function pointer that is called as well as the pointer that is checked by the non-compat version of TIOCGSERIAL. Fix this by checking the correct function pointer. last_keep_alive_jiffies is updated in probe and when a keep-alive event is received. In case the driver times-out on a keep-alive event, it has high chances of continuously timing-out on keep-alive events. This is because when the driver recovers from the keep-alive-timeout reset the value of last_keep_alive_jiffies is very old, and if a keep-alive event is not received before the next timer expires, the value of last_keep_alive_jiffies will cause another keep-alive-timeout reset and so forth in a loop. Solution: Update last_keep_alive_jiffies whenever the device is restored after reset.
