2020-10-08iwlwifi: pcie: fix xtal latency for 9560 devicesLuca Coelho3-5/+15
We were using a very high latency for all 9560 devices so they all would have time to stabilize. But this causes the system to be slighly slower, so we can use the best values for each device. This requires a new trans cfg struct for devices with longer latency and some adjustments to the other structs. 2020-10-08mm: avoid early COW write protect games during fork()Linus Torvalds1-37/+4
In commit 70e806e4e645 ("mm: Do early cow for pinned pages during fork() for ptes") we write-protected the PTE before doing the page pinning check, in order to avoid a race with concurrent fast-GUP pinning (which doesn't take the mm semaphore or the page table lock). That trick doesn't actually work - it doesn't handle memory ordering properly, and doing so would be prohibitively expensive. It also isn't really needed. While we're moving in the direction of allowing and supporting page pinning without marking the pinned area with MADV_DONTFORK, the fact is that we've never really supported this kind of odd "concurrent fork() and page pinning", and doing the serialization on a pte level is just wrong. We can add serialization with a per-mm sequence counter, so we know how to solve that race properly, but we'll do that at a more appropriate time. Right now this just removes the write protect games. It also turns out that the write protect games actually break on Power, as reported by Aneesh Kumar: "Architecture like ppc64 expects set_pte_at to be not used for updating a valid pte. This is further explained in commit 56eecdb912b5 ("mm: Use ptep/pmdp_set_numa() for updating _PAGE_NUMA bit")" and the code triggered a warning there: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 30613 at arch/powerpc/mm/pgtable.c:185 set_pte_at+0x2a8/0x3a0 arch/powerpc/mm/pgtable.c:185 Call Trace: copy_present_page mm/memory.c:857 [inline] copy_present_pte mm/memory.c:899 [inline] copy_pte_range mm/memory.c:1014 [inline] copy_pmd_range mm/memory.c:1092 [inline] copy_pud_range mm/memory.c:1127 [inline] copy_p4d_range mm/memory.c:1150 [inline] copy_page_range+0x1f6c/0x2cc0 mm/memory.c:1212 dup_mmap kernel/fork.c:592 [inline] dup_mm+0x77c/0xab0 kernel/fork.c:1355 copy_mm kernel/fork.c:1411 [inline] copy_process+0x1f00/0x2740 kernel/fork.c:2070 _do_fork+0xc4/0x10b0 kernel/fork.c:2429 Link: https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/CAHk-=wiWr+gO0Ro4LvnJBMs90OiePNyrE3E+pJvc9PzdBShdmw@mail.gmail.com/ Link: https://lore.kernel.org/linuxppc-dev/[email protected]/ Reported-by: Aneesh Kumar K.V <[email protected]> Tested-by: Leon Romanovsky <[email protected]> Cc: Peter Xu <[email protected]> Cc: Jason Gunthorpe <[email protected]> Cc: John Hubbard <[email protected]> Cc: Andrew Morton <[email protected]> Cc: Jan Kara <[email protected]> Cc: Michal Hocko <[email protected]> Cc: Kirill Shutemov <[email protected]> Cc: Hugh Dickins <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <[email protected]>

2020-10-08iwlwifi: mvm: support ADD_STA_CMD_API_S ver 12Nathan Errera7-19/+102
ADD_STA_CMD_API_S ver 12 was added in order to properly support auxiliary activities in CDB NICs. In the new version we don't need to allocate an aux station at initialization, instead we add an aux station only when an auxiliary activity that requires a dedicated Tx queue is needed. If we have only a single RX queue, such as when MSI-X is not available, we should not send the RFH_QUEUEU_CONFIG_CMD, because our only queue is the same as the command queue and will be configured as part of the context info. 2020-10-08net: wireless: nl80211: fix out-of-bounds access in nl80211_del_key()Anant Thazhemadam1-0/+3
In nl80211_parse_key(), key.idx is first initialized as -1. If this value of key.idx remains unmodified and gets returned, and nl80211_key_allowed() also returns 0, then rdev_del_key() gets called with key.idx = -1. This causes an out-of-bounds array access. Handle this issue by checking if the value of key.idx after nl80211_parse_key() is called and return -EINVAL if key.idx < 0. 2020-10-08mac80211: copy configured beacon tx rate to driverRajkumar Manoharan2-0/+6
The user is allowed to change beacon tx rate (HT/VHT/HE) from hostapd. This information needs to be passed to the driver when the rate control is offloaded to the firmware. The driver capability of allowing beacon rate is already validated in cfg80211, so simply passing the rate information to the driver is enough. 2020-10-08bpf: Fix scalar32_min_max_or bounds trackingDaniel Borkmann1-4/+4
Simon reported an issue with the current scalar32_min_max_or() implementation. That is, compared to the other 32 bit subreg tracking functions, the code in scalar32_min_max_or() stands out that it's using the 64 bit registers instead of 32 bit ones. This leads to bounds tracking issues, for example: [...] 8: R0=map_value(id=0,off=0,ks=4,vs=48,imm=0) R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm 8: (79) r1 = *(u64 *)(r0 +0) R0=map_value(id=0,off=0,ks=4,vs=48,imm=0) R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm 9: R0=map_value(id=0,off=0,ks=4,vs=48,imm=0) R1_w=inv(id=0) R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm 9: (b7) r0 = 1 10: R0_w=inv1 R1_w=inv(id=0) R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm 10: (18) r2 = 0x600000002 12: R0_w=inv1 R1_w=inv(id=0) R2_w=inv25769803778 R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm 12: (ad) if r1 < r2 goto pc+1 R0_w=inv1 R1_w=inv(id=0,umin_value=25769803778) R2_w=inv25769803778 R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm 13: R0_w=inv1 R1_w=inv(id=0,umin_value=25769803778) R2_w=inv25769803778 R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm 13: (95) exit 14: R0_w=inv1 R1_w=inv(id=0,umax_value=25769803777,var_off=(0x0; 0x7ffffffff)) R2_w=inv25769803778 R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm 14: (25) if r1 > 0x0 goto pc+1 R0_w=inv1 R1_w=inv(id=0,umax_value=0,var_off=(0x0; 0x7fffffff),u32_max_value=2147483647) R2_w=inv25769803778 R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm 15: R0_w=inv1 R1_w=inv(id=0,umax_value=0,var_off=(0x0; 0x7fffffff),u32_max_value=2147483647) R2_w=inv25769803778 R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm 15: (95) exit 16: R0_w=inv1 R1_w=inv(id=0,umin_value=1,umax_value=25769803777,var_off=(0x0; 0x77fffffff),u32_max_value=2147483647) R2_w=inv25769803778 R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm 16: (47) r1 |= 0 17: R0_w=inv1 R1_w=inv(id=0,umin_value=1,umax_value=32212254719,var_off=(0x1; 0x700000000),s32_max_value=1,u32_max_value=1) R2_w=inv25769803778 R10=fp0 fp-8=mmmmmmmm [...] The bound tests on the map value force the upper unsigned bound to be 25769803777 in 64 bit (0b11000000000000000000000000000000001) and then lower one to be 1. By using OR they are truncated and thus result in the range [1,1] for the 32 bit reg tracker. This is incorrect given the only thing we know is that the value must be positive and thus 2147483647 (0b1111111111111111111111111111111) at max for the subregs. Fix it by using the {u,s}32_{min,max}_value vars instead. This also makes sense, for example, for the case where we update dst_reg->s32_{min,max}_value in the else branch we need to use the newly computed dst_reg->u32_{min,max}_value as we know that these are positive. Previously, in the else branch the 64 bit values of umin_value=1 and umax_value=32212254719 were used and latter got truncated to be 1 as upper bound there. With that, there's now 50 calls to kernel-doc, which makes the build time for those docs 62% faster: $ touch Documentation/driver-api/80211/*rst && time make SPHINXDIRS=driver-api/80211 htmldocs ... real 0m8,666s user 0m8,084s sys 0m0,642s As a side effect, it should now be easier to add newer functions, as there's no need to repeat the kernel-doc pattern. 2020-10-08cfg80211: only allow S1G channels on S1G bandThomas Pedersen1-1/+4
As discovered by syzbot, cfg80211 was accepting S1G channel widths on non-S1G bands. Add a check for this, and consolidate the 1MHz frequency check as it ends up being a subset of the others. 2020-10-08mac80211: initialize last_rate for S1G STAsThomas Pedersen6-1/+25
last_rate is initialized to zero by sta_info_alloc(), but this indicates legacy bitrate for the last TX rate (and invalid for the last RX rate). To avoid a warning when decoding the last rate as legacy (before a data frame has been sent), initialize them as S1G MCS. 2020-10-08mac80211: handle lack of sband->bitrates in ratesThomas Pedersen2-1/+6
Even though a driver or mac80211 shouldn't produce a legacy bitrate if sband->bitrates doesn't exist, don't crash if that is the case either. This fixes a kernel panic if station dump is run before last_rate can be updated with a data frame when sband->bitrates is missing (eg. in S1G bands). 2020-10-07can: flexcan: remove ack_grp and ack_bit handling from driverMarc Kleine-Budde1-9/+4
Since commit: 048e3a34a2e7 can: flexcan: poll MCR_LPM_ACK instead of GPR ACK for stop mode acknowledgment the driver polls the IP core's internal bit MCR[LPM_ACK] as stop mode acknowledge and not the acknowledgment on chip level. This means the 4th and 5th value of the property "fsl,stop-mode" isn't used anymore. This patch removes the used "ack_gpr" and "ack_bit" from the driver. 2020-10-07can: add ISO 15765-2:2016 transport protocolOliver Hartkopp5-0/+1609
CAN Transport Protocols offer support for segmented Point-to-Point communication between CAN nodes via two defined CAN Identifiers. As CAN frames can only transport a small amount of data bytes (max. 8 bytes for 'classic' CAN and max. 64 bytes for CAN FD) this segmentation is needed to transport longer PDUs as needed e.g. for vehicle diagnosis (UDS, ISO 14229) or IP-over-CAN traffic. This protocol driver implements data transfers according to ISO 15765-2:2016 for 'classic' CAN and CAN FD frame types. Rename macro CAN_CALC_SYNC_SEG to CAN_SYNC_SEG and make it available through include/linux/can/dev.h Add an helper function can_bit_time() which returns the duration (in time quanta) of one CAN bit. Rationale for this patch: the sync segment and the bit time are two concepts which are defined in the CAN ISO standard. Device drivers for CAN might need those.
